  • Why is everyone saying it's classical? I thought it was baroque.

  • music for all types of ears.

  • music for all types of ears.

  • Iubesc atat de mult sunetul acesta atemporal! I feel as a newborn when I hear this heavenly sound!

  • im in the womb and i must say i like spring better

  • I'm a person and I can't believe I like this!

  • I CANT BELIEVE THIS WAS DONE ALL BY 1 PERSON!!

  • I lov eclassical music because theres so much character in it

  • I was born yesterday and I can't believe I like this!

  • @EwokPWNS haha!!

  • This is my favorite piece of Vivaldi's four seasons. I just absolutely adore this.

  • Best Version Ever!

  • I'm 282 years old and I can't believe I like this!

  • This particular version of Winter is still to this day the best rendition I've heard. So many musicians just butcher this piece by trying to do certain parts as fast as they can and it destroys the feeling. I love this version.

  • First piece of music i've listened in 2012.

  • Vivaldi was so great .!

  • Sinta!

  • 1st movement too slow, 2nd movement too fast

  • first 2 minutes i'm like aawwww at 3:12 i go woooooooooaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh yesss

  • going in

  • i really wouldn't use the word evolved. the connotation suggests that metal is indeed more advanced and sophisticated which is in no way true. heavy metal artists have talent i'm sure but they can in no way be compared to the greats and that is in no way just my opinion...if you look at the skill required to compose and play classical music it far outweighs metal. anybody can hammer out notes in quick succession but to make a masterpiece like the one by vivaldi...it takes something more.

  • @6810chris 'anybody can hammer out notes in quick succession' are you fucking joking? you've got a nerve to descibe metal like that. metal is a profound and skilled response to the sick crapola of today's 'modern' society and has saved my ass more than once. it is glorious music and is absolutely up there with classical masterpieces

  • @jaddajn1 there are two dynamics in metal...forte and fortissimo. no depth, no emotion besides angry and depressed...i understand the skill needed to play is considerable and much more significant than most of today's music but still nowhere near classical. instead of basing a response on your NOTIONS of what it takes to make music ask someone who actually does. they'll give you the same asnwer as me. contemporary music is good you just have to look harder.

  • @6810chris: Only two dynamics in metal? No emotion besides anger and depression?

I'm afraid you don't have a clue. Maybe u should try looking harder from time to time, yourself. :)

I agree though, that the greats in classical music are in a league of their own.

  • @stargazer555 Heavy Metal, Death Metal, Black Metal, Power Metal, Metalcore, Melodic Metal...nope, can't find anything outside of being really fast or being down. Maybe I'm confused as to what counts as metal, but I'm having a hard time finding music that is considered metal, yet lacking both these properties.

Since you seem to have such a vast understanding on the subject, why have you excluded any examples which might back your claim? I'd love to hear more about these mystery metal bands.

  • @SnapSunny: I guess not being able to grasp what you're reading might have added to your confusion. Where did I claim metalbands didn't have those traits?

I said that there's MORE to it than only those two traits.

And sure, death metal and black metal are extremes, yet even bands in those genres like Opeth aren't restricted to just the brutal aspect that dominates the genre.

Anyway, maybe just cut the sarcasm, get off your high horse sometimes and do your research yourself? :) Cheers!

  • @stargazer555 I have actually researched this topic, and could not find anything MORE than what generally pertains to "angry" or "depressed." Yes, this is the same concept as violet and lavender being different words for purple.

Also, Opeth wasn't very angry, but very down. I'm still waiting on these other bands that will shed light on your comment. You seem to encourage self-study, yet refuse to give any examples to back what you say; maybe due to them being non-existant? ;)

  • @SnapSunny: No offence, but the fact you mentioned metalcore in the same breath as those other subgenres already proved how little you know about metal. You mentioned some subgenres, but obviously haven't explored them. Because most of them are filled with bands that have a wide range of emotions in their songs, and much more complexity than just being loud and fast, or "down". As for Opeth by the way: melancholy is just one of many aspects, above all it's very atmospheric.

  • @SnapSunny: Oh, and as for naming some bands..

