  • BTW is the Amiga version better than this?

  • I remember being shotued at to get to bed for school in the morning because i couldnt stop playing this game, i used to turn the volume down, then turn the brightness on the TV down, just to sneak a few more tries in before i had to sleep haha, the music always got me caught,,, still havent beat the game.

  • excellent... i had this for spectrum but i was only 5 and could only get to the 2nd screen haha blast from the past... nice. good music 8 bit groove

  • That part on the first level with the bees is horrible. I die in it 9 times out of 10 as the bees attack me so fast.

If I do make it past the bees I mistime the jump to the screen above and fall in the water.

  • i just cant believe how heavy the opening is, i mean crank that high up and your bass goes wild

  • In 1988 Last Ninja 2 kicked all other games in the ass and still now 2012 kick ass :)

  • i want to play it in xp, anybody knows a good emulator?

  • i love how you kick the door down to get the sword.

  • Can anyone explain the purpose of the food items in this game? You pick up a burger for example but you can't use it to replenish energy as far as i know, the food items just sit in your inventory for the whole game. What are they for?

  • @turrican1900

Every burger gives you an extra life, like the apples in the first game.

  • @laffer35 I see, so big macs are the secret to reincarnation!

  • Super spel. veel uurtjes in mijn jeugd mee doorgebracht

  • commodore....now there's a company that really cared about sound, amazing 8 bit soundtrack

  • miss the old GEN. This game was awesome !

  • I just did a comma 8 comma 1. But nothing happened. :(

  • wish they would ake a 3d version of this game

  • Legendary game. When we got it on the C64, the game came complete with a ninja mask and plastic ninja throwing star. Amazing.

  • I remember playing this back in the day, what an incredible game

  • amazing to think that as a very young kid i could complete last ninja 1 and 2, games today are so easy

  • just brought back so many memories!

  • I agree with you guys, The new games and systems are not the same. Even though we have PS3 and XBOX with the graphics and stuff but the old games had a different taste. I miss them, God knows how many times I played Ninja I & II & III. wish i still had my commodore 64!!

  • the new games these days are lacking a certain atmosphere that I think will be impossible to recreate.

  • @MPSecare

    i ABSOLUTELY agree

  • capolavoro

  • This game is so brilliant...and the music is epic majesty...simply fantastic. So many great memories...

  • damn hard game.. just jumping over the stone pond was deadly.

  • the master trained you well.

  • orgasmic!!!! i loved this game i really did

  • I never understood why this game took place in modern new york city when the others were in the past or something.

  • @deesies Slowly Armakuni clawed his way back through the darkness of deep sleep, back to where he felt safe. As he forced his eyes open, he was greeted by a sight that his experiences could not have prepared him for. Armakuni is now standing on a hard wooden floor surrounded by strange objects that vaguely remind him of musical instruments.

    Time travel!!!

  • i played thi when i wa 6 years old but never finish it. fantastic

  • awesome

  • best music

  • Oh wow. I remember having this on my old C64 way back in the day. I had the big boxed version with the map and shuriken star!

I just found a c64 emulator and yep, I'm still as crap at the game as I was all those years ago.

    Best game music EVER.

  • those c64 last ninjas the best ever.it is ever better than than the amiga 500 version.

  • I have no words to describe this game, one of the best ever made! I like the story and the gameplay was great.... the music it's fantastic and i have put it on my phone!

    10+++++

  • who did the music for this game? Was it Rob Hubbard.

  • @Simon0 Matt Gray did the tunes.

  • Comment removed

  • I made it only once past the first boat - and died because of the bees... ^^ Nice work and thanks, laffer!

  • Great Game! Brings back good childhood memories waking up early on weekends just to play this! What i never realised as a youngster though, is what on earth is half a nunchuck doing in the female toilets! lol..

    Classic game, love it!

  • 1:42 Dude did the moonwalk away from the wall.

  • Always have to watch out for those ninjas in Central Park.

  • greatttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • even ninjas must wait for the green light=)

  • What a game - Must have completed this about 50 times back in the day......Just to hear the awsome tunes.Must rank amongst one of the best c64 titles.

  • I smoked a billion cigs playing this til 5 in the moring..

  • A mate and I used to dub our own sound effects on while playing so we could still listen to the great music. Until we got kicked out of the house for driving everyone mad with ki-hah yells and cheesy kung fu movie dialogue.

  • when he is a nanja, why i can see him Oo

  • totally...totally...AWESOME!!!

  • In my opinion this version is better than last ninja for nes

  • Got this on my 8-track player, I play it when Im pumping bitches... But then again, I play this game, so I dont get to play this when I pump bitches. They are invisible.

  • Awesome! I loved the first game passionately, but when I played Last Ninja 2 I just knew that things had been stepped up a level.

Plus, that music. SO good. Really pushed the c64 to the limit, like so many great games did.

Just a shame my tape refused to load after level 2! Back in those days I was just a kid, so couldn't afford another copy :(

  • I remember i had the limited ed box of this game, it came with a plastic ninja star, and a ninja mask, which was so big only the elephant man could wear it. lol

  • got this soundtrack on my ipod, playing it while im pumping iron...good old times

  • @Dfens2008 : best idea ever. been thinking for months now which would be the perfect soundtrack when im at the gym.

  • Do you got that kind of torches in the sewer in the US?

  • damn, i have flashbacks...beem me back scotty

  • Torches in the sewers = AWESOME

  • Best music ever composed in a computer game thanks to Matt Gray and the SID chip!

  • @80sguy35 Yea, I remember dubbing every track from this game to cassette tape back in the day... listened to that thing until it snapped then made another one. Although in fairness, a lot of the actual music itself Matt Gray didn't compose. He borrowed a bunch of hooks and melodies from Tangerine Dream. He did have a unique sound with the SID chip which I always liked... but a decent chunk of the LN2 soundtrack isn't stuff he wrote.

  • E P I C :)

  • If you check the bin at 2:08 there is invincibility

  • this tune can almost not be beaten!

  • Long live the police-dodging, stick-poking, moonwalking, burger-eating Last Ninja! Remember getting a demo of this with a C64 magazine, but it only had up to the sewer, so never got to burn the croc :(.

  • I love this game - i´m still playing it today on my C64 at home, or my GP2x.....next month i will play it on my new Pandora ;-)

By the way, you play this game really good....

  • Mate, thanks for the upload - this brings back memories LOVED this game LOL

  • 5:27 - lamest attempt at killing The Last Ninja ever. I love the way after he misses he just sort of stands there in the window going "...oh. Shit....I could've sworn that would work."

  • well this cover from us isn't good....but you get it,if we are better!!

    thanks for your interest!

  • they can´t keep it real any more.

  • not real commodore machines.

  • shame after almost 20 years. now they build commodore pc towers. with ugly vinyls on them.

    cost over 3000 dollars

  • best c64 music ever imo.

  • This awesome game wouldn`t be the same withot the MEGA-SUPER ULTRA MUSIC!!!

  • Check out my version of the first level music plos :)

  • Comment removed

  • the lower key bass oscillations with sustain are fabulous. I could listen to that all day - it makes my insides tingle.

  • one of my favorite games from the 64 and amiga in my youth.

  • amazing music.!!

  • When the first Last ninja game came it was like when the jetmotor was invented for the aeroplanes!!

  • @licksers True enough, the soundtrack gives me chills to this day.

  • Nice stuff, this was 1 of my favo games in those days. THanks for sharing.

  • 1:41 The funny thing about this scene is that you don't need the map as it serves no purpose in the game and you can alternatively leap off the top into the next screen without climbing down LOL Same with the helicopter scene.

  • tiu taui tiu tum ta tiu toui zaou paou opiu oum zjm zam tam tam tam zuumraaam tum tum tam zibitibidizabadampam

  • I used love this game and the music :)

  • the music is perfect!

