  • Firstable, only organic farmers should be on the Organic Trade Association Board of Directors.

  • LOVED the video! We need more people like you to help expose the lies that allow the OTA and the food industry to profit at the expense of our health.

  • Where is the evidence that these "highly toxic GE foods are responsible for the obesity epidemic?" I have never seen or heard of a study that proved a connection between GE foods and obesity nor toxicity to humans. This video makes far to many unsupported claims to be convincing in any way.

  • I didn't have tO watch this video to know this was going on. It's a shame that organic food can not be trusted and if you grow your own food, chances are Chem trails will make your home grown unhealthy as well. And don't tell me you will just use flouresent lights... Do you think we could live and grow off of flourecents and live healthy? Nope! And neither can plants

  • If you have a head on your shoulders it wouldn't be hard to imagine that they would be putting more flouride and harmful additive hidden in organic food. Because these evil folk know that the people they should be most afraid of are the health co tikis people

  • That sucks those disgraceful evil people are trying to poison the world I won't buy anymore of there products f*** that how ignorant and corrupted the unitedstates retarded govenment has grown over the last decades

  • awesome video,, which shines a light on the corruption, interconnectedness, and conmen.

we must even be leary of supposed action groups and who is really funding them

  • VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLAR - BUY ORGANIC

  • @ENJOYOURMATRIXX i think that is a contradiction.. Vote with your FOOD - GROW ORGANIC!

  • THERE IS A WAY TO KEEP HEALTHY EVEN THO THEY ARE TRYING TO POISSON US! CONTACT ME AT NELSON.KALA@YAHOO.COM TO GET INFORMATION!

  • WE HAVE TO FIGHT WE HAVE TO STAND UP !!!

  • WOW...this is dis-heartening! I am totally in support of organic food...BUT this informative video shows that there is way too many political and self-serving interests involved! I appreciate being informed about this and hope that we see a complete shift against gmo happen soon! HOPEFULLY

  • All Whole Foods customers: Part 2

There is no stated commitment to avoiding gmo ingredients in their prepared foods. Sometimes they use gmo-free canola and sometimes they don't. They keep whining "it's too hard"... BS! They should commit to using ONLY non-gmo crops in their prepared foods. Sunflower oil instead of canola. No conventional edamame, beets, corn, etc. But, the problem is mostly the oil! Please pressure your local store or corporate offices to stop making the easy profit!

  • All Whole Foods customers: Part 1

Please take a moment to write a complaint at the front desk (they have forms) saying you want ALL gmo's out of the store but, at the very least, WF should stop being sneaky about their marketing. They claim that "the Whole Foods brand" doesn't have gmo's. They are ONLY talking about the "365" brand. They are selling bakery items labeled "Whole Foods" that don't have the same standards and the prepared foods use almost all canola or soy oils!

  • Although I think attempts at labeling are a waste of energy, I DO support the activism of OCA and their Millions Against Monsanto campaign to bring awareness to gmo consumption and try to get stores (especially Whole Foods) to stop carrying food items with probable gmo's. WF claims it's too hard and I say bull. They don't accept msg or artificial sweeteners from their vendors. They can have the same policy for any foods containing suspected gmo's. We don't need 8 brands of corn chips!!!

  • Don't waste your energy on trying to get gmo's labeled. BUT, THERE IS A WAY TO GET GMO'S OUT OF OUR FOOD SUPPLY! Check Responsible Technology website and learn about the Tipping Point Network. 1, learn about possible gmo health dangers. 2, help educate consumers (including restaurants and store mgrs) about these risks. When corporations start losing a few % of customers because of gmo ingredients, they stop using them! When one co. stops, often others will follow. It happened in Europe!

  • Although OTA has no obligation to fight for GMO labeling because I don't think that action fits the organization's mission, it IS VERY DISTURBING that the board members have such obvious conflicts of interest. That's the problem... these corporations bought organic companies to make a profit... not out of a commitment to healthy food. I agree that these bd mbrs should commit to removing GMO's in their own corporations (and set the standard... lead the charge!) ... or else they should resign.

  • I'm a dedicated organic consumer. GE labeling will NEVER happen. I'm a Democrat but I see that both parties are totally under the biotech thumb. OTA, as an organization, has no mission to fight for GMO labeling. Their organization's mission is to promote organics and organic companies. The Organic Consumers Association (OCA) is the organization who has taken up that fight. They have a "millions against monsanto" campaign.

  • GMOs are a eugenics operation. They do inter-generational damage to families fertility; they also damage internal organs and make you age faster. I buy all local organic food.