Let's start with the obvious: Iron Maiden, Dio, Sabbath, Judas priest.. to name some of the biggest names. Or Kamelot, Helloween, Savatage, Blind Guardian, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Fates Warning, Moonspell, Queensryche... The list is endless, and it's useless spelling everything out for you here, because I'm pretty sure you're just trolling anyway.. ;)

  • @jaddajn1 it certainly isn't up there with classical pieces. nothing is and nothing will ever be. Its one of the deep truths of life. Its something you should know.

  • ...i love this music.

  • a most beautiful song.

  • Very intresting interpretation. Who is performing this?

  • The Best!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you need something else to feel great after listening to this?

  • @scodellar God

  • just... thriling...

  • Such talent <3

  • Vivaldi is not heavy metal, heavy metal is Vivaldi.

  • @pouale92

why do every slob tries to compare classical music to some kind of metal. COMMOM. metal is metal ans a masterpiece is a masterpiece. Get over it

  • I shall post these comments on Jimmy Page's facebook page.

  • I headbanged at 3:11

  • @Laindal Me too....

  • A bear will wake up from winter sleep while hearing this!

  • i love the violin. this is my favorite concerto.

  • this is so good :)

  • This is so heavy metal :) I just love Vivaldi!

  • I LOVE WINTER

  • 23 are deaf

  • @generalowel so was beethoven :D

  • this is the best <3

  • this song is nice to be played while u watch a rain/snowstorm... ;)

  • "I'm (insert age here) and I can't believe I like this!"

For those who who wrote comments like this, classical music is timeless and is for everyone, regardless of age.

  • I remember playing on a leap pad learning book when I was little. You know, those books for kids that talk when you touch the picture with the pen it gives you. I had a lot of those books, but my favorite was on classical composers. My favorite page was Vivaldi's. On this page, the book would make you play a game on which season each song was. I never had any trouble with winter. It was the eerie, fragile song.

  • I'm 15 years old, and listening to this while studyng chemistry xD

  • @batlletek Well isn't this a coincidence! I am fifteen studying chemistry and U.S. history and was for sometime listening to the musings of Bach, now I remember why Vivaldi is one of my favorites. Aren't we fancy? YES WE ARE!

  • @batlletek You know, i heard that listening to music like this increases your learning ability!

  • @xxloveandpeace123xx2 yeah...cause if youre learning while listening to this everything can seem less crappy.

  • 1:06 Fuck! y forgot my wallet inside the car!!!

  • Hard to believe a 19 year old enjoys this music so much! (Thank you music appreciation...)

  • is it normal for me to like this so much? like im thirteen :)

  • @pugzaloo of course it is

  • @pugzaloo Why do you care about what's normal? Just be yourself and live your life the way that makes you happy. Stop trying to impress others :)

  • this really works for the headache, better than drugs

  • The other video doesen't have the beginning which is dissapointing- its only about 20 seconds but still....

  • Oh god, This video is so much better than the one with all the creepy masks starring at you

  • @dominoes37 yes i kinda agree...i guess the other vid showed people in venice dressing up for the traditional masque festival or masques...im not sure what its called but the english masques written by milton and other writers got its name from it...and of course our 'mask' also came from it

  • @dominoes37 lol

  • @dominoes37 This orchestra also performs this piece better than the mask video. However that soloist does make epic faces. lol

  • @dominoes37 hahaha in my course last semester i took "Music in the Human Imagination" and the clip with the people with the masks was what we saw when we learned about this composer, everyone was like "wtf" hahah

  • You are correct :D

  • @dominoes37 hahahahaha lol ;D

  • @dominoes37 "the creepy masks" are from the carnival of Venice, where Vivaldi was born

  • @dominoes37 What are You Talking About I Love The Mask one!!! And I'm not a big fan of the 2d movement for this either...

  • Beautiful performance!

  • wonderful..

