i personally prefer the sheets; but i mean- take into consideration that tabs go back pretty far and were concieved specifically for guitarists who just wanted to play a song and/or could not or did not want to put in the time or money to grasp a fully structured musical education

Indeed, I prefer the sheets too, and you're right in what you are saying. I also think, however, that schrumpfl needs to consider the fact that it is generally easier to write down tabs than sheets (because with tabs you don't need to do anything with rythm etc.).

well that's exactly it. sheet music is totally and completely "complete." Everything tat needs to be there for someone to play the song exactly as the draftsman wishes it to be played is available. So while there is certainly nothing wrong with tabs, i think that the be able to read and understand music is also very important- also you won't find tabs for everything- particularly for the classical guitar.
