  • U put one like that on Ebay & Id buy one from ya with the crossover or bassblocker ofcoarse.

ALSO..wish u had explained what plugs into what, cuz Im confused on how to How ....if the guitars sound is going INTO your mouth.....then how will a BAND hear you over everything theyre playing? do u need TWO amps maybe?

  • this is he best talkbox video on youtube, thanks. the only thing that confuses me is the power source... does your amp have an ext cab out and you juts use that? how does that work? i havent built one yet so im trying to figure everything out before i do

  • @gabe13311 I modified the amplifier to have an output that wouldn't fry the horn driver, but still got maximum sound. As for my amp, it's just a Line6 Spider III 2x12. I also made another amplifier out of an old PA system that works very well, just a simple RadioShack off the shelf 40 watt PA. Modified the output on that with a Mono Jack and hooked it through a A/B selector switch. I personally like the PA system the best because you can add in any effects pedals and get the tone you want.

  • Badass, nice job. I think I'm still too much of a dumbass to get it to work, haha

  • dont for get peter townshed

  • you are cool bro

  • Good job but vid isnt good. What kind of Horn was it? Whats the model #?

  • hey could you please pm me the exact list of parts please i realy want to make a ''Not so professional T-Box''

    Alex

  • WOW! That Sounds Amazing!! Goood Job!!!

  • hey more professional than most I have seen on here. you be wiling to build me one and send it to me? i'm not to good at the tec stuff. if so contact me we can haggle.

  • vid quality sucks

  • Damn! That sounds good! I can hear what you're saying too, haha. Probably one of the best homemade talk boxes I've seen on youtube.

  • what if u use silicone to seal it

  • there should be a list at the end of all the stuff u will need.

  • @martenswr81

or you could listen when he tells you what to get at the beginning.

  • I'm having troubles with the wires, i bought car speakers, i checked the + and - thing and all, no way to get any sound out of it please help !!!!!!

I tried all ways, with or without my guitar amp !!!!!

  • i found out what's wrong.

The speaker is a 40w and my amp is 5w it just isn't powerful enough to power it.

MAKE SURE YOUR AMP IS STRONG ENOUGH TO POWER YOUR SPEAKER !!!!!

    I stupidly lost 20€ :(

  • oh, just read the second part... lol

  • if you tried it in every combo, then try the wires on another speaker, if it works, than your speaker is fried, if it doesnt then you may have issued with the feed.

  • i made one using the dog bowls like u did and my speaker is very loaud. but i get tooo much sound coming from my bowlsd and not enough coming from my tube :(. i felted it up way more than u do in the vid too

  • what type of horn driver did you use?

  • does it work with an ''PHT-406''?

  • where did u get the speaker?

  • Great vid man...

  • wow this is pretty profeshownale

  • Hi, I followed your instructions on building a talkbox and I got fantastic results. Thanks!!!

  • this is the best talkbox tutorial i've found...could you post a list of materials?

  • wow i agree. this is probably the best sounding home made talk box by far

  • wow, i like your version. might try to make one.

  • nice tutor!

  • so frigging complicated liked mooxes easy version

  • The power is comming from the amp hes using. Get 2 double sided 1/4'' male cables, plug the guitar into the amp "input" and plug the talkbox to the amp "output" easy as that

  • how are you powering the talk box?

  • a "horn driver" is like the speaker of the horn in a car ??

english is not my language and i realy want to make a talk box. please help me :)

  • That's awesome. Looks real professional and what not.

  • nice hat

  • best sounding homemade talkbox yet

  • whats the power source for You`re talkbox? a sound signal only?

  • wondering the same thing

  • im looking to change the desing a bit, i want to add and anctual petal to it instead of a on off switch button, and i would like to maybe add a alternate volume control to it and a on/off light, i think i know what to do for the pedal and light but im not to sure about the volume if anyone has ideas PM me

  • why didnt u just put the thinning thing (that the hose goes on) on the horn driver it would make the sound go through better

  • Very nice work. I can't find one of those drivers in Britain and I dont know enough about them to find an alternative. Looks like I will have to stick to the easy (i.e shit lol) ones.

  • very good design

  • Dude you should change the video name to Awesomeriffic talkbox

plus if you could it would be great to list the items in the description

    thanx fer the great posy

  • do u have an email or sumthing cuz i need it to be explained a little slower haha

  • yuh same here

  • do u have an email or sumthing cuz i need it explained a little slower. haha

  • A car mid will work well. Just give it some juice.

  • very nice

a bit complicated in comparison to the others

i could use a list of suplies in the description box

  • VERY Professional Talkbox. Beautiful engineering.

  • where did u plug the negitive wire??

  • How did you put in the spacer tube inside the bowl????

  • If you wish to own a talkbox with extended low freqency reproduction, the use of a direct radiating, full range speaker, in a proper enclosure, will produce the best results.

