  • Very nice. Compliment!!

  • great song, i love it but i think you played it a little too fast..at least for my taste that is

  • Your performance was FANATASTIC!!!! I totally loved it!!! Thumb-ups froom me!!!:)

  • those kids in the background seem very bored.

  • You don't look silly at all. You look poised and confident - and you sound fantastic. Have a wonderful life xx

  • You don't look silly at all. You look poised and confident - and you sound fantastic. Have a wonderful life xx

  • the only way that could have been more dramatic was if the chello bursted into flames...loved it!

  • Forgot to mention, I clapped out loud.

    Hah.

  • Stumbled on to this video by pure coincidence.

I wanted to hear this song, and on the way to the video I had in mind, I saw this with exclamation marks!! So I figured I would check it out.

Amazing, I have never heard this song played out so elaborately. Believe me I know that feeling when you get a cheek to cheek smile on the fun parts.

I honestly just decided to get a copy of this song to work on. Hopefully I'll have it sounding like that in a few years. Beautiful.

    -Another Cellist.

  • wished the piano was a tad bit quieter

  • Your strenght is a hurricane, your passion is fire, your expressivity so powerful, so charming. Bellissima.

  • love the shoes. oh... and the cello playing :D

  • very nice. you picked a very good tempo. i wish i had half of your skill but hey skill is only half the battle

  • this is really good! you are very enthusiastic

  • i can play that because i'm on 5th grade!

    \

  • your celling is so amazing! you're so exuberant and excited when you play, and your tone still sounds beautiful. It also seems that you've found an perfect fit for an accompianist, as he looks just as whimsical as you do when you play. it is an extremely beautiful piece, and you are amazing when you play it! :)

  • even when it is really fast your tone is incredbily beautiful :)

  • Possibly the very best Squire op.23's I've heard. Superb musicality, tone and intonation. Bravissimo!

  • contratulations.... it´s very good!!!

  • Nice! I'm playing this tonight (18th Nov) in a concert! Eeeek. It should be okay if my fingers don't slip!

  • Just look at the pianist! He looks much more stupid than you!

  • Julliard for you! *--------*

    DIVINAAAAAAAA!

  • I LOVE IT!!! You seem to really enjoy what you do!! I wish I could be that enthusiastic when I play! (not that I don't love the cello) Is there anything you could tell me to help me with cello at all?

PS I saw that sleeve of yours sliding down :)

  • ha ha thanks!! I do love the cello, it's my escape from everything else really. My only advise would be to play it only when you want to, as I've only come to love it since I wasn't forced to practice it any more, so opening the case no longer seems like a chore, it's just for fun!

  • @katiecrumpet Exactly how i feel.. Started playing again 2 months ago after a 4 year break :-)

  • @katiecrumpet Hey I just started writing what you said in the last few weeks. Funny. Haven't gotten a finished article out of it yet but it has something to do with being saddled with music lessons, a volcano and getting back to the tone of the situation. Wound up back on the piano after quite the hiatus- I think my return will include a good long look at the cello. Oh and you dont look silly, you look like you are having a blast!

  • @katiecrumpet me too!!! i was forced to play violin and hated it, then when i wasnt forced, it was AMAZING!!!! :D

  • I just got this piece from my lesson teacher i hope i can play it as beatiful as u can!

  • Bravoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • That is so beautiful i listened to this 4 times in a row and am abot to listen to it again great work and i love the dynamic contrast!!

  • @kawacorey100 thank you so much, what a lovely comment! Glad you liked it!!

  • Very nice!

  • Fantastic! At last a cellist that actually enjoys playing the cello... not like all other guys in youtube that won't even smile.

    Katie you are Awesome!

  • @Gaffonium Thanks!! Hee hee yes I love the cello... and didn't expect the concert to be put on youtube lol

  • the performer's personality matches up with this song SO perfectly!

...HAHA her facial expression between 1:16 - 1:20 cracks me up every time!

  • Aaargh ha ha yes I'm always embarassing like that!!

  • Fantastic...like it a lot

  • Very well played. My compliments on your accomplishment. You're also right that it is the kind of "last dance you'd ever do" but it's also a wedding dance from southern Italy, when Tarantism or "dancing fever" was abound in southern Italy. And the idea behind it was that being bit by a tarantula was the cause of this dancing fever. I greatly enjoyed the video and it was a superb performance. :)

  • Oh I forgot, the dance was thought as a cure for the tarantula bite.

  • @Salamon2 Thanks so much!

  • I am learning this piece and often refer to your wonderful performance for quality, tempo, and inspiration. Thanks so much!

I look forward to viewing more of your stuff.

  • beautifully played

  • amazing!!!

  • awesome now try and bow with your athere hand

  • you know, it's nice for you if you can play it at 12 But you know what else? we (at least I) don't really care wether people can play it really early nor if they play it too close to the bridge... Sorry if some are bothered by me being this fierce about it, but that's just my opinion. By the way, I thought this was truly amazingly well played.

  • awesome!! i have to play this for my grade 7 exam

  • Samee gotta learn it for my exam xD

  • Jeez, I play this for my recital coming up. And you play way aster than do! :l Very lovely piece I must say though.

  • Awesome! I'm thirteen and I just performed this peice too!! :D

  • hahaha i played this for my solo ensamble in 6th grade :)

  • hey i got moved back a chair anyone know how i could impress my conductor?

