The Deity is too funny. He loves people of color. I believed him until I realized I've never seen one on his shows! Then I thought maybe he meant he loved them from a distance.
Ahhh....he explained so well how I walked out on the Mormons in my exasperation.
Here was I a woman's libber in the 70's..I was condemned to eternal darkness by the Church. I am now an old woman...and I am an atheist...free at last..thank shit I am free at last.
Love his show. Been watching it for months. Well worth my monthly donation. I don't know what @meknewxenu was expecting. He thinks nobody has the answers because.. well, duh. Nobody DOES. Oh wait. You think you do, right? Or Pres Monson? Brian specifically stated several times that he didn't have everything figured out. He even left 0.01% chance for the Book of Mormon to be what it claims (which is more than it deserves, imo).
Thanks for the interview John Dehlin! When was this recorded?
@NorwayRichard If you read my statement to completion, I said he thinks nobody has the answers..."well except for him". The last part being key to the statement. I don't think that I have the answers, nor to I look to anyone else. I was just stating my opinion on this episode. I probably could have left out the sarcasm, I didn't enjoy the podcast, he wasn't very likable to me and I didn't think added anything interesting. Just my opinion. Pro LDS or con doesn't matter to me.
@NorwayRichard Given that the Mormon belief system claims that Native Americans came from Israel and scientific studies that demonstrate clearly by looking at the DNA sequences of people that they came across
from China, the probability that Mormonism is right is probably extremely small. That is, the DNA studies have a probability of error (eg sequencing error) but that's maybe 1 in a million. They looked at hundreds of people so that probability must be raised to hundreds, 1 in 100,000,000.
This was probably one of my least favorite episodes of Mormon Stories, IMO he didn't come off as a very likable guy. He seems to think that nobody has the answers... well except for him. hehe

I think this is the first time I've heard the Mr. Deity theme song actually play out. Ring tone...
