  • ...and 6 years later hes still using that same yellow pick in wembley. i love you muse. <3

  • Muse rocks.....

  • this is more chaotic than the studio version... PERFECT

  • muse is a drug thats good for you

  • Yeah! Muse is great! ;-)

  • OOS TOUR DARKSHINES >>>> Reading DarkShines.

    Bar FRICKIN NONE !

  • when live version >> studio .. u know it is muse !

  • i love this song...........................

  • Is it wrong that i want to TANGO to this at my wedding? In fact, my entire reception will be compromised of MUSE!

    Hellz yea!!

  • I, and many others get to hear this live a month today. I CANT FUCKING WAIT!

  • Megalomania, Screenager, This, Microcuts, CE, HYPER MUSIC! basically the only ones not played in every single gig except for CE someitmes

  • Reading and Leeds and that kid in th ebeginning is so lucky!

  • Should be a like button and a MUSE button

  • My Question is Why In Gods Name is there a Dislike button for any muse Song instead of a dislike it should be a Orgasmic bar nuff said!

  • not to mention the lyrics are also impresive...

  • I discover this today, i hear it today, i love it forever! :D

  • 3 people has their ears so dark

  • @arejieda You should be able to hack the system. That would be a great hack indeed...

  • i don't like .. I LOVE

  • That's a dark bass line

    Reminds me of Thriller

  • Bass line reminds me of Thriller

  • best muse song for me !!

  • Chris said that they're never playing this song ever again after Reading. RIP to the best song off OoS. I hope the performance at Reading will be amazing because it will be its last. :(

  • @Kenshin11212 its the last for all OoS songs with the exception of maybe 1 or 2

  • @tdrider2008 1 or 2? Hell to the no way Matt will be getting rid of the big hit staples, New Born, Feeling Good, Plug in Baby, Bliss, and Citizen Erased are staying. Everything else it gone. And I know it hasnt been played in almost 10 years, but I'd still like the chance to be able to see it at least once in my life.

  • @Kenshin11212 dude u just named off the only OoS songs they play, most of those are gone... Citizen Erased is only played in Stadium Gigs although they have a ton of those, new born, plug in baby, are always played and feeling good and Bliss are played often however i'd be suprised if more than just new born and plug in baby survive this

  • @tdrider2008 Um...Of course I just named off OoS. Isn't that what we're talking about? Citizen Erased gets played at stadiums and sometimes non stadium shows. I got CE back in October when they played New Jersey. New Born, Plug In Baby, and Feeling Good get played pretty much every show. Those and Supermassive Black Hole are their biggest hits and get the biggest reactions from casual fans. No way those are getting thrown away. Bliss and CE will always make random appearances.

  • @Kenshin11212 dude u said no way will matt be getting rid of new born, feeling good, PIB, Bliss and CE but those are hte only OoS songs they play anymore no other songs from OoS have been played since hte BHR tour other than Micro cuts, im just saying they said most of OoS will be no longer be played so I expect CE to make apparances at big gigs and PIB and New Born to stay consistent however Feeling good and bliss are gone i imagine

  • @tdrider2008 I heard Feeling Good live last October on their U.S. tour.

  • @peacefultorture ya they played it often during hte Resistance tour ....

  • @tdrider2008 It gets played in every tour they play, they play it too much in my opinion esp when its a cover. i'de love to see them play this song which will never happen or Hyper Music just to get the crowds buzzing that little bit more

  • @Kenshin11212 its the last for all OoS songs with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 and darkshiens they havent played in liek 10 years anyways so doesnt change much

  • @Kenshin11212 Muse are well known for doing something special and different at Festivals as they believe its a whole different show and atmosphere to there usual gigs so you can gurantee they will rock the fuck out on stage. I'm sure they will show the energy they used to almost as itll be songs they havent played for a while so theyll be fresh music to them.

  • August 28.. CANT WAIT!

  • NO WORDS.

  • @EleDjdupa why did you comment then? :-P

  • @MUTEgrc Lol

  • Hold your hands up to your eyes again, hide from the scary scenes and suppress your fears...

  • Matthew Bellamy - Greatest Guitarist EVER!