  • @GaiaInfinitus - Well, not really. There were just people around *observing* it.

  • Great video! We will implement GE and GMO labeling if we adopt Obama's catch phrase: "YES WE CAN"!

  • Fact is - it's not going to happen the government is out of control with corruption. America is lost.

  • Corp Organic Food Brands Don't Want GMO Labels

  • @GaiaInfinitus - It's not "recently been proven". It's been known for hundreds of years.

The orange variety were bred in the Netherlands in the 17th century, and became very popular overnight, resulting in their continued popularity today.

  • @frostek Not just that. Most things. Corn, broccoli, strawberries, so many things, made by man, their genetics radically altered. Tomatoes, potatoes, beans, they were borderline poisonous. Grapes, apples, cherries, bananas, they were seedy or sour and generally unpleasant before man changed their DNA. The University of Washington has a great talk by a guy (whose lab was destroyed by anti-GMO arsonists) on this subject I recommend anyone interested see. Google UWTV Genetically Engineered Food

  • What the fuck have genetically engineered foods done besides save a billion lives? I say fuck genetically engineered foods, who cares if 2 billion people would starve to death with an all organic world agriculture...

  • @metalslugxBTB What have GE foods done besides save billions of lives? Well, for starters, due to the promises made by the GE crop manufacturers (that they cost less to grow, and that they use less water for growing), their inability to perform to these standards worldwide have caused many farmers to lose entire seasons worth of crops. Not to mention GE crops (the new GE Rice that Gates just put $20M to sponsoring) causes nutritional deficiencies. So what have they done? Extensive Damage.

  • The crazy thing is that these evil globalists are killing themselves, along with us, because they're dumb enough to eat their own toxic shit! What a shame the sheeple refuse to WAKE UP! That corporations claim that GE foods are all "natural". What kind of braindead zombie believes this bullshit?!!!

  • @toodance - telling on myself? Telling that I don't trust "anonymous" spies who are afraid to put their name on their posts. I say who I am, and my work and the organizations I have worked for have done more for the integrity of food than whatever coward put this online.

  • Thanks for creating this video. Very important information!

  • This is crap. I am the founder of Organic Seed Alliance, have been in lawsuits against USDA and Monsanto, and fought for organic integrity for years. OTA continues to fight against GMOs - heck I am on policy calls with them weekly on it - and has been strengthening their stance and position over the years. No large trade organization is perfect, but suggesting that biotech companies have taken over organic via OTA is conspiracy thinking - some of my fellow watchdogs have gone rabid!

  • @mjd67 thanks for telling on yourself. btw: the new weasel word the transnational GE biotech agribusiness has adopted is "biodiversity"

  • @mjd67 looks pretty cut and dried to me I pray your are correct!

  • looks pretty cut and dried to me I pray your are correct!

  • The organic trade association has consistently supported the labeling of organic foods, the entire premise of this video is false.

  • @kajkibak lol... the money trail, and blatant corporate vested interest revealed, with sound documentation is the premise of this video.

  • @toodance A money trail doesn't mean anything, how can they certify things as organics without the support of all farmers, big and small? The big villainy being perpetrated by the Organic Trade Association in this video is that because of corporate interest they don't support labeling organic foods, which is not true at all. Find one time that issue was put in front of the OTA and they DID NOT support labeling. This a classic red herring, and if you don't know what that is google it.

  • @kajkibak *squirt*. that's the sound of me spraying you, with troll-be-gone..*squirt*.

  • @toodance I wish I was a troll, because then I would simply say you are F*ckin retarded for believing some anonymous youtube video. You believe what you want to believe, but I am correct in saying that the primary villainy that he claims in this video has never in fact never happened. Good day sir, keep being a sheep

  • @kajkibak *squirt*

  • This is what we call controlled opposition.

Anyway, this is just one more example of what happens when the people of a targeted nation [US] allow themselves to be institutionally and chemically stupefied by a tiny, but very powerful, group of Banksters.

The most shocking thing to me is the fact that y'all absolutely refuse to fight back...you cannot bring yourselves to draw blood no matter how insidious the enemies is!

    Good luck with your lawyers.

  • @RadioFlyffer American's love their guns but are afraid of bullets.

  • @polidic HAHA! That's a good one...so true!

