@gokulking.....there is a crack near the foundation of the mullaperiyar dam that spans the whole 1200m of the dam....due to this the dam is now inclined inwards....u think we r kidding....the visuals have been recorded by experts from both the states....u think our panic is being politically motivated???...if that had been the case..why now???why not earlier???its because idukki is still shaking on a weekly basis due to new earthquakes...nd mind you...earthquakes cant be politically motivated..

But whatever the case be, from that day onwards you wont get any water for your agriculture or electricity. Your crops will dry off. Your cattles will die. Your basic source of income will be blocked. There is going to be a severe draught.

its our responsibility to give water to thamilnadu, coz lot of regions are rain shadow regions there, but its your responsibility to ensure our safety coz the dam is in kerala and periyar is 100% kerala river. Also we make no revenue from it, financial benefit is all for thamilnadu. but it is not a problem to us all we demand is a safe environment to live. we are worried about the safety of the dam, new dam gives us a feeling of security. thats all. there should be no dispute between any states

TN CM said that the dam is as safe as a new dam,Its not because the dam is safe, The real problem is tn govt is paying an amount of rs 8 lakh approx to govt of kerala for getting water, producing electricity, as a part of rent etc. If new dam comes,the agreement earlier made will also have to be altered according to recent clauses, then tn govt will have to pay a huge amount. Thats the major problem with tn govt.