  • We don't mind if you think new Muse area is shit, let people enjoy it if the want, if they feel it right, and only fuck peoples who don't respect the love we can feel for the most beatiful thing in the world : just Music. We just can't all feel the same thing about music, but probably some guys here are too stupid tu realise that music feelings are a PERSONAL thing, don't think you're fount of knowledge, The Resistance lovers, and above this, TRUE MUSE lovers just don't care at all.

  • I mean COME ON just compare Muscle Museum, Hyper Music, Citizen Erased, Stockholm syndrome, Dark Shines or Showbiz to ANY song on resistance, isn't it obvious that Muse is freakin' DEAD ?!!

  • i dont believe this is live..a live performance cant be soooooo goood!!!!!!!

  • 3 people like Justin Bieber

  • I love Muse ..

and in general- I loveeeee ... and They sound so sexy!!!

  • I just listened to Darkshines really loud and I swear it feels as if my ears got wildly f*cked! I'm all flushed and bothered, pretty sure I just had an aural orgasm

  • Niesamowite = amazingly awesome

  • those japanese guys, they got an extra track, they should have done that for all the countries

  • @prueba007 YOu do realise that "those japanese guys" gets to pay a lot more for their albums and dvds?

  • @prueba007 i guess that is why they are the only ones in 2010 to get Dead Star while we get Citizen Erased, which is also a good song as well.

  • Passing By, She Lights Up MY Darkest Skies....

  • Often makes me cry and I really don't know why... It's surreal... It's transcendent....

  • how many matthew bellamys does it take to change a light bulb?

    none because darkshines!!!

  • @unitedteddys aaahahaha vintage youtube comments humour

  • @unitedteddys I think, by simply reading your comment, my expected life span was just reduced by 10 years...

  • @unitedteddys Nice anology... xD

  • @unitedteddys that was so cheesy, in the most awesome way ever. Thanks XD

  • one time was just not enough. replay!

  • The old and new Muse is great, thats why they are called an experimental band. They like to experiment. And I think the reason why Matt says in one of the interviews about the 2011 album being more personal is they I think Muse cannot take anymore of these Twilight shits going around. They miss it when people scream their song names and they know that they are about to rock our socks off!

  • This has got to be one of the best bands there is! Muse is one of the very few bands i know that sound just as good live as they do recorded!

  • This song has it all! Makes me want to learn drums and bass. And that inhuman scream of Matt's that's still musical and full of emotion. Unreal!

  • I love this song. Muse forever!

  • they are playing on the strings of my soul !!

  • My life had change to better by Muse

  • 3 people got bringed down by darkshines (y)

  • that kid at the start of the vid , was on the start of the UNO video, like the same actions too : /

  • The bass line is kickin !

BTW i love matts hair ;D

  • This is what i think is so awesome about muse. Matt can sing and seem like he has all these weird effects on his voice, but it really just him. That takes talent.

  • I which I could attend all theses gigs. Whenever i watch an old video, I get more and more the impression that I missed the most important in Muse's carreer :(

I only attended to Stade de France in June, It's quite something !

  • I can't help it, but Matt seems to be channeling Edward Scissorhands with his look in this clip. I've seen other clips from this tour, and I just can't help making the comparison. Then again, I love everything about Muse....

  • Isn't this from when they played at Le Zenith, Paris? This song isn't on the Hullabaloo-DVD :S

  • @kjkyfr Read the description. "From the Japanese version of Hullabaloo"

  • My Favourite muse song :D , Mat, WOW whatta guy ! :) Fittt :) mmmm,

Haters can do one tbh, New muse is good, old muse is good , i hate it when people say 'muse was better before the became popular' .. and ?

    Gah!

    :L

Muse ftw. Matt is god. Muse is Religion. :)

  • @itzeliciouslove That makes the two of us.

  • Surpuissant !!!

  • @itzeliciouslove me too....

  • This Could Easily Be Theyre Video Clip For This Song !!!!!

  • matts vocals here... <333333

  • love this version of the song, especially the guitar

  • Say all that you want, but I still think they lost their initial quality... And believe me it was hard for me to see that... But since neutron star colision was released I got to think resistance was made for Twilight the Twilight series...

  • this must be the most underrated song of Muse. It has an amazing drum, a monster bass, a passionate guitar solo and...the voice of Matt is how an orgasm for me...

Sorry for my poor english...Muse must be forever and ever

  • This and Glorious are seriously their gems.

