This is a killer tune not sure why it wasn't on the album instead of the B sides...Much better tune than judgement of heaven, fortunes of war or the unbeliever.
I don't like blaze and I'm glad bruce is back but if this and doctor doctor had been featured on x factor I really think that blaze would have made more albums with maiden. And honestly all of the songs on x factor had a really slow start up to the metal or didn't even speed up at all but this is really upbeat. Yea I agree with everyone asking why this was cut. Most of X Factor was much worse than this. I think it's because the songwriting and production on this song was more like Fear of the Dark stylistically than whatever they were trying to do on X Factor with the muddled sound and 20-minute instrumental snoozefests.

Love this song. They should have included it on the album, or saved it for Virtual XI. The X Factor had plenty of slow, brooding songs, this would have helped keep the energy up a little. Virtual XI was too short (for a late-90s Maiden album) and didn't have too many awesome songs on it. Both albums could have really benefited from a track like this, IMO.

That song simply kicks ass - and I've been a Maiden fan since Killers was released. I saw them live with Quiet Riot opening for $8 around 1984, maybe 1983? One of the best shows ever.

blaze bayley has clearly a better voice for something more thrashy than maiden, a great vocalist that just didn´t land on the right band, kind of like in soccer, some players that could have been the best end up being nobodies because of wrong choices in club transfers
The problem is that Blaze is a Baritone. Unless Maiden was to tune down - anything that Bruce Dickinson or Paul Di'Anno sang were just a bit out of his range, and night after night of straining to reach those notes would keep him from fully recovering for weeks at a time. I've studied voice for quite a while, and what they really needed to do was give him 6 months with a top vocal instructor like Jaime Vendera (LaBrie) or Al Koehn (Midnight) to increase his range.
even though im not a huge fan of blaze bayley, i got to say this song is really really good. it shouldve been included on the x-factor album in my opinion lol
Damn! Why isnt this on a album? :( Well, it is a great "opening rocker" but The X-Factor is pretty dark album which doesnt open to the listener on the first time, its difficult and needs time. So Judgemend Day wouldnt have quite fit because there already is quite similar piece on the album, Man On The Edge and partly Lord Of The Flies...
But I still think that this could've replaced for example The Judgement of Heaven.

Has a hint of "invaders" and " back in the village" to it, I could really see this fitting in great on the x factor, Blaze sound good and gritty on this one, really fired up.

tell me why the fuck that song wasn't at the x factor? I think it's fuckin cool Just in Maiden style. even Blaze is kickin ass at this song. In my opinion this one should be on album instead songs like: Blood on world's hand, judgemant of heaven and some more. This really kicks ass. I was shocked when I heard it for the first time at the album called"best of b-sides" it's great song. Also the justice of peace is way better than some songs from x factor album.

I agree. But Steve and Co. should put it on a x factor instead of some songs. But you're right that it's good that there is album called Best of B-sides with such songs

Has a hint of "invaders" and " back in the village" to it, I could really see this fitting in great on the x factor, Blaze sound good and gritty on this one, really fired up.

Dickinson is the VOICE of Iron Maiden that everyone recognise. Di'Anno and Bayley are good singers but Bruce is the Master.

If it Helps Sharu, i agree, blaze did a fine job with Maiden and his vocals suited the songs he did with the group, though i think personal preferance is the defining factor of who likes say blaze or bruce more

this isnt that rare, its just one of three songs that didnt make the cut for x factor which can be found on Man on Edge single, judgment day, justice of the peace and i live my way i cant see why this didnt make the cut though it beats 2 AM and Look For the Truth.

Maybe they did not include it because they already had a "Judgement" song on the record? I like it better than 2 AM, but Look for the Truth was a perfect song for the album.

I love this song, it gets constant airplay on my iPod. It has a very punk-ish feel to it and it is one of the best Maiden songs IMO.

They should have dropped The Angel and The Gambler and Don't look to the Eyes of a Stranger from Virtual XI and replaced them with this song, Justice of the Peace and I live My Way
