The cops color had NOTHING to do with it! This is COP behavior, nothing else. Ex-military is being hired more and more often, and police are being militarized. Using military for policing is illegal per Posse Comitatus, but turning cops into military IS legal. Acts like this are the consequences.The military has always had a culture of cruelty.They are trained to escalate violence levels, as opposed to "Peace Officers," who are taught to calm things down.The latter is getting more and more rare.

I feel like there could have been a thousand more appropriate ways for the deputy to search him. It was heartless and uncalled for and her actions were drastic for what appears to be a calm situation. I think that he did the right thing to sue and bring attention to the mistreatment that some people go through, disabled or not, with law enforcement.
