Oh bless her, my friends shih tzu had that done to him also, His tail fell so he went to the vets and did the same thing! now his tail is back to normal. Glad she is ok now! What do you find the best way to house train a shih tzu?

You can look through my videos and see by potty training videos of when I trained Jenna. We had no doggie door and everytime she wanted out, I stayed out with her until she had gone potty. Sometimes that was 45 mintues. When she finally went, she got a treat and the word "good potty" was used for going pee. Then "good poopoo" was used for going poop. The treat followed the going for about 3 months and she finally got it, she would go on command. When outside I would say, go potty or go poopoo.

To continue...She gradually was taken off getting a treat every time she went. But it took about 3 months to train her. But worth it. She now has a doggie door and knows to go outside. She still knows when Go Potty means, but she won't always do it on command now as she has free access to the back yard to go. Hope this helps.

Yes, she needed her anal glands drained. She is fine now. She was checked at the vet's today.
