It's been over a decade since I played the game, but, I think the way to climb stairs in the game is to walk up to them, hold up and then walk into them.

So, for example, let's say the stairs is to your left; walk up to it, hold up and then rotate into an up-left diagonal, and then hold left and Michael will be walking up the stairs.

To go down stairs it's almost the same, but just with the down button (the rotation is the key part - it needs to register the diagonal

There a special mode micheal gets in the game when u find the kid you have to get to a certain area quickly to catch a fallen star so you can go to machine mode!You get it every level if u know what ur doing! Took me time to memorize everything for this game! This game is dangerous!

I genuinely think this game should be remade Pronto. Playing through Michael Jackson's videos with his soundtrack and the fighting dance moves is an awesome idea. Maybe they can axe the magic/kidnapping children aspect though..