I wish they would play them more.

But i suppose that's why they are the best, 'cause no one knows them. ^^

  • Where was this vid recorded ? Matt says "Merci" at the end of the song. Was it in France ? You noticed it as "japanes version of hullabaloo"... I'm kinda lost !...

  • @diboan the concert was recorded in france but the "japanese version" is of the dvd sale. darkshines was only released as audio for hullabaloo in europe.

  • ottima.. peccato che l'8 giugno 2010 San Siro .. non la canteranno.. ma Muse.. troppo fortiiiiiiiii

  • HOW CAN SOMEONE DISLIKE THIS ?!?!

  • @MsPwoper Drunkness...

  • @Stover36 probably

  • OMG!!!! I HAVE TO HEAR THIS LIVE!!!!!!

  • where's the piano?:( i like it

  • When I listened to this, I was actually thinking that it is the studio version 0_o

I didn't watch the video (had to do some work) and didn't believe it when I looked at the screen. I hardly heard a difference to the studio version until 2:45 , but that's just another prove that Muse is the best live band Ever!

  • @TheRobot13 Its because Matt is an insane singer and the guitar part isn't AS crazy complex as their other songs. It's a fun simple beat that is easy to play yet EPIC to hear! The song is AMAZING and you are completely right!

  • best Dark Shines solo ever i swear... it's unbelievably good!

  • @Tommage1985 The whole thing is amazing! I heard it when I had my Media Player on randomize and it's now one of my fav. Muse songs!

  • I'm so happy that I was at this concert^^

It was the best day of my life ;)

And yeah all the Muse albums are great, but I like Matts voice much more in the older days...

  • DUDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I HATE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this was their best times and the best gig ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate that in those times I listened to happy punk shit..... now I've got into much serious music and my fav band is muse!! and yeah they're still great but not as great as showbiz/ origin!!!!!

  • amazing voice!!!!

  • listen to the bass in this song!-- O.U.T.S.T.A.N.D.I.N.G!!

i agree with EJRocky i love differences between the albums! e.g when i'm pissed off or sad i listen to OOS xD i go crazy with Absolution! hmm..maybe sth more electronic and 'mature'..BH&R!! i listen to beautiful young Matt...inSHOWBIZ!! and i want to slow down, relax or think sth over...The Resistance:) maybe i'm joking a bit but seriously i love all albums, they're different THANK YOU MUSE! oh and thank you for Hullabaloo ;D

  • my favorite song of all time

  • Fuck the Resistance haters.

Yes, early Muse was fantastic, but I love the new just a much as the old. Because it's all the same three guys - they just change.

And that's it. Bands change. Nothing is stopping you from picking up your copy of OOS and playing it if you want to hear it.

All of Muse's albums FOREVER, that's what I say ^_^

  • not only the Resistance album did change.

    All there albums changes.

if you listen to the albums you hear that they always change ther music style... ;)

  • A very valid point!

In sequence, listen to Fillip, Plug In Baby, Time Is Running Out, Exo Politics, and then Uprising. A history of Muse's sound in five songs.

Plus, it was so long between BH&R and The Resistance, that all the pre-Resistance tracks became "classic"... and anything new sounded weird and unfamiliar.

I love The Resistance! And after reading Animal Farm, let alone 1984, the music on it became so much more beautiful =]

  • @EJRocky exactally! Also, just listen to MK Ultra and the Exogenesis songs. HOW can anyone hate those???

  • Well, it's a matter of taste. Each to their own. Just because I like a song, doesn't mean everyone else on Earth has to.

And by the way, crunchmatch, that's not what I meant. I was saying fuck the haters, not people who dislike the album. The term "Hater" goes way deeper than someone simply hating something.

The Resistance just takes getting used to. I've listened to the songs for ages, melted them in with all the others on my MP3 player, and now they're just as Musey as the rest =]

  • the thing is, im listening to any specific older album much more than the resistance even now.

Its just... weaker. Theres definitely awesome musicianship behind it, but it just doesnt hit as hard.

  • It does for me. I've listened to it a LOT, and it just takes some getting used to. At first, I thought "hmm, this is a bit unfamiliar" and I never thought I could accept it as real Muse.

Now I've gotten used to it, it's just as Musey as any other album. It's all a matter of taste, as is all music.

