  • Hmm why don't I have the split/demix option in my region toolbar? I have a "split" but just "split" and with in it a "split region by locator" and a "split region by playhead" which I personally assigned to the \ key. T__T MY LOGIC IS BROKEN T__T

  • i got one question which has been bugging me for months and i cant find a solution i want and baught a UX1 line 6 tone port (guitar interface) and it works fine in garage band when i choose it in midi settings but in logic when ever i swich the driver thing i get no sound at all its turns of all sound which is what confuses me cuz i only want what im putitng in my guitar not whats going out and its connected by usb you can google it its pretty well known device this would really help thanks :)

  • you rock bro. im new to the world of computer music and you've helped me, my axiom and logic beautify ! shits running smooth, Thank you

  • what font do you use for the intro?

  • it's like a karaoke turn off the singing part

  • record heart and soul duets one plays the right side and the left plays the other parts when put it together u can use the left right speaker it sounds kool.

  • You're awesome man. i wish you were my dad. i would feel safe.

  • 0_O

  • Is it somehow possible to create a key command for looping? This would be awesome.

  • yes just go to key commands and assign a key or controller to the "loop" function, theres several loop commands so just pick what you need.

and now I am seeing you posted this 3 months ago and proably have already figured that out, lol.

  • Thanks Padro. Yeah, 3 month ago, but still did not figure out how to do it :-) Even does not find a keycommand for creating a midi region....

  • Thanks for the great tutorials. You've certainly made learning logic easier. I have tried finding the raw files in Itunes but can't find them. Do you have the url to where the raw videos are kept?

    Thanks

  • this is good, theres some other good videos on tutormetvdotcom. It helped me with my midterms

  • go to your finder. (im supposing you're on a mac.) then go to the menu "go" then sub-menu: idisk. then select other users public folder. enter sflogicninja. it'll open his shit up in your finder. (go>idisk>other users idisk folder...) hope this helps

  • Cheers - that's a big help. I thought I had to have my own MobileMe account to do that.

  • Dave -

I too have an MAudio Keystation Pro 88 with the nifty transport buttons over on the left. Tried your method for assigning the transport key commands to those buttons and it *kind of* works. I have to hit each button twice before Logic does what the button is supposed to make it do. Any ideas why this might be happening?

I've got further information, if it will help, but I'm close to the character limit.

    TIA!

And really wonderful job on the tutorials. - PH

  • The transport buttons on my Keystation work funkily as well....

    I'll figure this out...

    *bows*

  • Might it help to use Enigma to set up the transport buttons to send the MMC messages directly?

I was having similar issues with my Axiom 49, but once I set up the transport buttons for MMC codes--and remembered to turn on all the MMC options in Preferences/MIDI/Sync/MIDI Sync Project Settings.

This way, with MMC commands, Logic knows immediately that you're trying to push "play," etc.

    Hope this helps!

  • The question about USB microphones is asked alot, because they're not supported by Logic. The solution isn't as simple as you described.

In order to get around the problem you need to assign the mic to an auxuliary device in Mac Audio MIDI Setup, which also has your desired output assigned to it. Then select this device from the dropdown menu in Logic Prefs. and you're good to go.

  • Oh! Is this an aggregate devices situation? hmmm. I was unaware.

    Thanks or the help,

    *bows*

  • @deepfocusdnb Logic does support USB mics. I used an AT2020 out of the box.

  • FINALLY...i saw ALL of your videos...up to date lol very educational to say the least heh looking forward to ur new videos

  • thanks Dave I got my M-Audio oxygen V2 working

  • Love your stuff Ninja, keep up the great work!

  • What is Bouncing? I see it all the time but can't find an explanation :(

  • bouncing is what you do when your done like exporting or saving the song hence"bouncing to disc"

  • "Exporting" or "Sending" a track... its how you get it from the LSO to a music format such as MP3

  • You Rock!!!! You are by far the best teacher on logic out there. That being said...... How do you know all this stuff?

  • At certain angles, the Ninja looks like the kid from Superbad.... but grown up...

  • Oh GOD. Which one? (Dare I ask)

  • The skinny one.... Not the mini Seth Rogan....

  • Oh.....oh good....whew....

    Lulz.

    *bows*

  • You got a new screen zoom thing cool haha. Thanks for the vids, you should compile them to dvd. I'd buy them. Cheerz

  • Hey GREAT VID, QUESTION. Im trying to Create

The MPC Style Note Repeat? When I try to do it it doesnt sound like an Mpc Style? Is It Under Groove Templates, ( i just thought about that when i typed that. thanks

  • One option would be to use Ultrabeat's sequencer as a note repeat function. You could load your samples into the EXS24 sampler, and then use a bus track to have UB's sidechain listening to the EXS's output and whatever you put into UB's sequencer will play in that pattern.

The Ninja actually has a video in which he does it with one the other instruments, I think the ES2, but it can be done with any instrument through bus tracks.

  • Hey Dave you answered my question on seperating drum parts but how can I give them each their own mixer channel?

  • Make it a multi-out Ultrabeat or EXS24, and there will be a little '+' sign at the bottom of the channel strip. That'll create a whole bunch of channel strips that relate to the UB or EXS. Assign the outs on the UB or EXS per voice/zone/group

    Have fun!

    *bows*

  • Hey SFL....where can I ask my questions to get answered?

  • email me. It's in almost all of my videos.

    use my .me email...

    *bows*

  • OMFFGGG MOLDOVER!!!!!

  • cool. i would like to ask what is "the hotness"?

  • im going to be at wmc...weeeeee

  • Awesome you have the same keyboard as me. If I wanted to say use the knob B10 to automate the cutoff on an autofilter would I do that through a learn command still or is it different?

  • I see a "Watch in HD" link. Maybe it doesn't show up as fast because it takes longer to convert?

  • Yaaay! The Ninja on Twitter! Great! I heart Twitter. I'm mrfresh there. Thanks so much on the split/demix topic in your vid!! All the best David. I send all Logic Pro learners here.

  • whats your email?

  • NO HD? Grrrrrrrr.

Oh well. Hope you all can make it out. I'll repost if I can find out why this screwed up.

  • Yay! HD in the HOUSE!
