Actually, Top Cat was supposed to be the feline equivalent of Phil Silvers' "Sergeant Bilko", 'betty'- a con artist extrordinaire, with a "platoon" of fellow alley cats to scheme with {Maurice Gosfield, who played "Private Doberman" to Silvers' "Bilko" on his series, was the voice of "Benny"- a similar character}. James Dean? Maybe....

yes--couldn't say brand name on BBC. For same

reason, Kinks had to re-do a line of "Lola"

and substitute "cherry cola" for "Coca cola"
