  • the game movie

  • dam he wasted a bunch of money to get him into another country and dont even show us the whole video!

  • i would cry

  • I feel like this is going too far somehow. How did he get to the airport on time? Where die he sleep?

  • Where is part 3

  • If Derren pulled this on me and sent me to Japan, I would be so happy I wouldn't want to go back :3

  • @YourEveryDayJackAss Good point !

  • @YourEveryDayJackAss

why not just go by yourself? haha :3

  • classic NLP techniques with little more finese.

  • this is the fakest video ever, come on!!!

  • hard to believe it's authentic considering the possible legal ramifications, and how exactly do you get someone who has passed out onto a plane? How would the airline allow that?

  • He probably mentally suggests which card to use. haha

  • Have him wake up with another guy...

thats cheaper and that would really screw him up.

  • @02javis LOL

  • I think he did pee..sometime in his long nap...

  • Comment removed

  • LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • Well...he did pull Trick :D

  • this is cruel.

  • Derren's blend of magic and illusion is supposed to be bordering on cruel. I would say this was one hell of a laugh, assuming he actually fell for it.

  • I'm not laughing. This is cruel.

  • How can somebody call this fake? He simply makes him fall asleep, and then wake him up at Morocco. Don't mix complex psychology in it and you will acctually see how simple it is.

  • Go on then make me fall asleep !

  • @computersolutions164. the thing is that it doesnt work on everyone. im one of those, hypnosis just doesnt work. however, my mother will start snoring nearly immediately after somebody says hello to her in a calmer manner than usual :D

  • @somberlight Yes I know according to Milton Erickson, the father of all modern hypnosis it is between 20-30% of people who can be hypnotised easily

  • @somberlight it's in the trust or rapport as you call it.

  • @ukijhu97,im a finn so that'd be "Luottamus". but yeah, very valid point that.

  • @computersolutions164 You kidding? I fell asleep halfway through his post.

  • @computersolutions164 -flashes lights at your eyes to the same rhythm as derren does until you fall asleep..... puts you on a plane to a far off country-

  • Yeah please show us how simple it is. You cant make a healthy person just fall asleep whenever you want and drag him across the country...

  • @KaLNFoRc3R accely you can, hypnosis is realy rare, and few people can that, but everyone can learn it, the human brain is a weird complex, there is fakers out there but I can assure you that this is real, Darren know what to do! :) you see, the lighing and Darrans voice in the photobox told him and the brain and the ears and the eyes goes calm and make him fall asleep, and then DAren kept on talking calm to him in the car and so and that made him to keep sleeping. and then Darren is a pro, so..

  • he ended up in Jamae el fna, Marrakech, surrounded by snakes and monkeys.. i feel bad for him. lol

  • Awesome. My only question is, what if he had to use the rest room?

  • Could you imagine being in his spot. MAGIC BOOTH TO NARNIA!

  • I often wonder if Derren got his inspiration from "Bill & Ted's Great Adventure" or "The Phantom Tollbooth" for this one

  • omg I just imagined a live action version of "The Phantom Tollbooth"!

  • They made him spend the night on the street and then met him at the airport the next day lulz!

  • Yes, I'm sure he was surprised to find himself in that particular location as opposed to all the other possible ones...

Come on, this is easy. No hypno-mumbojumbo required. ;)

  • astonished :|

  • I should learn how to self induce this catatonic (maybe wrong spelling) state before a long plane ride.

  • the guy is totally losing it in his head when he first peaks out from the booth. classic

  • 13 hours without eating, drinking, peeing, or taking a shit? That sounds horribly uncomfortable. If I were that guy, I'd be freaking out over that alone. Waking up inexplicably in a foreign country would just be the icing on the WTF cake at that point.

Unless being in a deep trance somehow shuts down your bodily functions and need for satiety? I can't imagine how, but... whatever, Derren's a fuckishly awesome witch so I'll just go with it. 8D

  • It doesn'y shut it down but it slows it down quite significantly, thats why i was able to sleep the whole flight from thailand to nabraska :P

  • Yes, when in a sleep-state such as this man was it is like you are 'sleeping'. Everything slows down--then when you wake up your anxiety/panic takes priority in your body so your sympathetic/parasympathetic systems (aka your body decides how to deal with a situation: "fight or flight" ) kicks in and would most likely suppress biological needs until normalcy resumes (for him finding a way home/finding out what h appened)--unless there's exhaustion (long period of time) and then he'll feel it all.

  • its like if you sleep from 10 PM to 10 AM in the morning.

When you wake up you will not necessairly be thristy as hell or need to eat. you don't loose alot of energy

  • but u will necessarily need to pee....

  • That has got to be the ultimate student prank!

  • This one I'm not so sure about.

  • looks like east london to me

  • The real trick is how he got through customs and immigration.

