  • RIP Jimmy Savile

  • Everyone is fighting with the terrorists, and nobody is beating them. You may not like them, but you've got to respect that. Props

  • The UN-Symbol

    XD

  • Comment removed

  • this loses all its humour now..... bugger

  • @buffaloface1 No it doesn't... this all got so so much more funny now.

It just became so much clearer how stupid it was from the start.

  • I love how the logo for the United nations has been changed so that it is solely focused on North America. Bit of political comment there maybe :P

  • @perfacetus No, that's the actual map/logo they used when G W Bush came to visit, they didnt want to scare or confuse him with places he hadnt heard of!;)

  • Hahahahhahhahahahah <3

  • lighten up folks, we say things we don't mean to make a joke.. stop taking things so literally you petty twats

  • There can be no peice in the world until Bill Oddie

is hunted down, and compleetly destroid

  • this is not funny.bill oddie is not some kind of JOKE ! he's a real and deep concern

  • @illinformedgeek

Let's get something clear here. Bill Oddie is one of the greatest comedy sketch artists of all time, so good that one man famously died laughing at the Scotsman part of the Ecky Thump sketch. He is one of the greatest jokes in recent history and is one of the inspirations for the careers of David Mitchel and Robert Webb.

Either that or you're actually attempting some form of sarcasm that get's lost in the poor wording of your message... in which case I apologise.

  • @Bushflare You thought he could have been serious in saying that 'Bill Oddie is a real and deep concern'??

Have you gone without sleep for a month or something?

  • @comanchio1976

    NO!... it's more like 28 days ¬,¬

And in all honesty I knew that he wasn't, I just like letting people know about the Sketch that was -so- good it's lethal. So far as I know that feat has never been achieved elsewhere (not counting Monty Python's Lethal Joke).

It's an important bit of info that people seem not to know but it really does do testament to British Humor ^-^

  • @Bushflare 28 days! Thanks to Clive Sinclair, "28 days" is beyond the ken of Mortal Man.

  • 9 people are Bill Oddie.

  • It's satire about scapegoats. :)

  • @RatcliffeDavid no it isn't it's just funny, because we have the UN declaring war of Bill bloody Ollie, who is probably about bottom of the list for smashing.

  • @RatcliffeDavid that and fear mongering...

  • @pp0u1110 grazi

  • can someone tell me the gent sentenced to 3 life sentences? it looks like parkinson but i don't think it is.

  • Lol, poor Oddie...

  • I like the new UN symbol.

  • Bill Oddie works for wikileaks.

  • "quote from the video"

    50+ thumbs please?

  • @willsherry28 lol you got 54 ;)

  • You know... everyone is fighting with terrorists, and NOBODY is beating them, I've got to admit that that's pretty impressive! WELL DONE, now stop already!

  • @Metatality We've foiled many, many terror plans over the decades. What do you mean nobody is beating them?

  • Oh, Billoddie hell, it's only a joke! It's a Bill Oddie Joke!

  • @kaffesurrogat nice :)

  • @texasoilfields Sorry, I thought you were someone else.

  • does anyone know who the guy at the start was? (The guy in the picture behind David Mitchell giving a thumbs up)

  • @calamariattack DJ and philanthropist Jimmy Saville - who is admittedly a pretty weird guy.

  • people are taking this way to seriously

  • All I can say is thank fuck the UN decided to take action against Bill Oddie! Imagine the backlash if they went after Tim Brooke-Taylor. As soon as they'd got his trousers down, revealing the famous Union Jack boxer shorts, well... Britain could say goodbye to its permanent seat on the UN security council!

  • I like the fact the UN flag is just north america

  • @WasLilChrisnowbigish I wonder if thats a mistake (since the real one is just looking dow on the globe) or an intentional poke at Americas control over the world (not an anti-america jab in anyway people, so dont even try lol)

  • @TheVampireCabbit

Taking the intellect of David Mitchell and Robert Webb into account, I would think it was an intentional, satirical joke rather than a mistake.

  • I did not hear anything about this on the news?

  • @WillShakespeare2007

It happened during the football season, maybe you just missed it?

  • wonderfully satirical. I love Bill Oddie to bits, and this is the sort of humour that came up all the time on the goodies. He and David Mitchell seem to have very similar senses of humour.

  • He must be hunted down...and completely destroyed!

  • thank god for this kind of comedy. i wonder ...when will americans come up with something like this (except of trey parker and matt stone of course)

  • @tomos20 Doesn't Fox News come up with something like this every day?

  • Hahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaa................

  • Look, this sketch works and is funny because Bill Oddie is one of the most harmless people out there. If they did this sketch but with a figure both they and the public DON'T like, it wouldn't be as funny. If anyone considers this a genuine attack or criticism of Bill Oddie, they not only miss the point of the sketch, but they miss the point of comedy in the first place.

  • Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, rub your beard all over my body

  • Kill Bill!

  • @sootyferrari65 yes jesus should leave bill alone. i expect he is trying to watch mitchell and webb in peace and jesus is just getting right on his tits.