  • I love this song. My favourite time to listen to it is when the snow is falling and its right before dawn. Taking a walk through the trees of my yard with this song playing in my headphones is so fun for me :3

  • @PersephonieA1 yeah but when it is a storm it gets better

  • virtuoso violins ... that is so brilliant... Vivaldi was such a tender soul

  • ancient heavy metal \m/

  • ancient heavy metal \m/

  • @dede00009 hell yeah and just as good too haha lml

  • @dede00009 Its not even ancient though...its just old :P

  • @drunkenCss

I believe everything that's older than a lifetime should be considered something more than just plain old. Especially if it's older than 3 lifetimes!

  • @dede00009 hahaha :DDD

  • @dede00009 Ancient Symphonic Power Metal :)

  • @dede00009 wow. your so stupid

  • @PSNDemonwing Can't you have a civilized conversation on youtube? I like both heavy metal and classic and yes heavy metal came from classical it ''evolved''

  • @CoolKidACS thats not the way things work. Since all forms of music are from classic and metal is the closest to classic, yu dnt say classical is ancient metal. you should say metal is the modern version of classical. but probably yu listen to metal more so its okay when talking amongst metal fantatics, but when putting it in public, and into the world it should be said metal is from classic.

  • @PSNDemonwing That's what I said metal evolved from classic. Classic was the ''base''

  • @CoolKidACS classic isn't the "base" it IS the base. no quotations needed.

  • @dede00009 ...jajaja

  • @dede00009 Antonio Paganini is the REAL ancient heavy metal guy :)

  • my favorite.....

  • это конечно, охереть можно.

    Вивальди сильно обогнал свое время

  • @3012usuario Why do you even talk about him? You are a moron.

  • @3012usuario Why do u even mention him? Vivaldi has survived for hundreds of years. I doubt if anyone will remember justin bieber after 10 years.

  • @DannyLetsRoll

I only hear about bieber on youtube videos where people think it's cool to refer the people who dislike the relevant video to have some sort of relation with bieber. I check the profiles and it always turns out to be Americans. I wish they stopped. The rest of the world really couldn't give a shit.

  • @piip4 The original comment was stupid, but your reply keeps it alive. Great job.

Every time I hear about lenient laws on child pornography they always turn out to be in Norway or Sweden.

Why should any of us give a shit about a little Danish colony that has less than half the population of Los Angeles? Focus on improving your joke of a police force and get back to us.

  • @horriehomepage

Child porn? Police force? What the are you rambling about? Maybe your comment was directed at someone else. Don't worry, it happens.

  • I love this piece!!!! I love summer too though :D!!!!!!

  • Doing an essay on him for music a level this very second, we have to right down what we think of the four season pieces and what pictures it puts in your head ect ect and ive got to say its so easy due to the strong images im getting from listening.

  • 23 people love Bieber

  • @3012usuario Shit? What a praise for him... or her. And... yes! Vivaldi rules.

  • Cine Belas Artes..xD

  • @3012usuario do not ever mix that name with such beautiful music.

  • I remember playing this in eight grade at our christmas concert, so much fun!

  • @3012usuario

Who is Justin Bieber????Does his mother knows him?

  • @DIMOS13 ton 3erei h mana tou???hahahahahahaha

  • @DIMOS13 are you greek? :P to katalava apo tin erotisi xD

  • @VrvraKk700 E nai!Ekana gamw tis metafraseis!Gia na mathainoun oi ksenoi merika pragmatakia :P

  • i like seasons winter

  • I am playing violin and let me tell ya...THIS SONG IS AS HARD AS HECK TO PLAY! :3 But it's fun to play and beautiful :D

  • I was born with this music!!!!

  • @3012usuario why even bother bringing bieber up on a vivaldi video?

  • I really like this version of the second movement@

  • when i was a youngèr child, i pulled out the cd we had and listened to vivaldiès part and got goosebumps. it was just so amazing, the music seeps into your soul.

  • Thank you Vivaldi you dirty pro.

  • THANK YOU ANTONIO, REST IN PEACE...

  • @xxloveandpeace123xx Oh I don't mind. George Frideric Handel was another baroque-era composer. You've probably heard some of his "Messiah" oratorio. Check out his "Water Music Suites" and his "Sarabande". :)

  • @FriendlyShadow1 He wrote some of the best stuff for the Flute. It's the funnest stuff to play. (Saying that as a classically trained Flautist...)