  • thats so true how did he do it lol

  • 0:30 .. hilarious

  • lol thats crazy

  • it would be wrong but extremely interesting if they performed plastic surgery or at least paint his face to look a little darker and like a different person, and even cut his hair, and change his clothes to look like someone who lives in morocco. how high of a chance would he think he was moroccan? Although it isn't a 100% chance, I bet that chance would be pretty high because I kno i would be somewhat thinking that all my "prior life" was a long dream...

  • yeah , wouldn't be great if they dyed his hair , put some make up on him and make him look like shemale wearing skirt in the middle of Moroccan jungle surrounded with thousands horny north african males ??

  • You have a similar sense of humour to me !

    he he lol

  • nice one!! LOL!!!

  • If that had happened to me, i would of just acknowledged that I am mentally insane and go find the nearest mental health ward.

  • @RyuHayabusaNinja They could do professional makeup like for movies maybe hypnotise him to not feel the makeup being different from his own skin lol. Damn thats crazy. You think the governments dont do this to us on a global level in a different way. I know they do it here in America.

  • weird he didn't try to communicate with the store the moroccan photo booth was in. I would've been like wtf is going on? to everyone I saw lol.

  • There has to be more than what meets the eye here. He has to be using something other than usual hypnosis because in a hypnotic trance you'd fall asleep if you were in a trance that long and wake up on your own.

  • what a difference. There: the muddy dark and grey London. Then: the sunny, shiny Marrakesh, full of people, sounds and life. THAT is hard.

  • If so, can I get royalties for atleast suggesting it?

  • Is there a market for this technique in long journeys?

Just like Lister in Stasis, it's a good way to kill a long journey.

  • sleeping pills?

  • imagine having the power to do that that would be fucking fun

  • I would murder Darren.

  • And to think, the first time Hiro Nakamura teleported, he yelled 'YATTA!!'

Would have been an epic win if Derren drew the GodSend Kanji on the envelope o.O Imagine Richard's reaction to THAT!

  • wow, the cards. .thanks man

  • Anyone notice that the Trick or Treat cards were ambigrams? The trick card would read treat when flipped upside down. Pause it and check it out.

  • shut up about the fucking cards people everybody knows this already

  • Somebody missed the Audio preview button

  • I think you need to chill a bit.

  • yh they probably already have the trick or treat ideas for them they turn it over to create a trick or treat so even if he picked treat derren could turn the card round

  • well der

  • @db0255 They are ambigrams but it says Trick up-side down and right-side up.

  • @DaltonDayton1 so it doesn't change? it's the same word?

  • @db0255 The cards say Trick up one way and Treat up the other... so he can show them two cards saying different things... and then if he picks Treat, Derren just turns the card upside down and it now says Trick. It makes the whole process appear like he has a chance in getting something nice whereas in reality, Derren is always in control.

  • @db0255 Very Clever! I wouldnt have caught that!!

  • @db0255 I noticed it too... silly Derren ^_^

  • Wow, how amazing. Completely different culture, everything - that's so bizarre!

  • very enjoyable amazin what can be done guess he was a bit unhappy about the experience only leaving a statement at the end and not teliing of his experience. :D lovin it

  • DURACELL!

  • he like .. hmm... @.@ Narnia ??

  • Darren always says "Just need to get you to sign this contract it basically says we can do WHATEVER we want with you" so im sure it would be fine in court

  • *OWNED...

  • There would have been something signed when he agreed to appear on the show, stating that they couldn't tell him exactly what was gonna happen or it would spoil the trick, but that they would be responsible for his welfare throughout and no harm would come to him. they probably offer debriefing to reassure him afterwards. they would also ask about medication etc incase he had a reaction to hypnosis. there are guidelines for this sort of thing as a psychology experiment :o)

  • lol, was that 'contract' just a joke because I hardly think a contract signed just after waking up and under hypnosis would hold up well in court!

  • Lol - Ah yes but a judge would say that he wrote in to the show willingly. No one held him and made him do it and he was not under hypnosis until later on. Not actually when he woke up though - nice theory though and quite funny lol xxxx (I'm a former law student !)

  • :D Well I don't know about you, but whether I wrote in to a show or not, if I woke up and some guy was leaning over my bed I would be freaking out!

  • It's like Doctor Who.. go in the tardis...next minute at another country...

  • Imagine how dangerous a man like this is? I would imagine that he has been approached by PSYOPS, and wouldn't be surprised if he could pull one off on them!

Imagine? waking up in friggin Marakesh? It's 'MIDNIGHT EXPRESS' time in his mind, I reckon!

  • I think you are over playing it a bit. it is easy to put someone in a trance or even a catatonic state. Keeping them there is quite difficult though - Derren dangerous - Naaaaah

  • this is my teacher (mr.criturlo)'s brother it is true.I met him aswell.