  • 'you think you know a guy, then he goes and does something like that!'

    LOL

  • "Matt Lock"

    Brilliant!

  • Can I just add the obligatory, Singh!!!! Chak de phatte.

Oh and also: 48 hours are up. Now, where's my mace...

  • lol the war on terror is just to difficult

  • Finaly they will be hunting the real terrorist xD

Mitchell and webb = best comedy duo since fry and laurie

  • im sure bill oddy took this with a laff lol

  • @WKaliberr owned

  • @WKaliberr no he didnt...stoopid

  • this sounds alot like watchmen

  • webb is fantastic in this one

  • the end lol "oh god he wont do that will he?"

  • Well, he was fine acting like a complete arse on QI.

  • Also, even if he is depressed, it's clearly obvious how sarcastic this is. Bill Oddie seeking help from Jihadist terrorists in Pakistan? Having a dirty bomb? The sarcasm is so clear and in-your-face. They could have easily swapped out the words Bill and Oddie for anyone who's name would be so in contrast to the subject that it's humorous, say, David Attenborough.

  • kill yourself

  • @liepinshtein He was also part of the goodies so i'm sure he can take humour very well ;)

  • i liked bill oddie when he was in the goodies, but honestly i dont like what he's done to himself

oh, and mitchell and webb is my favourite sketch show of all time.

  • I'm still waiting for the day that Jimmy Saville appears on the News charged for some mind bending act of depravity that he's been hiding evidence of for decades.

  • @KILLERSTROP bet its child porn he is a creepy bastard

  • They always have a go at him on Top Gear aswell.

He was in that Finnish rally with James May.

  • I like Bill Oddie...

  • Goody Goody Yum Yum.

  • Ecciiiiiiiiiii...............THUMP!

  • Lol.

  • at 1:00 that guy that walks behind robert look exactly like gordon brown...

  • Holy crap you're right O_o

  • o_o

  • loveed the first part "Three life sentences." XD

  • who is bill oddie?

  • Bill oddie is the badger lord of Molgorath!

    Hes bird watcher and presenter.

  • "And be in no doubt, we are going to take him down, we're gonna' take him down hard, and he need'nt think he's gonna' get away with it this time."

LMAO! This talk i exactly the sort you get from leading politicians when they are acting cock-sure over a global issue.

Actual comedy Gold, I love Rober webb for this.

  • join facebook page: bill oddie must die

    : )

  • "to.... to make it interesting." HAH!

  • i never did trust the bearded twat, not since he brought down the goodies

  • "What if he takes refuge with Jihadi terrorists in Iraq or Pakistan?"

    (face drops)

"Oh god he won't do that will he?"

  • bill oddie...dirty bomb hahaha

  • bill oddie is awesome, loved him on never mind the buzzcocks, this sketch is hilarious

  • I that was a great episode!

Oddie "Be friends with the Editor, that's my advice"

Amstell "Be friends with the Doctor that's mine"

    :)

  • it sure was, haha, he just embarrassed himself on the intros round

  • Bill Oddie would've found this hilarious. XDD

    This left me in hysterics.

  • three life sentences lol

  • Comment removed

  • lol ive got his signiture

  • It just goes to show, you can't be too careful!

  • I have read is biograghy and trust me its just his sence of humer he will have loved this

  • lol i think Bill Would actually like this :P hilarious and very clever :)

  • oh, bloody hell, IT'S A JOKE! IT'S A BLOODY JOKE! Mitchell and Webb probably like Bill Oddy. It's not really a personal attack, it's a joke. It's a sketch show, what do you people expect?

This is hilarious by the way, and I happen to rather like Bill Oddy.

  • yes, shows like this always take the mick out of their favourite people...

  • @northenluvvies LOL you said it man

  • Oh god he won't do that will he?

    best bit

  • lol'd at it irl i mean wtf

  • Bill Oddie should be hunted down and destroyed.

For anyone who doesn't think so do a search for the episode of 8 Out Of 10 Cats that Oddie is in, it's great for how much fun they make of him, especially Sean Lock.

  • I used to love the guy, he was awesome on The Goodies but after seeing him on 8 Out Of 10 Cats it really seemed like he had lost his sense of humour.

The episode is on Youtube you just need to search for it.

  • B.O.M.D. : Bill. Oddie. Must. Die.

  • i wanna see wat bill oddie thinks of this vid lol

  • haha mitchell and webb are my favourite duo atm.. compliment each other perfectly..

  • 2 of the most creative comics around - excellent stuff! xxx

  • "we're going to give him a 48 hour head start ... to make it interesting" XD

  • Pity that Bill Oddie doesn't appear himself, except for a still. Yes, it is funny. Picking a harmless target - a bird watcher - makes the joke work. (Maybe they could have used the minefield sleepwalking clip from "Snooze" to illustrate "attacks" against Bill?)

  • Bill Oddie is a trumped up ego filled, insulting, belittling, nasty old man...

Not a sweet innocent bird watcher whos an easy target....

