Allow me to clear something up: Vince Carter and Michael Jordan are DIFFERENT STYLE DUNKERS. VC might be able to jump slightly higher than Jordan, and even thats debatable, but Jordan can soar much further from the hoop than VC (in games and dunk contests) and thats not debatable!!!!
Also, Jordan seem to possess unlimited durability and lack of injuries so he also has more quantity of dunks than VC due to playing 81-82 games seasons where VC has been injury prone and missed lots of games

Jordan did not compete in the slam dunk contest after he won those two titles. As for his greatness, it used to be said that you can't win a NBA championship without a great center. The Jordan-led Chicago championship teams had 3 different starting centers who were good, but none were great. Also, it was said that true greatness was measured by how many championships you won. Bill Russell (10), Jordan (6), next set of superstars who led their teams to the title have 3 at the most.

Marv Albert's call of his "Spectacular move!" or the subtle push-off to score in the '98 Finals. Also, Russell won (11) titles. Thankyou. Yeah Dominque's dunks were amazing but have some variety. He did like 4 windmills in a row. Doing a windmill from one side and then from another is NOT a different dunk. He overdid it with the windmills.

No. Jordan shouldnt have won that many times. I agree he could win here because he was home. But they kept giving him 50's after he did it like every other year. Which he should have lost. I respect Mike for that dunk ( and everything else he has done in the NBA) but after they seen it ONCE and DEFINATELY TWICE. Its not a 50 anymore.

The problem with the dunk contest, then and now is the judging. The only reason 'Nique got a bull s--- 45 for a beautiful two handed windmill was because Mike got a bull s--- 47 for his great dunk.
There is no question in my mind that Michael deserved a 50 for that free throw line dunk (the poster of which hung in my bedroom for a long time). Of course nowadays everyone does that dunk - but not like Mike!
