There is a way to escape without being recaptured or shot. Take the compass papers and pliers to the far end of the tunnel. Take the pliers and the papers. Exit the tunnels and cut the wires. Drop the papers and reenter the camp recutting the wires. Go to the tunnel and get the compass. Re cut the wires drop the plier take the papers and you're free.
It is amazing the way that if you see this at this time it looks like crap but back in those days that brilliant atmosphere could capture you so much. I remember finding the big boss into the office rooms and you could shit yourself big time!
I have only played this on my mates Amstrad CPC back in the 80's and i loved it, i was over my mates house nearly every day after school trying to get Stevie to escape. Is it any good on the speccy?
Classic game, but waiting for the parcel every day made it a bit of a bit of a long -winded experience to get through. It definitely sums up the experience of living in a POW camp though.

Cheers mate! I originally said there were a few ways of completing it. In a way there is. But without the compass and the papers it's not a real escape.
Any suggestions on a good,user friendly Spectrum emulator? I'd love to indulge in some of these classics!