  • Speaking of illustrations, Bill's scene performance in "Punky Business" would also work. Lots of comic violence to choose from. :) OTOH, the comedian Bill is a bit less harmless than the bird watcher.

  • funniest episode of nevermind the buzzcocks was when they had bill oddie, and that is saying something because it has that new,weird,emo/indie/hiarball hybrid host on it.

  • Pardon my ignorance, but who is the guy at the very beginning who's being sentenced to "three life sentences?"

  • That's Jimmy Savile (sir)... Radio DJ, TV presenter and does lots of chairty work (I think he runs marathons!). His tv show was called 'Jim'll Fix It'... in the show he would read letters from the public (kids) asking his to 'Fix It' for then to do somethig special - 'please fix it for my sick brother to meet batman' etc... and he would make it happen. So, a good man (and a proper old skool cheeky chappie)... :-D What would the USA equivalent be to be funny? Gene Wilder + life sentence? :-DD

  • Ha, Gene Wilder! Thanks, yeah, I think the cultural difference kept me from getting the joke totally. But still hilarious nonetheless.

  • yeah... Gene Wilder makes the joke work as we know Gene Wilder is the NICEST MAN IN THE KNOWN UNIVERSE! Sorry to go about it but I wanted to point out that although Jimmy is a good bloke who does good things he actually comes across as a complete dick most of the time lol... so I really couldn't think of the best equivalent :D

  • My mum and dad met Jimmy Saville at a marathon a couple of months ago!

  • this is crap Bill is great

    Dawn

  • I think the individual several comments back is missing the point. This is not an attack on Bill Oddie, but instead a satire of the political approach to the "War on Terror" - attacking Terror is about as plausible as attacking Bill Oddie...

...and even IF we were to launch a war against Bill Oddie, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden would immediately strike with a devastating counter-offensive; perhaps involving John Cleese as a missile.

    Whoops, there I go again...

  • lmao the start is so good! "three life sentences"

  • hehe, i wondering what jimmy saville did :)

  • Best subtle bit of this video: the changing of the UN logo to just be the Americas, rather than the whole world.

  • nuclear capacity lol

  • every1 fucking relax, just stop insulting every1 else

  • if this video has taught us anything its that we should go insult Bill Oddie instead

  • The joke is based on irony- it's obvious that Bill Oddie is harmless, that's the joke. You're not American are you?

Anyway, their names are in the title of the sketch above. You clearly like your humour served up on a big obvious plate with a side order of slapstick. Moron. Go back to watching 'Everybody loves Raymond'.

I wasn't a big fan of 'Magicians' either, but I defy you to watch Peep Show without developing a laugh-induced hernia

  • Ever heard of Arrested Development? It's an American show, and it's the funniest, most complex show ever made. It has subtlety up the wazoo,

Don't say Americans can't be subtle (granted, we aren't most of the time.)

But Mitchell and Webb's stuff is still amazingly amazing. Maybe my third favorite, behind Odenkirk and Cross.

  • Arrested Development? What... are you 12? It's your opinion not fact :P

  • Obviously you haven't seen it. Either that or you just don't get it (it does take complex thought to process all that happens.)

I'm not trying to insult. Mitchell and Webb are original and hilarious.

  • You're not trying to insult yet you insinuate that because I disagree with you on the humour of a show you happen to like, I must be mentally incompetent? For your information my friend I have seen it, I don't enjoy it very much. Don't be so pretentious.

  • Look, if I were talking about anything else I would admit that there would be some doubt in my mind that somebody could like it. But there is not one thing about the show which could lead to some sort of criticism. It is literally a perfect show. It's one of the few shows that gets better the more you watch it.

  • While I respect your opinion please don't use it as an argument.

  • I see where you're coming from, but I have to say that I have no other choice but to stay with the fact that it is the best show ever. :)

  • Well done for proving you don't actually understand the concept of a joke. I'd say that makes you unqualified to comment on comedy. Please shut up and keep your random idiotic abuse inside your tiny brain

  • mate you obviously cant get a joke more clever than somthing like the chuckle brothers so just go away and live under a bridge :)

    all the best

  • "their shit eaters and they rape men!

    oh and donkeys."

It'll be a wonderful day when I find a criticism on YouTube that isn't so ridiculously idiotic, made up and downright childish. You could have just left it with the comments proving that you didn't understand that this whole thing was a joke but you had to go the fool's extra mile and try to insult them, and quite crudely too.

  • lewiswillingham dude i believe in a comedy sketch show everything on it leads up to or is a ( word you might not understand here) joke. get over it and watch the video without throwing a pussy fit. and i think its you who should rape men. dousche

  • dont feed the troll people.

  • you're an imbecile.

  • you think you know a guy, and then he goes and does something like that. Lol

  • ...3 life sentences.

    Wha...?

  • he starts in media res. The joke is obviously that Jimmy Saville (onscreen) has just received 3 life sentences for an unknown crime

  • "We'll give him 48 hours

  • "We're going to be giving him 48 hours head start ... just to make it interesting..." LOL!

  • The last bits the best
