  • You can learn as I did though I am not very good because opportunireis are minimal since I live in Canada..

    Aled

  • Omg same :\

  • I could watch her speak welsh for a long while.

  • Wow, I thought Asian people couldn't learn English over here in America, apparently they aren't doing well in Wales either.

    Immigration these days.

  • They're trying to speak Welsh, it's a very long village name. And to be honest, i've heard too many Americans attempt to speak Welsh and fail harder then Asians ever could.

  • Most American schools have a hard enough time teaching students English, let alone any second languages. I think it's harder as an American to get the hang of foreign languages at a later age because lingual skills aren't developed in younger years... especially non-Germanic languages with unfamiliar sounds, like Welsh. I have a really tough time with it!

  • Lol I wasn't taking a dig at America or anything, i was talking about the accent, it doesn't really help in trying to talk Welsh.

  • rydw i'n galli siarad cymraeg mae'n hawdd

  • er, ti methu sillafu...

  • i can just i aint botherd to think how to spell it

  • fair enough.

  • Agreed. Americans only care about their country, and saying that these Asians arent doing a good job is a seriously brave thing to say coming from someone who probably couldn't pin point wales on a map, let alone visit.

  • Cytuno. Mae Americanwyr m'ond yn poeni am ei wlad hwy, a ma' ddweud bo'r Asiaid 'ma ddim yn gwneud job da yn peth reit ddewr i ddweud yn dod o rhywun sy methu hyd yn oed dod o hyd i Gymru ar fap, heb son am ymweld.

  • Come now...calm down....take a deep breath... Not all Americans are that way. I'm American and I know a lot more about UK than many British people I've met! Let's not make blanket statements. Let's be friends.

  • Gee, thanks. As a hopelessly card-carrying American I shall feel honored to threat this compliment with the comtempt that is so richly deserves. But anyway...

What do you think about the effects of socialized medicine on the structure of Brithish Economy? Are you one of those people that can experience things deeply for the very first time? And, If one breaths in when they sould breath out and breath out when they should breath in, will one loose weight?

  • Really? I'm American and I can pin point Wales on a map. I could probably even pin point Cardiff.

  • assholes u can tell they wer acting, cos the camera wuz there

Mae'n hawdd i siarad cymraeg, GWELD!

  • hawdd! okay thats easy! bearing in mind that i'm fluent first language!

  • sorry to offend anyone, its just i was brought up on red dwarf not pokemon and i didn't start this conversation i was just being one of those people that like to say things. lol

  • LlanfairPwllgwyngyllGogerychwyndropwllLlantysylioGoGoGoch.

  • what does it mean? gwachmai i agree with ya.

  • It's a place in Wales :)

  • True tourists, enjoying the culture and language, a pleasure to have.

  • I take my hat off to them, they tried.

More than can be said of some english speaking louts abroad.

  • I wish I could trace my Welsh Lewis family tree. Due to a move to Northern Ireland, parents dying of small pox there, and all siblings having made it to Australia at their 18th birthday, my ancestor arrived at the U.S. because of a shipwreck. So that part of my family tree is so hard to trace but is the part I'm so curious about.

  • ????????????????

  • yeah they lived up the Street next door to the Lewis family at number 47 Southampton Road, Scumpton, SC1 4GF

  • hey you have celtic blood, that makes you welsh enough. any celtic blood is related.

english blood is related to holland and germany.

  • Hmm Dw i'n almaenaidd ond dw i'n dysgu cymraeg! Pam? Achos dw i'n licio siarad yr iaith :P

No idea wether the first part was correct ^^

  • Ddyweddaist ti 'I'm german but I'm learning welsh, because I like speaking the language'?

Dw i'n dysgu cymraeg hefyd, ond dydw i ddim yn rhugl.

  • what the hell? Thats a bit ignorant dontcha think ?

  • Wow!

    that was fantastic! wicked language!

    and hawwt girl!

  • qulaity!!!!

  • welsh hottie!

  • sounds like something out of lord of the rings

  • J.R.R Tolkien actually based elvish on the sounds of welsh :)

I guess it is the coolest language in the world! :P

Hoff iawn o'r vid btw :)!

  • that is right, his book the hobbit was taken from old welsh fairytales, all the stories were based around myths and ledgends surrounding the south wales area of " amman valley" "garnant" "glanamman" and the black mountains

  • my boyfriend of 2 years is welsh. and i never knew there's a welsh language! talk about close minded of me!

  • lol welsh is one of the oldest languages in europe.

    but your forgiven

  • lol

  • Chwara teg iddyn nw!

  • One can only say... It looks like someone let their cat walk across the keyboard, and called the resulting text onscreen Welsh. One only wonders how they came up with the spoken variety...

  • She's sooo hot

  • haha xD

  • Ha Ha! I come from Wales, and my grandmother is learning tyo speak welsh! Mor ddoniol!