  • @woodsprout Yes I am ABSOLUTELY SURE high fructose corn syrup is not a Genetically Modified Product...look into it...you might be surprised at all the misinformation that infests the minds of unknowing victims

  • @Illiniwek07 ..... Where does high fructose corn syrup come from? Doesn't it come from corn? Is it not true that nearly all corn grown in the U.S. comes from genetically engineered (modified) seeds, of which Monsanto holds the largest market share?

  • @Ilaab1995 Yes. That is true.

  • @ArtByAir .... Thanks ! Now, one more question .... If g.e. (g.m.) corn is the base product for corn syrup, then is it not logical that its genetically modified properties are also present in the syrup?

  • @Illiniwek07 I have looked into it- deeply. You are very sadly mistaken.

  • I think they failed to realize that high fructose corn syrup is NOT a GE product, it's this kind of misinformation that plagues American society

  • @Illiniwek07 Are you SURE high fructose corn syrup is not a Genetically modified product?

  • creditability creditability creditability creditability creditability

    whoever posted this has none

  • @billlakey1 How about some example instead of writing "creditability" x 5 ?

Somehow 5 times in a row makes YOU credible ?

  • good work!

  • I like the video...however, I have got to say that the majority of the products from these companies are just plain junk! Even if these foodstuffs were organic and didnt have GMO's , they should NEVER be a food staple, but rather a snack. Go fresh and dont eat processed foods on a regular basis. Another way to attack the GMO market-if you can find a small organic grower that cans their own (example: jelly) and buy local!

  • Let's pass a law in the US to label GMOs. Lets do it to save our lives. Lets all do it TOGETHER NOW. AN IDEA... In January Senators introduced a bill that is one line long to mandate labeling of "genetically engineered fish". We could just change it to "genetically engineered food". The bill is Senate File 229 introduced by Mr. BEGICH, Ms. MURKOWSKI, Mrs. MURRAY, and Mr. WYDEN). Attorney Miller with National Health Freedom Action

  • @similars88 thanks for telling on youself

  • @toodance OOPS! I meant this comment for troll mjd67. I can't figure out how to remove. I totally support labeling GE foods, support millions against monsanto and like this excellent video

  • @toodance So I fight against Monsanto, I support labeling of GE foods - we only differ in that I think this tactic of attacking food companies who are not biotech companies is madness. OTA may not be perfect, but they are not Monsanto - who we should be fighting. Who is the troll? I identify myself. This video is cowardly.

  • @mjd67 yikes

  • @similars88 I meant my comment for troll mjd67. I totally support labeling GE foods, support millions against monsanto, and like this excellent video.

    I love your great idea!

  • Excellent presentation- very clear and direct. I learned some important information!

    Thank you Organic Spies!!

One thing I find unnecessary - making connections with obesity. I'm not convinced that overeating corn syrup is worse than overeating refined cane sugar.

  • OTA = Organic = non-GMO - Do the math. Conveniently missing from this piece is a nod to the work that the OTA HAS done in defending organic farmers from GMO drift and supporting the right to label RBGH dairy products. We need to see balanced views presented and are summarily gruntled by one-sided attacks.

  • @MsTyrie Your math is way off! The point is not just to protect Organic, but to protect Conventional products from GMO too!

  • @woodsprout Agreed! But, the OTA's mandate is understandably more narrow. The OTA is charged only with things organic... and, as you point out, the advocacy of GMO labeling is quite a bit larger in scope. Given that, the OTA should not (and does not) shoulder the responsibility of fighting for the labeling of GMO's alone.

  • @MsTyrie ~I would agree that the "OTA's mandate is understandably more narrow", ONLY IF the activities & the alliances of the board of directors reflected this. This video tells of those alliances.

This board of directors has MOST of their (outside of OTA) interests IN "the larger scope".

For that very reason they SHOULD be "shouldering" more responsibility for making GMO labeling happen. ...instead these other alliances are making them passive.

I support Organic 100%ers on the board.

  • @woodsprout There is nothing passive about the activities of Kelly Shea, one of the board members named here. She is a devout advocate of organic in her role with White Wave, Silk, and Horizon Organic. Check out her interview on the Townsend URL. Google NTERVIEW WITH KELLY SHEA

OF WHITE WAVE ON THE JAMES TOWNSEND

WEBSITE for some of my take on this.

  • @YourEnchantedGardene Perhaps Kelly Shea should be kept on the board.

I would like to see OTA promote a GMO labeling campaign.

  • @MsTyrie You mention a couple of things to credit the OTA with. But it is not enough! Where is the OTA support of labeling GMO's ??? Labeling GMO's is THE most important overall issue.

