They pre-recorded the girl's voice (she just had to sing letters in different notes), and put it into a program where they can use certain notes to bring a song structure together.

i think miku's voice kind of fits with yuna's seiyu. i mean koda kumi's voice is on the lower scale. it was kind of weird when you are used to Aoki Mayuko's softer voice and then kumi's lower more sexier sounding one. at least it was to me when i first played through x2

It does make sense. He is saying that the machine uses different sounds to replicate the emotion intended. In the case of Real Emotion here, the emotion "Yuna" gives is emulated by the vocaloid program. They are just machines that make pleasant sounds/music. When machines gain emotions, technology has gone too far and we're doomed. Doesn't anybody know what happened in Terminator? Ok, so it's just a movie, but artificial intelligience should only go so far, otherwise things can get out of hand!
