@kingsman1288 I was a player on the team where the caoch was ejected and the first technical was terrible but the second was given due to the language of the assistant coach saying thats bulls*** then the referee said shutup and the coach said dont tell me to shutup. He was then ejected.
As an official, you are supposed to be level headed, and your responsibility is to help the smooth running of the game. Screaming at the coach isn't helping anyone.
wasn't there won't judge. there could have been previous issues with the assistant coach. (who, btw doesn't get an opnion) i have no problem with him telling the idiot coach to shut up. he does need to shut up

Yeah definitely. I'm a HS official as well and watching this just made me cringe. I'm wondering where his partner is during this whole fiasco as well. If for whatever reason a second T is warranted, his partner should have done it. At the very least, his partner should have gotten him away from the bench.

And why must you get your partner away from the bench? To win kudos with the coach, appear like the "good guy" and, in effect, sell your partner up the river? The issue should revolve around the official making the calls--not his partner.
Ummm... that is 3 bench technicals, so the actual coach should be ejected, not the assistant, making the assistant the coach, who will likley get 2 techs from then, then being ejected, and the captain becomes coach.
but even though the assitant coach is listed on the scoresheet, he counts as part of the bench unless the coach has been removed from the game (no matter how)
See FIBA official Rules 2008 Art. 38.4.1.2, 38.3.3, and 37.1.2 (they have been in place for a few years)
Ah, yes, you're right, listing does not matter for techs. My bad. But, a listed assistant coach can be disqualified without the coach needing to go. What in actuality seems to have happened is a technical foul C and a technical foul B on the coach, then a straight disqualifying foul on the assistant coach.
Wow...horrible ref. If a tech is necessary, give it with dignity and then get the heck out of there. Don't stand there and point or argue. Hope he got punished for this.

As a college referee, this guy lost control of the game. A technicial foul is just another foul. Call it, report it and get out of there.

It's not clear why he gave the technichal fouls and what the assit coach has said. So imo you can't judge about the ref.

You can judge the official, because his behavior is atrocious. As an official you never:
-Get in a coach's face
-Tell them to shut up
-Repeatedly stick the signal for the technical foul in the face of a coach
That's just the tip of the iceberg with this official...hope someone has taught him better by now.

I agreee, kingsman. I am a HS and college official and the way this official acted was absolutely unprofessional.
At worst the official should have gave him one and just walked away. He may also have told the head coach to help him control his bench.

An assistant coach can be listed on a scoresheet. Go download one off the internet and see for yourself.
If not listed, the three technical fouls would be assessed to the coach only and the assistant coach would take over.