  • @MsTyrie I think gratitude for what the OTA has done is really essential. I would guess most people who watch this already know Organic means non-GMO. But maybe that information should be clearer. Assuming most viewers know this already, I think this video is very balanced and well-supported with sources.

  • @inanoctopussgarden Perhaps there is another video to be made (GMO Spies Find Lies) which, using the same content, points a finger-of-shame at these individuals who, through their work with the OTA while in the employ of Big Food, have participated in undermining the progress of their GMO enterprise. Same facts, different conclusion.

  • @MsTyrie Satire at it's finest!

  • WE NEED AN APP. on phones to scan groceries, to make sure food is on SAFE/ORGANIC list. FORGET TRYING to get this government to promote and protect safe food. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. We can, however, start to hit them in the purse, where it hurts.

  • @Fifirita Brilliant idea, I can imagine other effective apps to cripple other corporations and the gov!

  • @arturobastard I am so disappointed with the "appointed" corp. heads (ex..*Monsanto revolving door) *google it if not familiar) Im losing hope of winning any kind of real progress. The companies control everyone(s) pockets. What I CAN DO is STOP BUYING ANYTHING THAT is not USDA ORGANIC (and that is becoming increasingly suspect) and supporting local, seasonal organic farms/farmers. KEEP OUR ORGANIC FARMERS IN BUSINESS. look them up in your area and support. (ps.wish there was an app for that)

  • So, I do good environmental work, but my boss votes Republican -- does that mean I'm corrupt and right-wing? This is ridiculous and a good 'ol American "conspiracy theory". Yes, let's all resign from our good work (paid and volunteer) if who we work for, are married to, are friends with, live beside someone who isn't perfect.

  • @modomnoc I hear what you're saying. But how else are we supposed to affect change in such massive and bureaucratic companies, like Smuckers? I don't think writing letters to the GMO-profiting Board Members will change just like that. It is easier to simply replace them.

I don't think this means people are losing jobs or having to abandon meaningful relationships... Such closer-knit ties are not like those between board members/politicians representing masses of people, and those masses.

  • @modomnoc Your analogy isn't that fitting. Your boss voting Republican isn't the same as what he does for a living or how many millions/billions he has invested in something. ...something that is directly opposed to your "environmental work". Are you on a board of directors, directing something? ...policy?

  • It all gets down to the almighty corporate dollar. Rat bastards have taken it over. Good job Organic Spies!

  • More negative propaganda by the Biotech GMO proponent jerkoffs.

  • Fuck all this corporate shit, abandon the city's and grow your own food.

  • Wow. I had no idea the OTA was run by people with ties to the megacorporate food companies! Thanks for the video.

  • Great informational video! Keep up the work. Good grief, do people have morals and ethics anymore? It seems whenever money is involved people turn to low life scum. >: [

  • Great job and info!! Keep these enlightening videos coming!! Hawaii is one of Big Agra's GMO petri dishes, has been for years!! Ho'opomaika'iBlessings to you and yours! Love and Light~Aloha No!

  • Thanks for the info. We can take these criminals down!

  • I wish the orator was more commanding in her presentation. This issue is a passion of mine, but listening to her makes me yawn... and I doubt anyone that's not really convinced GMOs are evil probably would just move on.

  • @galleywench01 I completely disagree. I liked her voice - it was calm, straight forward & honest. I'm tired of hearing hyped up BS from the likes of Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman. Just give it to me straight without all the snarky self-righteousness from the Left that is SO incredibly annoying. The orator's delivery was right on point.

  • @BELLCHUB An "Orator" implies someone whose speaking skills are exemplary. This girl is certainly a nice person, but thinks "touted" is pronounced "tooted". She says "off of" when she means "from". Sloppy speech and diction like this has been influenced by the very corporations she's against, because they use the same sloppy speech all over the media to dumb people down and decrease expectations.

  • @galleywench01 Yes, decreasing people's expectations is the first step in controlling them, and this sort of uninspiring speech is just like what the corporate media uses continuously to keep folks docile.

  • @galleywench01 I agree. Only seconds into the presentation, I as well was struckby the tonality of the commentator. In every sentence, the the pitch consistently dropped towards the end. This is what creates the 'yawn effect'. It makes a presentation less convincing, less professional, which in cases like this is something you would want to avoid at any cost. NLP emphasizes this point, sales trainings emphasize it. Tonality and intonation matter!

  • I wish Chuck Norris would make all the bad people go away

  • @JBTGD Chuck Norris is a bad people.

  • come on OTA label GE foods!!!!
