If people are going to omit parts of the Bible or say that those parts were not inspired by God then there is no point in believing in the Bible as a whole. I also think that love doesn't necessarily mean allowing people to do whatever they want. Yet again, its just my opinion and I'm not sure what to believe regarding homosexuality. If I stick to the Bible its wrong. If I omit that part of the Bible, my faith is false. If I think in pure love, I would not condemn gays to hell. It's hard stuff.
No the only thing people who call themselves Christians need to do is truly begin to act like Jesus instead of doing a lot of talk without walk, It’s sad when other world religions have a better and clearer understanding of Jesus than So Called Christians do .
THE WAY TO LIVE IN WRITTEN AND IT IS HOLY. LIKE IT OR NOT.
WE FACE LUSTS OF THE FLESH.. WE ALLLLLL DO.. BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN THAT WE GIVE IN TO IT.. WE ALLLLLL FACE THE SAME LUSTS.. MOST JUST WONT ADMIT IT.. IF THEY DID, IT MIGHT STOP THE CONFUSION OF BEING BORN THAT WAY. ITS LUST.
LEVITICUS 18:22~HOW YOU GONNA DISPUTE THAT? YOU CANT CHANGE WHAT THAT SAYS. ONLY JUSTIFY
Oh, ok, you're one of those American-style evangelical fundamentalists who think having a particular belief in a certain part of your neural network is necessary for something or other to do with a happily ever after.
Would you consider me bad fruit if I told you I see no evidence to think that your god is anything more than a figment of your imagination?
@wimsweden No, not necessarily "happily ever after" but you do need to be indwelt by the Holy Spirit to receive eternal life in Heaven. What I think, isn't really relevant because I'm not the one charged with judging you eternally. The one that is charged with judging you, is Christ. Do you also think there is no evidence of his existence as well? In answer to your question, not expressing a belief in God, doesn't make someone "bad fruit" but it does make you unsaved.
"What I think, isn't really relevant because [...]."
It's highly relevant. You seem to think a finite crime can justify an infinite punishment. That tells me something about your personality, seeing as I don't believe in your supernatural claims.
"Do you also think there is no evidence of his existence as well?" King Arthur or other legendary figures are usually based on historical figures, but the magic stuff was made up. Same with rabbi Yeshua.
@wimsweden To be unsaved, means to not be indwelt by the Holy Spirit. What that means, is that one hasn't yet been reconciled back to God as we must all be, to receive eternal life with the Father in Heaven. When we are born, we are born separated from God due to sin. The only remedy for the disease of sin, is Jesus Christ. Until we receive Christ as our Savior, we will forever be separated from God. If we die without receiving Christ as our Savior, we will be separated from Him eternally.
"indwelt by the Holy Spirit" How does that work? If a protestant, catholic, orthodox, etc. all claims to be "indwelt" but they come to different doctrines, how to they assert their particular beliefs as true?
"When we are born, we are born separated from God due to sin." But you claim a perfect being created us. And your own book says good trees cannot bear bad fruit. If we are born of sin, i.e. imperfect, then that falls apart.
"The only remedy for the disease of sin, is Jesus Christ."
Leaving aside the fact that we are an evolved species and that "sin" never entered the world, how does a dude who does an elaborate suicide by cop fix anything? And you even claim this being is all-knowing and set up the system with precise foreknowledge. It makes no sense. I'd expect much more from something that is supposed to have the property of perfect communication.
"The only remedy for the disease of sin, is Jesus Christ."

Unsaved from what exactly? And how does me holding a belief somewhere in my brain about being "saved" by a 2000-year-old legendary dead rabbi achieve that?
@EqualAndFree yea its kinda sad that people think its such a bad thing to believe things based on evidence...its so seductive to live in this fantasy world where there are absolute rules and morality
@EqualAndFree but my point is that: by what method do we know that slavery in the bible is wrong if your christianity is based on the bible as the WORD OF GOD? so some of it is the word of god and some of it is just the word of imperfect men? my larger point is that you dont need a god to be good you can read a plethora of philosophical theological and mythological literature be inspired and learn BUT to say "its the word of god" just makes things unnecessarily absolute without ANY PROOF
hes just doing a progressive picking and choosing! i mean its good for society but why even believe in god at all if we as human beings can PICK whats right?
