  • I was born & raised in the D & im fucking tired of it... it sucks ass & is cheap as hell & they always on some fucking dumb shit like closing down schools, job oppertunities, & changing up bus routes & shit... *sigh/smfh*

  • I'm suprised that the 2010 new flyers that they have are still in good shape.

  • @david123321ism I bet by this coming Summer that some of them probably rusted beat up by then. 2004-2006 New Flyers are some what bad shape now.

  • I'm a huge fan of RTSes, this is making me cry so much, I'm so sorry for D-DOT RTSs for neglection. That old guy saying "most of the buses are Old" needs to STFU, it's not the vehicles fault, it's the lazy ass mechanic's fault, besides 2002 RTSes they have are still not old and I did seen few Newer New Flyer buses are in bad shape already and some are lopsided too. So don't blame on the RTSes, alot of other cities including New York City, Dallas TX still got them and they're doing great.

  • @coreyprkr2005 Sure don't!!!! Most of new buses they make these days are 2 times worst and cheap. GMC RTSes from early 1980s are BETTER Reliable buses.

  • IF ONE OF THE CUSTOMERS REPORTED THIS TO THE HUMAN RESOURCES OMG THEN THEY CAN SHUT DOWN THE OLD DIRTY BUSSES AND THEN EITHER TELL THE CITY HALL OR WHO EVER IS ENCHARGED WITH THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO SPED THE MONEY TO GET NEW CLEANER AND MORE SAFER BUSSES

  • @DulcEmiGUElito1 That's not the point, it's not the old buses, it's the mechanic's fault, they even got none- certified mechanics as well, I go to Detroit sometimes and I already seen more than few of their 2004-2006 model New Flyer buses they have are beat up and lopsided too. New York City still got alot of their Nova RTSes from late 90s model and they're way better shape and well taking care of more than DDOT buses. Toronto still got their buses that are 30 years old and still runs well.

  • @coreyprkr2005 You tell em', my friend!!! Most of times thesedays, old means better, like GM New Look, RTSes, Classics are twice better and more reliable. Most buses that are made after 1995 to current are unreliable.

  • @DulcEmiGUElito1 IF you check out Fairfax (DC Area) Transit's 1995 Nova RTSes and Montebello (CA) Transit 1991-92 TMC RTSes, they still look spanky brand new.

  • Birmingham's going thru the exact same thing, our bus system is absolutely horrible, just like yours in Detroit...This can't be a coincidence, all of these cities with predominantly African-American populaces having to contend with primitive transit service. Transit's going to become the next political "football" in this country, it's definitely the case in Birmingham. Our state govermnent's one of only 4 in the US that won't fund mass transit. Keeping a good thought for you, Detroit.

  • I heard that D-DOT is planning to order buses from Gillig Corp, but those buses are worser, cheaper, not a very good quality buses for DDOT, if they are ordering them, then they'll be Junk by few years after. DDOT should order Nova LFs

  • Sorry to reply to you, but the user hbc2nddetroit on YouTube told me that the deal with having Gillig buses and Gillig Hybrid buses had failed through so D-dot had cancelled the order from Gillig so the stimulus money was transferred to (who knows) New Flyer, but 50 of them will arrive in January of 2010, but the rest will arrive later in 2010.

  • RTS series are too expensive to rehab. Any coach that DDOT has ever purchased will eventually be unrepaired due to the laziness of the mechanics just picture your car with it's dash panel cracked in half and the gauges popping out. You'll be pissed at the mechanic who is repairing your car.

  • bellows (airsprings for buses) are low on left side--probably a bad valve. Causes bus to lean on one side

  • Some of the New Flyer D40LF buses of D-dot were also lopsided too.

  • Yeah I know, This past few weeks, I saw more than few of 2004 New Flyers are lopsided and even more rusty, beat up as 2001-02 RTSes. So they shouldn't blame my RTSes. D-DOT just don't take care of them. Even I seen few of older Gillig Advantages from SMART lookin beat up lil bit with no working destination signs already. But I'm glad to see still some of 1996-97 Nova RTS still kickin it.

  • @baul104 Yeah, I saw some of the 2004-05 D40LFs are already lopsided and looking rusty like hell, they can't blame just the old buses and Nova RTS only, its just they have so many poor uncertified mechanics who does the poor job to keep the buses well, but what it gets to me is that MCI/ GM Classics of Ex-D-DOT were more better shape even after their retirement.

  • Leveling valve looks to be not working. The Leveler helps keep the air ride suspension leveled properly IIRC.

  • To be quite honest New Flyer makes the BEST Buses

  • Please, DDOTs New Flyers probably be torn up by next year, probably few of them already bad as their RTSes, They just dont take care of them.

  • New Flyers has some shitty ass brakes, and they'll slide in the snow....

  • @keepthapinit Same with Lansing's New Flyers 500s. Lansing's GMC RTS are better in snow.

  • @keepthapinit And Other thing, I live in Chicago and the CTA's Newer New Flyers 1000s also has crappy brake and slides real bad, the Nova LFs 6400s are safer than them

  • @qwandiddy Them New Flyers are dangerous...They're made of wood (the whole floor) and fiberglass (body)... They maybe quick, but if they're involved in a front end collision...The driver could be injured or killed...

  • @keepthapinit I'll tell you what, RTS are my favorite buses and DDOT should come up with the money to rebuild their 2001-02 Novas, should've rebuild their 1995-97 Novas few years ago like Boston MBTA did 2 years ago. Gillig Advantages are also dangerous too and I'm glad that DDOT did cancelled their orders, the ones in SMART already lookin like a Dump and so is 2004 New Flyers D40LFs in DDOT also look like crap, fallin apart already.

  • I work at DDOT as an operator and let me tell you that New Flyer buses are the way to go unless u rather take the SMART Bus

  • U must work at Gilbert where they at least fix their buses, unlike Coolidge...

    U can take a Glibert 3200 series and everything on it works, compared to Coolidge...

  • Thats because Gilbet Yard recieves their parts and fix their coaches. Coolidge never recieves their parts on time or even considers ordering it due to their lack of funds. Remember that both terminals are not working together to fix any coaches.

  • these bus may be replaced by new buses if the porblems keep happening.
