your celling is so amazing! you're so exuberant and excited when you play, and your tone still sounds beautiful. It also seems that you've found an perfect fit for an accompianist, as he looks just as whimsical as you do when you play. it is an extremely beautiful piece, and you are amazing when you play it! :)
I LOVE IT!!! You seem to really enjoy what you do!! I wish I could be that enthusiastic when I play! (not that I don't love the cello) Is there anything you could tell me to help me with cello at all?
ha ha thanks!! I do love the cello, it's my escape from everything else really. My only advise would be to play it only when you want to, as I've only come to love it since I wasn't forced to practice it any more, so opening the case no longer seems like a chore, it's just for fun!
@katiecrumpet Hey I just started writing what you said in the last few weeks. Funny. Haven't gotten a finished article out of it yet but it has something to do with being saddled with music lessons, a volcano and getting back to the tone of the situation. Wound up back on the piano after quite the hiatus- I think my return will include a good long look at the cello. Oh and you dont look silly, you look like you are having a blast!
Very well played. My compliments on your accomplishment. You're also right that it is the kind of "last dance you'd ever do" but it's also a wedding dance from southern Italy, when Tarantism or "dancing fever" was abound in southern Italy. And the idea behind it was that being bit by a tarantula was the cause of this dancing fever. I greatly enjoyed the video and it was a superb performance. :)
you know, it's nice for you if you can play it at 12 But you know what else? we (at least I) don't really care wether people can play it really early nor if they play it too close to the bridge... Sorry if some are bothered by me being this fierce about it, but that's just my opinion. By the way, I thought this was truly amazingly well played.
Eh, something that would catch my eye (from past conducting experiences) is if you make eye contact, more motion in your playing, something that will catch the eye of the conductor as he is conducting,
i wonder why enslish speaking performers always try to make the public laugh with little jokes or funny remarks at performances, its pandemic is like a virus in them.but nice performance anyway.
I would love to play the Cello. I used to play the violin, but I really hated it. I think I might enjoy cello better. As I'm 20 years old now, I doubt that I will, just because I can't afford a cello or lessons or such things.
i'm learning both intruments (violin and cello at the time) and yes, cello is more comfortable, but also everything is more expensive strings, lessons bows etc. Many aspects of your violin experience will be helpful. But both instruments need a lifelong to study. (that's why i like them LOL ;-).. )
Wow, this rocks! I've just started playing the cello again after 25 years in the wilderness. I am learning this piece and finding some of those scales tough, but this is an inspiration!
personally I don't think this the note of this piece is not hard at all but play all the note equal and and going up to the thumb is what makes it hard. I figure out the music in like 2 days.....
i play the cello and i taught myself the violin in last half term holidays. i find it easier to play the violin because i do not hold my left arm up properly for the cello. so it is never too late to learn anything as you might be secretly awesome at it :)
Hi, I'm Dori and I started playing the cello when I was eleven. I'm now 14 and I'm first chair in my orchestra. It's not because you thought you were bad at violin that you can't play any of the instruments in the string family! Think of that!!!
it's never too late. I play the cello and i sucked at a great couple of years. but bang - when i turned 15 i suddenly started developing really fast and now i'm pretty good.

Stumbled on to this video by pure coincidence.
I wanted to hear this song, and on the way to the video I had in mind, I saw this with exclamation marks!! So I figured I would check it out.
Amazing, I have never heard this song played out so elaborately. Believe me I know that feeling when you get a cheek to cheek smile on the fun parts.
I honestly just decided to get a copy of this song to work on. Hopefully I'll have it sounding like that in a few years. Beautiful.

Your bow was too close the bridge and was going up and down the string too much, that's what my teacher would say.

The idea behind the Tarantella wasn't the last dance you would ever do, but rather it was supposed to prevent it.