Basically, I fucking LOVE The Resistance =D

  • @EJRocky

same here, i also had to get used to it

but, mmm yeah, i miss the origin of symmetry era:/

  • @EJRocky I totally agree, but after being a Muse fan for as long as can be.. and only seeing them live just recently... it would be the greatest gift in the world if I could just see them play songs like Dark Shines, Thoughts of a Dying Atheist, Fury, Muscle Museum, Dead Star and Showbiz live..

  • @DDabs

Oh yeah, no doubting that. But I was saying that bands evolve, and I love The Resistance as much as any other album.

I would go absolutely NUTS if they played those songs live. But fact is, if a new album comes along, there are gonna be some old songs pushed out. But, you never know, Wembley's coming. I have a feeling they're gonna pull out something special ;)

  • @EJRocky They did promise, in a recent interview, that there was going to be UFOs...

  • @EJRocky i agree and i think that it's not like they changed at all.. i think they just grow up :)

  • @EJRocky The resistance is a lesser album than their previous works, and everyone knows it. Muse are a great band and having a bad album dosent stop them from being amazing, but I feel like their recent album was a dig at trying to go more mainstream pop, which worked.

  • @EJRocky They made the Resistance more to focus on the big festival gigs and speak to the crowd. They said their new album is gonna be more intimate again. So yeah. Resistance was good as well, Muse is just epic in many different ways. Looking forward to the new album!

  • @TharrGuardian

Speak to the crowd? the last 2 concerts that i went to, they only said "thanks" a couple times, and thats it...

MUSE was the best live band, now they stand in their positions on stage, can't move their heads because the camera must be filming them... i miss all the jumps and crazy sh*t they used to do.

  • @jm1jonas I ment speak to the crowd as in making music for large scale performances, for the crowd. Sorry for that :p

And yeah, they used to be way crazier :( I do remember the 1st of July when Matt threw his glitterati at Dom.

Ah, the good old days where Dom gets bombarded with guitar. :>

  • @EJRocky i totally agree with you yo. I still blast Oos and the others in my car....i still cannot find hullabaloo CD though....

  • @EJRocky Yeah..but great bands and people can change into bad...

  • @bobek3x

    It's not "bad", just different.

I don't really give a shit what you think, because I love Muse new and old. If you don't, that's fine, but don't state your opinions as fact.

  • @EJRocky Sorry man, but youre the one attacking people who don't like the new Muse. You're the one not accepting our opinion. Muse are my favorite band of all time, but I just don't like their new material except for some songs. Plus I think they aren't that good live, as they used to be. Calm down and open your mind..

  • @bobek3x

Excuse me? I'm not fucking "attacking" people who don't like "new Muse".

If you actually bothered to read my comment, I said I like the "new Muse". And if you don't, then I'm cool with that. I respect people's opinions, I'm a very each to their own kind of guy.

Who I AM attacking is haters. And that doesn't mean people who simply hate it. That's their opinion, I have no beef with it. But HATERS. People who constantly spout shit about it, and won't shut up.

  • That's it, I'm out. I have far better things to do all day than argue with some retard over the internet.

  • @EJRocky Hehe when u can't find suitable arguments just leave the conversation...

    High mental level!

  • @21stCenturyDeadline

I was out of it until you showed up. I didn't even remember this. Stop trying to start shit up again.

  • @EJRocky Its just 1 month ago ... -_-

  • @21stCenturyDeadline

    Exactly. One month.

It's ONE argument on ONE YouTube video, ffs. I didn't even remember it the next bloody day, let alone a month. You'd have to be a total saddo to remember an internet argument for a month.

  • @EJRocky I love all of their albums. I don't care if it's new Muse or old Muse. They will ALWAYS be awesome!

  • @EJRocky Fuck the Resistance lovers. Muse has clearly become some soulless money machine.

  • @raiduk

    Fail troll is fail. 1/10.

Nobody puts any effort into trolling nowadays -.-

    Nevertheless, don't feed him, people.

  • @EJRocky So common nowadays to call everyone a troll. Resistance is pure shit, you just don't have enough musical background to realise it. It's a boring pseudo-experimental pop mix up with soappy melodies and ridiculous lyrics. And the live performances...let's just not talk about it ><

The fans are entirely right to be mad i think.