  • who derren browns ur teachers brother or richard is?

  • ...

    what??

  • Well put !

  • I play that game in Coventry. I spotted a white man the other day. I had to look twice as it was so unusual. It was definately a white man though.

  • Dudettes, this is my old guitar teacher. He's so cool. It was so funny when we heard from his parents. (They're friends of family) His dad gtes the call "Dad, there's a monkey"

"what the hell are you doing with a monkey?"

    "I'm in Marrakech"

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN MARRAKECH?!"

    SO AMUSING

  • Cool !!!

  • that's awesome

  • i hear bradford is like living in pakistan only worse

  • yeah mate. bradisthan

  • This happened to me. I fell asleep on a train to Leeds. Woke up and when I got off I was in a strange land full of Muslims and no one spoke english. I was just like this. It turns out I had just got off in Bradford.

  • rofl, so true

  • 'Hi! ermmmm... where am I?'

    HILARIUS!!!!

  • oh man, I'd be so pissed if this happened to me. hahahaha

  • Oh my God! They took him to Bradford!!! Class!

  • Bradford is nothing like that...I would know living there! ¬_¬

  • hmm, I didnt write that. strange. never even seen the video.

  • omg you would freak out! its scary to think that someone could do that to you if they can do that they could do anythink they to you! im neva going in a photo booth again haha

  • Are you kidding me? Now I'm going into every photo booth I see... I love surprises, specially ones which leave me helpless and scared lol

  • africa i have a friend that is from morocco. haha and thats a muslim country

  • This dude is saying to himself:

    Ya man, where's the Hashish!

  • Kinda know how this guy feels. I actually got so f*cked up last summer in cyprus that i passed out and woke up in closed bar. For half an hour i didnt know in which country i was or if it was even real. I would rather do the hypnosis though..

  • Something wrong with Muslim Countries? They are more safe then the all capitals of the united states put together. Crime rate is a fraction of what it is here. Educate your self Billy Bob

  • i never said anything about crime. when you read my statement, you automatically thought crime. i never said anything about crime, all i said was "of all places you take this dude to a muslim crounty" you obviously intrepreted my statement worng so you should go educate yourself. dont specualte billy bob

  • Crime has nothing to do with it, I was stating a fact about muslim countries being better then America. Now get out of your trailor, and get some edumacation, moron.

  • i am black, so no trailer for me, you said "crime rate is a fracion of what it is here" it has something to do with crime because u used the word crime in one of your statements. again dont speculate that im am "white" when i am actually black. why cant we have an intelligent debate? why use moron? i stated my opinion u disagreed, calling people names such morons is a little childish which i am now speculating that you are around the age of 13-19.

  • Calling people names is childish? Have you been watching any political debates in the past 100 years? And is crime the only negative statement one can make about America? Your black, you should know the answer. And what the hell are you doing online right now? Isnt it time to pick up the old welfare check?

  • again you speculating that just because im black im poor, im actually a college student at the uw milwaukee. who made a statement about crime in america? how did i go from being in a trailer to being on welfare? a persons intellect not race/ethnicity would know the answer to "crime" in which you still havent answered me earlier questions. i dont like to argue with people that are racist or ignorant.

  • c'mon stop it you people, you need to be like the british:p. anyway this is for comments about how good or how fake derren brown is or how much prople like the vid STOP IT.

  • true

  • see all it took was a brit teenager to sort out u 2 american adults (at leaist i think u are) but ur acting like little babys fightin over who gets rhe rubber ducky

  • Well said Tomato

    Children Children Please !!

  • Hey, Im not speculating anything, do the research yourself, 60% of you people are on welfare or some sort of government Aide. Most with an IQ below a gerbil, your opinions dont matter in America, why should they matter here? I mentioned crime because that was ONE aspect I chose to bring up about a Muslim country. I could of said higher ethics, I could of said good economy. I could of said the absence of blacks, (with the exception of African Countries)

  • ok i havent researched that so i wouldnt know. so you assumed that i was on welfare because 60% of african americans are. thats a little prejudice but i see where your coming from. i think african americans opinions will count for the next presidentail election. im voting and my vote counts and im african american. I really dont care if my opinion is accepted here because its youtube

  • You could shut the fuck up and watch the video, then refrain from typing shit in the comment area i.e wasting space,Dick.

  • i agree with u these racists need to stop this

  • thank you loveandpeacexxx

  • Why when it's true !

Bring back Bernard Manning, the best, most racist and filithiest comic ever.

    Bernard we salute you !

  • I think this prank was very very dangerous. If this happened to me the confusion, fear, and anxiety that this situation would cause me might prompt me to become violent or even suicidal (even though I am a very calm, centred, and psychologically stable person).