  • Lol. Mae fy mam I yn trio hefyd on does dim clec da him am y iaith.

  • Hey ! With such a teacher, I could learn any language of the world ! Welsh is fine ...

  • she's really really pretty.

  • he assembly is good!- the main party is Labour! they are the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwy rndrobwllllantaseilogogogoch is actually quite a nice place

  • llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantaseilogogogoch

  • that girl is hot anyone agree? I think she's from another country.

  • It's called CULTURE. And thank god people still hold on to it. Everyday our world becomes more and more assimilated and therefor more and more boring.

  • I'm from Nottingham and I'm currently learning to speak Welsh myself. How's that; someone from England learning Welsh? I have a personal interest in the Celtic culture, language and history, and I thought I'd try and keep it alive today.

I thought that if I learn it, not only can I apply it in daily life (Wales speaks Welsh still), but I would be keeping an ancient language alive - well two, because English is ancient too. Still..70% of Wales can't speak it but oh well.

  • I love wales but sadley it is being destroyed by the welsh assembly. Did you know that they sell old people's homes while they are still alive. They sell the houses to get mony. They are destroying the NHS did you know 5 people have died in wales since the assembly started. Did you know that in some cases you can not get a doctor till the next day. If you would like to make your views about the assembly plese leave a comment.

  • ok im welsh and what katy wrote makes no sense!

  • The welsh get big headed ? .. yeah im welsh my love .... its a fuckin word for fuck sakes do you see us walking round chuffing because apprently the welsh have the longest word in the world which i didnt even know so what every part of the uk your from ... shove it up your arse .. especially if your english.. i cant fucking stand the english you think you fucking own everything ...baaaaaah go fuck a sheep :) .. as you have more sheep than in wales ... FACT!

  • Im chan Lloegr , namyn 'm dadau Cymraeg , blymi cara dde twat , yn deud casei Saesneg a at bod 'n anhyfreg 'n onest seiniau ata cara 'r chrynswth Dafad shagging beth gets atat bit HA

  • Well, Wales is ruled from England you know - but as a united Kingdom where all of the home nations work together. And England's going to have more sheep isn't it - it's about three times the size! I'm from Nottingham by the way, and I'm British just like you - not English.

  • lol I was joking about the whole sheep thing geez lol

Yeah I live in England to, my dads welsh but my mum is english

    lol xx

  • Care to explain why? The person who made this video is Singaporean, not Welsh.

  • Actually, the longest word in english is 189,819 letters long, and it is the chemical name of the largest known protein. However, it is disputable on whether or not it is a word (I wonder why...?). The longest actual word in english is 183 letters long that was coined by the ancient Greek comedic playwright Aristophanes. The 2nd longest (real) word is the place in New Zealand, Taumatawha...blah blah blah. :)

  • I said the longest "name" in the world, not word.

  • "and the longest word in English is:

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, which is a lung disease. Don't the Welsh get so big-headed over things like this." I was referring to that part of your comment. Your right though, the longest name in the world is New Zealand. The longest word in english is not Pneumonoultra....

  • MyAccountIsTakem, that's fine. Is all I was trying to say is that that place in Wales is so often paraded around as being the longest place name in the world, and people are always ignorant of the fact that it's actually a place in New Zealand.

  • Haha ok. Although the longest name/place in the world is never really a hot topic that my friends or I talk about, its all good hehe

  • lol re-read your comment Georgiahulse

    you said word, haha.

    gutted.

  • What's worse is you're a 16 year old nobody who has a hell of a lot to learn about the world, yet you still think you can tell a 29 year old woman what to do and how to think.

Get to bed anyway, mother'll be cross if you're not up for school in't morning.

  • you must be the nobody if you have time to repeatedly comment videos that you have no interest in.

lol and i dont see why you had to point out that im 16, its not like its relevant xD. if you're actually 29 start acting it.

dont be so narrow minded as to think that age should mean i cant voice my opinions and stand up for my culture.

  • You can google. I'm impressed.

  • I know... It's a gift really.

  • Georgiahulse if you have such an issue with the welsh culture then stop wasting your time viewing these videos and just fuck off.

you must obviously have no life if you have enough time to sit here and watch a vid on youtube that you dont even like anyway.

and who cares about the longest name anyway? stop making such a big deal of it.

    fuck you, pen pidyn. >.>

  • I have an issue with the claim of the longest word, not their culture - two different things!

I do have a life - how you can make such a bold statement based on a few comments I made is beyond me! And I don't just go on videos I like; this one is bound to attract debate.

Stop making a big deal of it? These people went so far as to create an account and upload an entire video, love - if that isn't making a big deal, I don't know what is.

Stop swearing and get some manners.

    Stoppon Korsi...