  • blow him

  • ROFL

  • Whilst milking his prostate.

  • Eh, something that would catch my eye (from past conducting experiences) is if you make eye contact, more motion in your playing, something that will catch the eye of the conductor as he is conducting,

  • that was awesome! great job!

  • gurl!!!! I love your performance and I love your shoes :-D

  • I second that on the shoes!!!

  • Is it comfortable to sit like this? doesnt looks like?

  • Beautiful perfomance ! JUst lovely!

  • Good job! This is one of my favorite pieces. I currently working on it :)

  • i wonder why enslish speaking performers always try to make the public laugh with little jokes or funny remarks at performances, its pandemic is like a virus in them.but nice performance anyway.

  • you dont look silly, you look great playing. haha unlike me . ^_^

  • On s'ha vist un concert on el pianista ha d'estar dret ?!

I damunt no és ni un piano, és un teclat !

  • i love this piece, u played very good!!! the pianist also played very good. PRO

  • I LOVE this piece.... except for the presto in the last 2 lines haha I pretty much suck at that part :)

  • I applaud to !!!!!

    Congratulations.

    Kahavat

  • I would love to play the Cello. I used to play the violin, but I really hated it. I think I might enjoy cello better. As I'm 20 years old now, I doubt that I will, just because I can't afford a cello or lessons or such things.

  • Fight for it, it´s worth.

  • the cello is defiantly much more comfortable than the violin

  • i'm learning both intruments (violin and cello at the time) and yes, cello is more comfortable, but also everything is more expensive strings, lessons bows etc. Many aspects of your violin experience will be helpful. But both instruments need a lifelong to study. (that's why i like them LOL ;-).. )

  • wow what a preformance, your goooood, very pretty to. great job

  • Good job! :D

    Love the shoes btw. :)

Ya i played this song before :D i love it!!!

  • I love how muchs he gets into it! I wish I didn't look so boring when I played. I could learn form her. :]

  • ha lol the pianists hands at 0.37!!!

  • How hard is this song? I've never played it before. It seems like just a bunch of chromatic scales.

  • its a grade 5 piece. i'm learning it at the moment, some of it is really tricky because it gets pretty intensely fast.

  • Wow, this rocks! I've just started playing the cello again after 25 years in the wilderness. I am learning this piece and finding some of those scales tough, but this is an inspiration!

  • Beautiful articulation and tone XD

  • yeah right u cant even spell "was" right much less play something as complex as this

  • who cares about spelling on the internet. i seriously did play this in second grade. i started when i wuz in kindergarten.

  • It's way harder then it looks I play the cello and I'm learning that peice and it is hard. I getting good at it

  • I figure out the music in like 2 days.....

personally I don't think this the note of this piece is not hard at all but play all the note equal and and going up to the thumb is what makes it hard. I figure out the music in like 2 days.....

  • how long have u been playing?

  • 3 and half, I took half yr of private lessons, then I moved to US two yrs which was taught by myself.

then back to private lesson again around 1 yr ago

  • i play the cello and i taught myself the violin in last half term holidays. i find it easier to play the violin because i do not hold my left arm up properly for the cello. so it is never too late to learn anything as you might be secretly awesome at it :)

  • wow that sounded beautiful!

  • Brilliant playing, but the tempo is waaaay to fast for this piece. =/

  • Wow the pianist has a lot of stamina standing up for the whole piece!

  • You are an amazing cellist! Great! I am practicing Tarentella..

  • ugh is it too late to learn cello at 13/14?!!

i want to learn but i tried violin for 3 years but i was bad at it so i assumed that i was bad at string instuments:(

  • It's never too late to learn new instruments!

  • You're so right! I'm a cellist and I started at age eleven.

    check out my vids.

  • I'm a currently in-learning (hey, when do we stop learn eh? ;)) bassist and guitarist, and I started playing three months ago. I'm 18 years old.

  • yeah! im 12 and i started playing violin at 11. and look at me now! 5th chair out of 30 kids who hav been playing for 4+ years! its never too late!

  • I started learning at the age of 10

  • Hi, I'm Dori and I started playing the cello when I was eleven. I'm now 14 and I'm first chair in my orchestra. It's not because you thought you were bad at violin that you can't play any of the instruments in the string family! Think of that!!!

  • it's never too late. I play the cello and i sucked at a great couple of years. but bang - when i turned 15 i suddenly started developing really fast and now i'm pretty good.

  • Anybody know where I can find free sheet music to this piece?

  • the faces the girl was pulling who was sat in the middle... :| it was quite rude.

  • The idea behind the Tarantella wasn't the last dance you would ever do, but rather it was supposed to prevent it. They Italians thought at the time that sweat the venom out of the body, so they would dance this very fast dance to profusely sweat. That aside, your playing was masterful, thank you very much for sharing it with us ^^

  • great! im working on this for an audition piece!

  • good job, but you kind of act braggy...

  • bravo!!

magnifico! ... is that a word??

  • Wow!!! Fabulous!!!!!

  • Is this Lola Montez' song circa 1865?

  • ♥great♥

  • this is really great. I'm currently working on this solo, and this recording definitely inspires me!

  • magnificent performance. almost killed me :)

  • pięknie...

  • I really really really wish I could play as well as you can!!!!! I LOVE Tarantella.

  • Kath, ur amazing!!!