  • the ninja looks like Patrick Steward, the Professor from X-Men :-))

  • @TheHarry1975 You're kidding! I see no bald head on that ninja and he moves quicker than him, seeing as he's not in a wheelchair LOL

    And it's Stewart, dummy.

  • I really want to see you kick more ass rather than run away so much =(

  • @TommyCurrell The fact is, this game is easier than it looks, because you can run past most of the bad guys. I always chicken-out in this game LOL

  • One of my alltime favorites! Pure classic at it's best!

Not only the music was epic, also the graphics!

When I first saw this game back in the days 1988 I couldn't believe what I see. And the music, ah, it's so fucking outstanding that I recorded it on tape by holding my ghettoblaster at the tv speaker. Then I listened to the music while delivering newspapers. It was great. :D

For me it's the game with the best soundtrack there is and ever will be. It's impossible to top. Thumbs up!

  • greatest game of all time?

  • Music in all Last Ninjas are awesome ! Impressive the amount of music c64 could produce, no wonder the games never got boring ^^

  • The music is great!

  • Now i remember where i hear that "beat" ,, you doom rapit from this !

  • Yes!!!! Last Ninja 2 was soooo great!!! I still remember where I bought it yeeeeeeaaarsss back!

A great game with no downsides. The music of the Park level was great!!!!

  • That hole god damn suburb is after him, even the god damn bee's.

  • Great memories from the year 1988. The Last Ninja games from System 3 owns!!

  • and just think at the time all that music coming out of an 8bit computer......absolutely amazing!!!!

  • Epic soundtrack, this wasn't so good on the CPC464

  • That moonwalk to escape @ 8:45 is awesome !

  • yes this sound good!!

  • this takes me back time to break out the commodore 64 i heard there was going to be a remake of the last ninja does anyone know what happened to it and if it will ever come out

  • @starkweather04

It got scraped, it was ment to come out on the old xbox but the idea fell though.

  • I think I got this game, many other and a C64 for a christmas. Remember playing it as a kid. Thank you dad.

  • This guy played like a real ninja...only fight when he has to!!!

  • i was always pretty sure i found some kinda dildo in that toilet

  • CHOOOOOON!!

  • still looks DAMN good now!!!

  • The opening of the first song is awsome!

  • i just loved this game the music was cool and for a C64 very good i still have a C64 and sometimes when i am in a retro mood i play this game

  • This game has some cool music.

  • This will be Released a Beside for Mind in a Box Single 8 Bits.

  • those fucking boats... I have died so many times trying to jump on them in the right time. But still it was a lot of fun in that time.

  • @Diament666 Yeah, a lot of drowned ninjas in that park! :o)

  • ....so that's how you get past the gator!

  • Damn! This goes way back. I get a lot of wierd flashbacks, totally Deja Vu :)

I remember getting up early in the weekends and eating cerials and playing this game :)

  • GOOD OLD TIMES

  • @stuffesen Haha... I remember waking up eraly to play these games as well. All excited. I'd have my toast and fire up my Commodore 64 before anyone was up. Then I'd play a bit, and do my daily things and be excited to play it again in the evening.

  • @stuffesen

    cereals, fuck yeah

  • @stuffesen

    Couldn't have said it better!

  • i played it when i was 4 years old :D

  • you're 109 years old? Thats amazing! nice one.

  • i got stuck right at the start for ages. I couldnt ever get the stick. Then i found out you needed to press a button on the keyboard to change the angle at which you walk.

  • No.

    Sorry, i meant yes. YOOOOOUUUUUU..

  • my brother had this. I always played when it wasnt home ;p good music

  • I think it's funny that a ninja has to wait for the light to cross the street safely,he should jump and dart across traffic!

  • @VideyoJunkei

You get run over by a speeding car. It's as hilarious as it sounds.

