@CrankYuu If you just want to play ISO or CSO games (or use homebrew/emulation/plugins/CXM­B), just use 6.20 PRO-B8 Permanent. It's an unneeded risk to downgrade and 6.20 PRO-B8 supports newer titles in ISO/CSO format. It's also easier because the ISO loader is built right into PRO-B8.

6.20 TN Hens hide the MAC address of the PSP and change the version to say which TN HEN you are on. Full CFW does the same thing, it changes the version to the version of the CFW.

4G's cannot be downgraded. Besides that, 5.03 GEN/Prometheus/ChickHEN is not a full CFW, it is a partial CFW. It will go away after a reboot.

Yes, it is a temporary custom firmware (it goes away after turning the PSP fully off). The most current 6.20 TN CFW is 6.20 TN-C.

There's a chance that that PSP is a 3G since 4Gs really only started shipping out when 5.70 was out.

That said, since you are on 6.35, there is no downgrader for you yet.

Chances are, you have a 4G and 4G's cannot downgrade to 5.03.

Most 4G's have the same symptom as yours when they try to run the 5.03 update.

@coldjim Depends on the PSP. The first generation of 3K PSP's were "3G's" and the newer ones that came out of the box with 5.70 or higher are "4G's."

Mainly only 3G psps can downgrade to 5.03, but I have heard of people reporting that it works on 4G PSPs.

What are you talking about. Why would you need to downgrade if you can just upgrade to 5.03? From there, since you have a PSP 1000, you can update to a full custom firmware.

Sony gives you refurbs. The firmware on them is the latest that factory has. So its firmware does not signify anything. Its like buying a used psp. You can use PSPfiler to find out what G the PSP is.

You probably have a PSP 3000 that is a 4G or 5G. Those are not able to go to 5.03 and crash when you try to start the update. (nothing harmful, just does not let you downgrade).