  • ...the person who made the video and uploaded it is from singapore..now please, stop making such a big deal out of it :p

  • they dont have to put a lisp on there

  • my family is from cardiff walse but i dont speak nor understand welsh but i want to learn

  • oi....who is that bird? She's dead sexy!

  • It sounds easy and you think German is easy witch i am currently studying at.

  • My town is twinned with a welsh, my town is "French", but not only, as this town is "British", but not only,we've both proper languages,OCCITAN=CYMRAEG.

English and French are great languages but, but , but...why not learning Welsh as are we're doing our best to learn our Occitan: with four languages and rugby in common values, we 'are the best;-):best wishes for Cymraeg and its future:"Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau" and the "Aqueras Montanhas" at the Millenium Stadium.Cymru am blyth visca Occitania!

  • Anyone know what that means??

LOL I love the welsh ... I've considered learning the language because of my heritage but not many people teach it

  • Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

  • im welsh

but i dont speak the welsh language

me and my family just have a welsh accent

    xx

  • Welsh uses the Latin alphabet, like English. There are a few letters missing, though..

  • they still use basically the same characters that the English use with the omission of the k, q, v, x & z.. and the addition of ch, dd, ff, ng, ll, ph, rh ,th.. but the Welsh do have seven vowels.. a, e, i, o, u, w & y

  • and extra ones put in

  • trust me some welsh is not easy. i have the expiriance of saying it all day :D

  • "Does welsh use the normal Times New Roman letters for their language",

umm....Times New Roman is a font, you complete dunce.

  • ahahahahahhahahahaha yeah really

  • I love Welsh. It helps clears the throat.

  • Good video, the blonde is lovely. I think I have Welsh heritage on my father's side. I would love to learn the language.

  • well obviously we do use vowels... because otherwise they wouldn't be in the welsh alphabet

    Fyccio ti a mynd ty

  • Jesus H. Christ, is there *ANYONE* from Wales with a sense of humour?

    Jesus wept, some people.

  • I'm from england, I just live in Wales, I do have a sense of humour, It's just annoying when people insult something just because they can't speak it etc. I could rip english people and you wouldn't like it. I don't have a problem wih you or anything.

I'de like to think I have a rather good sense of humour actually :P:P

  • You could rip not only the English, but me personally, my family and all those I consider close friends and I'd join in with you.

I am my own biggest "fun-poker", so nothing anyone could say would offend me. Trust me own that. I made two totally tongue in cheek videos on my account about Welsh people and damn near everyone started crying about it.

Too many people on Youtube take themselves far too seriously, my friend.

No offence taken, nor intended. I'm just up for a laugh, that's all.

  • piss off wanker

  • It Can't be classed as Humour if it wasn't even funny.

Fi'n Byw yn De Cymru, Ac mae Cymraeg yn Iaith Cyntaf fi ;]

    Cymru am byth! =)

  • dude you are all over youtube talking about how much you hate welsh. get a hobby please.

  • *ALL OVER* Youtube? What, 3 videos?

And your comment provides the perfect summary of why people don't get what I'm doing. You either have a hard time understanding the written word, or your just plain stupid.

It may be hard for you to grasp, but it's a JOKE. Something not meant to be taken seriously.

Jesus, you Welsh really are dense.

  • Welshey McWelsherson mayor of Welshville is mad.

  • You are a prick get a life and fuck off back to england there is nothing funny about what you are doing tell you what if i see you in the street im going to nut you GOT IT!

  • Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!

  • shw mae cymraeg rules want to learn it any good sites?

    CymruAmByth Bois :D

  • Im sorry but this is the longest official place name in the world

  • that russian didnt have a clue ha ha

  • mae hi'n ciwt!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You could do with learnin' a bit of english matey. Were you looking out of the window all the time at school?????

  • Thank you for this posting my Grandma spoke welsh and i wish i had learned it..it was so beautiful to hear i knew what she directed me to do or wanted yet i never retained a word!

  • ddiflas

  • we learn & speak welsh becouse we are proud of our country and our heritage.we have one of the oldest language in the world.

unlike the english, which i assume you are.

  • Why would people speak French? Or Spanish?

And actually Manderin (sp?) is more spoken than English =]

  • Ive never met anyone who doesnt speak english manderin, nope never heard it spoken i think its a tradition the welsh language and say things in secret but im not bothered by what you have to say so ill never learn welsh nice to keep tradition though i cant see it catching on outside of wales

  • ....it's spoken in parts of the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand actually too. Also Chubut Valley in Argentine Patagonia.

    :P

  • oh ty for for that well welsh do move out of wales suppose, but i cant see it being taken as language other than the welsh. can you see it catching on and if so why? or was you reffering to manderin?

  • also wales aint doin it to make it 'catch on' we're doing it cos u english are trying to kill out our language cos u all think ur all right and everyone should be like you all. but im glad im not english, i'd hate to be it.
