But after homecoming, things went in deep waters for them. And then Spencer and him started spending more time together since she was tutoring him in French, they got to know each other better and that both sort of come from the same place so now this happened <3

The writers of this show are whack, calling Ezra and Aria 'soulmates' and the 'IT' couple of the show. Spencer and Toby could hold hands in public, they could be seen in public. @lomaaz actually, he acts that way around everyone but Spencer. Have you been paying attention? He acts 'wooden' like you say around everyone else cuz they still think he's some weirdo maniac even without knowing him. He's totally open and honest and super protective when it comes to Spencer because she's the only one who's given him a chance and he syncs with her the most cuz they both have a lot in common. So yes, he can act. You just haven't observed closely. And yes, super cute couple :)