    Now call me a troll.

  • @raiduk

Yeah, you're still a troll. You're just calling me out, accusing me of having "no musical background" and just being a dick to me for no reason that I can see.

I'll leave it here. Your stupid brain will, of course, think "yeahh I totally pwned him i r winner", as is the usual troll train of thought. But I have better things to do with my time than argue with some idiot over the internet.

  • @raiduk OK LOL. Your post confirms only one thing : you don't know what a troll is xD

Also, I don't think i powned you since you have refused to explain to me why you think this album is so good. I would recommand you to listen to the last radiohead or QOTSA to see what change in music really means.

((((Btw, sorry if i seemed a bit agressive))))

  • best concert ever...

  • prob my fav Muse song, shame they never play it live

  • why japanese versions always have something extra?? I want the truth!!

  • @idelta777 It's cause hard copy cds cost way more in Japan, so artists put some extra stuff on to make them worth it

  • dear muse,

please come to Los Angeles for your tour.

    sincerely,

    betteronblondes

  • aah this was the real muse. cave. sunburn. muscle museum muse. i want the old muse back :(

i dont like the resistance. come onnnnnnnnn. type pop muse :(

  • i like the live version better than the studio version!! I cant get enough of Muse! Bellamy is a genius! I would give my left nut to see these guys! lol

  • this guitar playing changed my perception of music.

you can't say it about their last two albums.

however, give them a break. they're trying to change the world by becoming very popular band and convey revolutionary messages through their songs...

the new muse it about social change, no to make unique music.

  • I can't stop listening to this song. It's f*****g awsome. Hope they play it in their new tour. That is Muse !!

  • i came turing this song

  • sounds so bh&r,

    but still, MUSE OWNS!!

  • They rarely played this live even in the OOS days - correct? Great tune.

  • My soul just had an orgasm

  • The guitar solo is simple, but sooo powerfull and mystic...

  • Is it just me or does this sound a bit faster paced than the studio version? No complaints, just something i noticed.

  • Yeah, the tempo's definitely slightly faster.

  • lol all the songs in hullabaloo where speed up in tempo they went ballsout in this concert

  • the most unique Muse songs

  • i think we can all agree that muse has only one category, godlike. matt has the best voice in the business, followed by two solid musicians in their own right. and when they come together live, it is transcendent, i have seen them three times and they cease to not only amaze me, but give me a greater rush than any drug ive ever been on. muse will go down in history as on of the greatest live bands ever, and my favorite for the rest of my life.

  • I hear you man, I hear you!

  • @Sedated11 Couldn't agree more. Just out of curiosity, how many kinds of drugs have you been on?:)

  • @ThatBookGirl everything but meth. namely heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, acid, mushrooms, speed, marijuana. etc. and some combinations of the aforementioned. =/. sober for the last 3 years though =). barring alcohol on occasion.

  • Wow, you're not fooling around...

  • I love muse but they are barely progressive, I guess only songs like B&H and citizen erased can be classified as progressive..

  • Be mine and your innocence I will consume <3333!!

    MATT ILU <3333

  • man i LOVE this song. i kinda miss the off-key piano thing they put in before the chorus though, but it's still great.

  • bass effect is awesome

  • This song is so seducing, seems as though Matt is mesmerizing the crowd

  • this is probably my favorite muse song of all time... but I feel like this faster live version doesn't have quite the same depth...

  • Dude what are you talking about? o.O This live version is the same pace as the album version.

  • so it is... my memory is messed up. sorry =S

I guess I can live with it, even though it feels rushed to me... not really my place to question what the god of music does....

  • Wrong the solo part when it explodes is vastly faster...I can tell I was there this night...(and two others nights to enjoy this masterpiece)

  • Muse always takes it a step further live. What I'm saying is that the tempo throught is basically the same.

  • Typo correction: Throughout. (I hate typos)

  • great song!!

  • best muse song! i played this for one of my music GCSE pieces

  • i played starlight, but i should have played this

  • (...) that i have ever heard!!!*

  • Muse are pure rock alternative... the best pure rock alternative i've ever eard!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Their musical style is specifically prog rock, but in general they are an alternative rock band. In the modern sense, prog rock is a sub-genre of alternative rock, I'd say. So no one is wrong.