@wimsweden ... Am I hearing right that he believes it is ok to be gay, when God Clearly makes it a sin to be Gay....... WOW. What a shame. I can only hope and pray that this man lets go of a reprobate mind and pray through.
You mean Yahweh, right? And you then also mean more precisely, a passage in a collection of old books claims that a god called Yahweh has something against homosexuality, don't you?
I just hope you can let go of your idolatry of a book written by other people just like you.
@wimsweden ... Yes. God said it is an abomination to be gay. Leviticus. Bible says they love strange flesh, they give up the natural affection of a woman... So yes it is a sin to do what homosexuals do.........Does not in Genesis it shows how far perversion can go when the angels struck the men of the city blind and they still tried to come in to molest the angel......... Sorry you have a different opinion and view. But as you believe whatsoever you do. I choose to believe what God says.
"I choose to believe what God says." To correct you again, you believe the claims of other people written down in a collection of old books about a god called Yahweh.
"Leviticus." The Old Testament also says that rebellious children and people who work on the sabbath should be put to death. Do you really want that kind of society?
@wimsweden ... And what does God say. You keep referring to this "Yahweh" you keep saying you believe what this Yahweh says... Well let me ask you... Who is God to you and what book or bible do you read.... What does romans chapter 1 mean to you......... What do you believe and what church do you go to......And you never corrected me one time so dont say again........ becuz you havent proven any point to me yet......
@wimsweden ...Well with the exception of this so called preacher believing that homosexual marriage is ok, i think he actually believes what most of the bible says...... So i see your position of putting this up is not becuz you believe in God, either like i do or he does, it is just the statement he makes about believing in homosexual marriage......... Well Wimsweden........ I be praying for you.
@wimsweden ... Why not. We may disagree in what beliefs we hold to. However humanity i would hope has not gone to the extent of hatred that just becuz we believe differently, i cannot pray for you, your family or wellness, as i would hope someone would say to me, I dont believe in your God, or God at all but i hope you have a good day and your family is ok.......... I dont hate anyone wimsweden, though i dont like all that goes on, i dont hate, i love ppl and want to see ppl come to God, how
@wimsweden ... I dont know. It is in hopes that maybe one day you will change your mind about God. That you and your family are well. Only God can call someone to Him. As a believer in Jesus Christ i cannot do nothing only he can do, however i can be His hands and feet and mouthpiece that someone may see Jesus in me. i accepted Jesus when i was 6. for long time i lived a life of sin it was crazy. 9 yrs ago i gave my life back to Jesus and the misery of life does not control me no more.
First, "God" needs a proper definition. Call me ignostic (not agnostic) on that point. Which god concept are you talking about? If you're talking about an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and omnibenevolent supernatural being based on the Abrahamic tradition, then I see no evidence for that being and even evidence against its existence, a lot of incoherence in its omni-attributes as well as a general problem with the term "supernatural".
@wimsweden ...continued, However i know that someone might say i will never turn to God and that may be the case it is my hope prayer and belief that they do. I was once a person you would prefer to never meet, the things i have done in my life. But i know where God brought me from and what he did for me. So what God has done for me compared to how i use to be, I will choose God 100 times more than the old life of sin i lived in..... that is why wimsweden i pray for you, just as ido foralotofppl

"And what does God say." You keep referring to a collection of books written by men who claim they were talking to an alleged god. Big difference.
"You keep referring to this "Yahweh"" Yahweh is the god of the Israelites, the god of what is referred to as the bible.
"you keep saying you believe what this Yahweh says." No, I don't. I don't believe in the existence of your god Yahweh.
"Who is God to you?" The gods that have been proposed to me, make no sense to me, I'm an atheist.