I suspect the notes at the end were false. They would not possibly have let him find the airport by himself. They must have approached him shortly after this footage ended and taken him home.

  • I like the way you answr your own question, very rhetorical. If you are psychologically stable then why for heavens sake would you even think about becoming suicidal under such circumstances. I say this because up to the age of 22 I suffered from photo epillepsy, i.e triggered by light, old televisions and stroboscopic lights. The effect induced here is very similar to the deep sleep experienced AFTER a GRAND-MAL episode.

  • Think of it like a computer re-booting or a short circuit in the brain. I'm OK now and free of the drugs, I took from the age of 5. What you are saying simply does not make any sense. I also practice hypnosis and NLP myself. The effects can be induced safely without the "fit" or headache, so too speak.

That's why mostly Derren employs Psychologist to make sure all is safe an well - FACT !!

Channel 4 would not let him do it otherwise.

  • This is also why he was never allowed to do the "Walking on Glass - Prestoni" involving Cerebral Anoxia on TV, without them putting a warning up first. He did it live though which was enjoyable. Hope he does it again this April when I go and see his show.

  • I wonder, how did they make him fall asleep for such a long period of time? drugs, or some kind of sleeping gas?

  • Nope !

  • I couldn't imagine going to sleep in one place and waking up thousands of miles away in a foreign country.

  • It would be a right wicked little trick though !

  • I found it odd that the intro was so much longer than the actual exposition. We get a few shots of the guy walking around looking confused, then two comforting notes to tell us that he was okay. Is it possible his later reactions weren't entertaining?

I'd like to interview these participants five years from now and ask them if they still think it was a good idea to sign a contract they didn't read carefully, which was foisted upon them by a person skilled in mind control.

  • You almost sound like my lawyer Sir,

    he he he ! :@~}

  • Though I doubt Derren Brown actually presented the contract personally. More likely C4. I liken it to students who take part in clinical trials. There is an element of risk involved, but participation is a matter of personal responsibility.

  • i think its kinda creepy that they practically stalked him for a while first lol

    but wicked trick ^^

id like to know what they would have done if he'd picked treat instead..

  • He could not pick a treat - Look at the cards closely. They are "Ambigrams" developed by the rock n roll fella from Angels & Demons !

    Both cards read the same.

  • John Langdon, thats the bloke I was thinking of. He developed the Ambigrams

    (Pictures with roational symmetery)

for Objective Productions, the show's makers

  • Kinda dick to do that to someone, but cool nontheless.

  • Well he did write in to the show and therefore gave his consent to take part.

Anyone writing to be in one of Derren's shows, surely must be prepared to expect the unexpected.

  • By the way series two is rumoured to be in "Pre-Production and further rumoured to go to air in The Spring

  • He thinks that England were occupied by Arabs while he's asleep. LOL

  • lol yeah, and the entire landscape of the country/environment/atmosphere changed too? I realise you were trying to be funny, but if you haven't been to a certain country, it's unwise to comment.

  • And the award for biggest bug up ur ass goes to... KELLY, C'MON DOWNN!!

  • OH MY FREAKIN GOD!

  • owned derren brown style

  • Hehe, like the movie 'The Game'

  • its a fake, he just sent him to bradford, joke.

  • He He He - Badford has been full of Morocan's for years - like it :@}

  • I would highly recommend the book

"The Ultimate Revelation", of you want to practice Derren's work, its brill and its a proper book not a shitty E-Book either that those spammers at mind************* keep thinking that everybody wants to buy - you would think they would learn after I keep blocking their adverts.

  • derren brown once switched my regular coffee with sanka. he sure had me fooled!

  • Cool - When was that ?

  • I would have my bad....

  • hmm... u would have pissed myself

  • I wonder if went to the bathroom in the entire time he was asleep...

  • I felt a lot of times in my life just like him

  • I think derren is good too. Can you justify your claim, have you never heard of inducing a catatonic state in somebody then. A similar thing happens with mild forms of epilepsy, such as Petit-Mal, for example (From experience)- Your'e wrong. A similar thing can also happen with narcoleptics.

  • true, similar things do happen in people with neurological disorders. The real question is, can this happen to people without neurological disorders?

  • Well it is quite easy to put people into a "trance-like" state., by mere suggestion. Apparently so i am told that both sounds and light at approximately twice the frequencey of a heartbeat can do very odd things. I have not tried it, but this is the way TENS machines work for (pain relief)

  • I suppose you could take the ideas one stage further and say that if the light / sound stimuli were on the same frequency as the brain (about 8Hz) I think, then the person would experience what could be described as "interference", much like a radio - dangerous without supervision though, but possible

  • How interesting I have just found a page of the 4 main brain frequencies

    bwgen(dot)com(slash)theory(dot)htm

worth a read (0.5-4Hz= Drowsy 4-8Hz=Deep sleep) hmmm!
