The mass psychologists have a name for this split - Bicameralism.. but in their version, the schism was inherent among the ancients (the other way around) and that it explains why the ancients wrote about interactions with the divine, etc. - that the left brain was not properly developed yet until some point in fairly recent history, and everyone was schizoid. And supposedly, we're 'cured' now humans are more 'rational'...