  • ORGASM.

  • My favourite piece of the four.

  • @ElDuorPaso is fantastic

  • @3012usuario shit can be used as fertilizer...bieber is more like hazardous chemical

  • This will freeze lady gaga ass.

  • For the past three years I've really been struggling to choose my favourite composer but after listening to this I think it has to be Vivaldi!!

  • can anyone recommend similar composers, i love strings with heavy and melancholic sounds! maybe bach??

  • @cafeaulait69 Yes, Bach. Also try Handel. The three of them composed in the same era. :)

  • @cafeaulait69 Frank Schubert (e.g. death and the maiden) and Erik Satie (but he is piano) are quite good

  • @cafeaulait69 Try Händel's Sarabande, there is a pretty nice arrangement that was used in Stanley Kubricks film Barry Lyndon. That is about as heavy as it can get :)

  • this is like impossible by the time i can do this ill be dead.. '_'

  • Forgive me; I'm not too familiar with this piece but is the violin supposed to speed up on its solo in the beginning?

  • @ddduncan7 There are different interpretations of everything (especially of Baroque works, since the composer usually did not indicate much beyond simple dynamics and tempo). Concerti are especially open for interpretation, to show off the soloist's ability.

  • @esteban3527343 lol even their grammar was messed up

  • how on earth are these songs able to be played ?!!!!???

  • @esteban3527343 And by being a pretentious ass, instead of just telling them who he is and hoping they'll learn to like this sort of music, you're turning them away from the genre and ensuring that they'll keep on listening to miley cyrus.

  • @hanketsu1337 whos miley cyrus im not joking

  • 21 pessoas sem senso de arte xD

  • @esteban3527343 I don't mean to be rude, but how old are you?

  • @esteban3527343 AMEN to that!

  • I get goose bumps everytime i listen to his, I rly love four seasons but winter is just the most beautiful part. If u have the chance u should listen to this live on original instruments it's just amazing.

  • I listen to this at least 3 times a week as I fall asleep. If you want a sound sleep, you don't need to have a good mattress, you need a good sound.

  • I'm listening the first hint of autumn brrr....

  • @mudd662 Me too....

  • What a fantastic composure of music, quite difficult to pull off on guitar though, as is any classical piece.

  • EARGASM!

  • sounds like someone's lurking out there :D

  • winter is coming.

  • @esteban3527343 I bet your popular. For what its worth though I completely agree : )

  • by the way, listening to this makes me miss the snow... that takes work! haha

  • I have nothing against miley cyrus, but she doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the comments for THIS music, until people still adore her after hundreds of years.

  • Do you all want a fucking medal for listening to this or something? Quit whinging about other people's taste in music and enjoy the show.

  • @SuperBenOi That's the problem with classical music fans: they can be such snobs sometimes.

  • @SuperBenOi Amen, sir.

  • @esteban3527343 meh its just a matter of taste some people preffer simple music you should'nt criticize...

  • i am a huge fan of hip hop/trance and r&b and i really like vivaldi *-*

  • Exceptional that is

  • @footballfullback That's true but there is a difference between exception music(such as Mr Vivaldi) and crap.

  • i cant wait for winter honestly. with the upcoming intence solar activity

it should be a sparkely and interesting one.

forests of norway can look like a clip from a disney movie at times.

to bad wer`r cutting it down..

  • 21 assholes viewed this

  • 21 people hate winter

  • so effin AMAZING!i could dance to this all night without sleeping.

  • Comment removed

  • @666metal666me I Totally agree with you, i came across this when in a time of heavy grunge seattle music years ago and it totally below me away!!! it is pure pure beautifull expression, i cant even find words for it!!!

  • @esteban3527343 i have no objection to modern music. you must understand that in modern times it's easier for teenagers to get into that type of music. enjoyment of all music is best :)

  • @numex106 Either way, Miley Cyrus still sucks.

  • listening to this makes me ashamed of my CD collection

  • i beleive the part beginning @ 3:43 is known seperatly as Gabriel's Oboe

  • I smile whenever I hear this because it's so epic.