  • Do you think a 130 watt mid range car speaker (5.25x5.25in) could produce enough volume through the tubing? If so, I too think the enclosed speaker is a better choice than a horn driver. Horn drivers are nice because they can output more dB with less power. Problem is the frequency range is so limited.

  • They serve their purpose well in a P.A./Club speaker, but feeding them a full range synth sound without filtering low frequencies, with a corner frequency of twice the fs, at the rate of at least 6db per octave, can, with sufficient power, cause the unit to fail.

  • Thanks!

  • thats GANGSTA!!!! THANX

  • Make sure you use a filter on those drivers or they will fail.

  • Or just get a compression horn driver that can output lower frequencies like 100Hz.

  • Well, Benfirst, a typical compression driver, is a high frequency device, with a dome diafragm, ususally 1 to 3 inches in diameter. Compression horn drivers are never capable of reproducing bass, or even midbass. They have almost zero excursion an very light voice coils.

  • Typical Talkbox frequency respone is 500 hz to 7khz. Compression drivers that go that low tend to be expensive. You might have to settle for one with 1.5khz+. I bet this guy did.

  • Ho did you wire the in and outs?

  • hey dude thats the best non comersial talk box ive heard. nice job there i think this is gonna be the one ill make for use in my tunes but hey i need some info though wht respnce and modle horn driver you used and how the wireing was done.

  • piç

  • how do you wire the thing!?!? im almost done but the wirinng! its so confusing! i cant see it in the vid!

  • can u make one and sell it to me

  • i knew you'd be here too. muahaha

  • really really nice! good work

  • that is the nicest one on youtube

  • You're in for a surprise with that driver, you hit a low frequency sound it will instantly blow that driver, what you didn't take in to consideration was that that driver can't handle any frequency sound below 1,000khz.

    mister groove

  • Very observant, you have to use a crossover or a bass blocker, or just use the higher frequencies...a low E goes as low as 60 hertz, therefore, the driver I showed is a great cheap driver, there are ones out there that can handle that lower frequency, but the cheapest ones only handle 1 to 2 khz. Good footnote though.

  • how much can the driver you used handle?

  • what kind of speakers are those

  • is there any way we can by it on ebay

  • sorry i got confused, why do you need and input and output jack?

  • The way he did it, you need the input to get the sound going through the speaker. He added a switch and an output jack so that if he wants to stop using it alls he has to do is hit the switch, rather than taking the time to unhook the device and guitar, hook the guitar to the amp, and then finally get back to jamming.

  • and that is exactly right, I couldn't have said it any better.

  • why thank you.

  • thats kool it sounded good and look good so poeple can actuly use it gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd job

  • Good job man. Nice to see someone take the time to do it right and wire things up.

  • i'm actually working on another one, trying out some different things, i'll post the final when i'm done...stay tuned...tell ur friends and we'll see how good i can make this thing for use with guitar...like i said...stay tuned...happy talkbox-ing all!!!

  • Dude, I REALLY am not trying to be mean, but the lighting is really bad. you made something EXTREAMLY awesome, you were the only one I saw that actually put an input in, the rest that I saw just had old comuter speakers, yours could have sold in stores!

  • hey bro thats the best video.. i had some questions to ask.... do u think i can have ur #????? i just had a little bit of trouble with the wiring inside... if you can explane to me.. thank man and keep up the good work u rock

  • That's probably the best design i've seen yet. I'm looking forward to the more detailed video.

  • now thats cool...

  • well thank you...

  • i started building a talkbox influenced from your design but i'm waiting on the money to pick up a horn driver to finish.. you can see the video on my channel.

  • I can't wait to see the more detailed video. Will you please include a specific parts list and better description of the wiring? Your talkbox is amazing. You rock; very impressive!

  • k couple questions how much did it all cost and where did u find the horn driver

  • How did you hook up your talk box to your amp because i noticed your's isnt powered. im gonna make one and thought your design was the best but dont understand how you hooked it up

  • I just hooked it up to the Audio out jack on the back of my amp, it wasn't the best idea but it was a quick fix to show how it works. I ended up using a 20 watt PA amp. I'm getting ready to make another video showing everything. Thanks for the comment.

  • that looked professional. i wish it was a little bright to see what u r doing.

  • this was very pro for being a "not-so-pro" lol. I really liked the video and I like the way you built yours.

  • Nice!

I'm confused though, how did you hook it up to your guitar amp? Does it go in between the guitar and amp like a normal effect pedal?

    Thanks

  • this is great, but the only thing i would ask is if you could maybe put up a parts list and say how much this stuff costs before if get into it

  • This Rock!!!!!!!

  • could you possibly post complete, specific parts list?

  • Wow. Way more impressive then the ghetto box, I'm making one very soon.

  • thanks, gave me some ideas for improving my ghetto box