  • I don't think kids of today can imagine the feeling of actually getting ones hands on a new box with the Last Ninja game back in '87-'88.. it was ten times more exciting than getting the latest friggin' '00s 3d-game (which feels and acts like the one released the week before).. They probably don't even know that LN was THE C64-title of the '80s..

And that awsome Matt Gray-track beats the heck out of any new sampled background with no melodies or feeling one has to put up with in a modern game.

  • Comment removed

  • can we see a video of it please! if you did one.

  • they should have improved the fighting this game. Cause the fighting is a bti too random and hard, so you just ahve to run away from everyone.

  • when i was small my father played this games. i was a little bit scared :D

  • perfect. this game, together with turrican and katakis showed the maximum power of the c64

  • That bit when the bees chase you and you have to poke the boat with the stick is a bitch. I remember if you did'nt make the jump in time you got stuck and had to start the whole level again! I broke a joystick over this game when i was a kid. Still freaking love it though!!

  • This is Ultimate nostalgia retro goodness! One of my favorite C64 games I had when i was a kid. Golden days indeed! The music still sound freakin awesome today! Last Ninja 2 has stood the test of time better than any other C64 title.

  • How long ago it was, I can't believe it, part of my childhood. Music is awesome, synth tones and pitch effects are great! Perhaps I'll make cover of this on my synthesizer

  • good idea. i wanna do that too actually (I also have a synth, i have a Korg)

  • One of the best game soudtracks of that time.

  • I think God wrote this soundtrack.

  • Christian music sucks! :p

  • Christian music rocks! :)

  • @laffer35

It doesn't. At least not here.

  • @ComCodex Awesome! Me as a kid loved the C64 and it's SID chip. Now I'm into psytrance. :-D

  • Great music but what happened remaking this for the original xbox

  • ninja gaiden happened.

  • Some nice jumping on the boat. I always missed and died on the NES version. Ever notice that the sewers look like an entire city underground.

  • 1:08 is this the holy scroll from the end of Last Ninja 1?

  • It's a map.

  • a map...

but you never need this map right?

  • No idea, but that's what it is.

Even says so in the manual.

  • Oh my god I love c64 music! This game was too fucking hard for me when I was little. I will try this again sometime...

  • When the hell are some people gonna make a remake of this awesome game (but use the old music ofc)

  • Matt Gray was the god of c64 music <3

I would really love to see a picture of this god.

He just made some INSANE music and disappeared like a real ninja =(

  • I found out the other day that Matt Gray worked/works with/ helped setup Xenomania the pop production house behind, Girls aloud, Kylie, Pet shop boys and Cher's hit "Believe" which he helped write, and many more famous pop songs :D so he hasn't really dissappeared at all. Some songs are really Cheesey, but really well produced, and they've won tons of awards :)

  • Hehehe =) I know this from "last ninja archives" .

    I still wan't a pic of him :)

    but thanks alot mate =)

  • Oh right cool, I just found out "by accident" the other day that Matt Gray, one of my favourite C64 composers, had composed some great pop tunes. I had wondered what he'd been upto. Cheers :)

  • Hehehehe yeah :) It's cool to hear he is still doin well at least. He did some really fantastic work on the c64, that's for sure.

    Cheers =)

  • @SOULDEZIGNER

my band can play this with guitars. :D

  • @Citizenkill

Oh that is AWESOME. Can you send me a link or the mp3 file? I really would like to hear it =)

  • @Citizenkill

  • Great music!!!

  • Insuperabile!!! sia il gioco che la musica ....bellissimo

  • what's with the all nunchaku ends founding in ladies bathroom :) and that ninja is using them to slap them on enemies face later on.

  • What I dont get is why everybody wants Ninja Guy dead:P Although I do think its fun he gets shit trown at him .. You dont see that anymore in modern day games:(

    ... ^_^ anyway again 5/5

  • What i dont get is whats special about the ninja? I remember the first of these games and my first thought was "Ok so he kicks.....like everybody else, what is it that makes him a ninja, apart from the custume?!?" LOL
