Quite many Palestinian arabs, especially from Samaria and Judea (West Bank) look like Mesopotamians, not have to be jews - but Lebanese, Syrians too for example (similar to jews) . Actually, I have heard of Aramean tribes having the label Arab. It didn't mean people spoke the Arabic of Mohammed's Quraysh. I remember reading somewhere where certain Arameans were referred to by ancient Assyrians as Arabs. I can't remember the source. If I find it again, I will let you know. I don't generally view Arameans and Arabs synonymous, but the ancient idea of Arab is different than today.

I think a lot of Palestinians roots are Jews.For more than 2000 years Jews where targeted from different nations so a lot of them changed their religion from the fear of death or punishment ,with time new generations milted in a new cultures .there is many other reasons also, Jews started to fought each others in few times in history and losers disappeared around the mountains of Jerusalem,and through the crisis they refused to leave Jerusalem because they knew it is the promise land .
