OH HELL YES!!!!!! Sammy is f*cking awesome, and this song really kick ass. The beat, the guitar, lyrics, and just the the whole rythm of the song is awesome. Sammy is pretty sweet in this song
Oh for the days when all Sammy needed was a red t shirt, some parachute pants, and a bandanna to kick about 15,000 butts across the room. For those of you who have not seen this, search out the rest of the footage from this show. Live at the Checkerdome in St. Louis. There's a guy who sells dvd copies of it. I'm going to order one myself. It's well worth it. It'll tear you a new one !!!!!!!
esse cara levou diversão e seriedade pro rock ao mesmo tempo!! mr. Hagar manja mto bem até hj de tudo do rock!! o cara já botou seu nome na calçada da fama do rock...vida longa a mr. Hagar!!!!
One of the greatest things about Sammy Hagar, is his ability as a singer to communicate with the Audience. (to keep the wave of "Euforia" rollin) ! I love how he takes those little breaks between songs, to ask something or say something inspirational ..
This was the concert recorded in St. Louis. I remember it clearly. Van Hagar was only good with Sammy. It was everything in me to not give up on Sammy when he joined that punkless group. Sammy was everything solo.
I could listen to Sammy Hagar all day and never get tired of him either solo or with Van Halen or Chickenfoot. SAMMY HAGAR IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ARTIST OF ALL TIME!!!!
I wish I could find this concert footage. It was shot is St. Louis on 3 lock box tour. Sammy Hagar was the best live performer ever! Period. It broke my heart when he joined Van Halen. When I was 13 he inspired me to play guitar. Best voice in rock. Please posr here if anybody has the concert this was taken from.
i love me some sammy hagar!i dont know why everyone hates on him being in van halen?to me he was just as good as dave if not better.you see what dave did on his own,not much.so to all you sammy haters out there fuck off!
Mr. Hagar is my favorite rock star. I love this tune a lot. Have it on my MP3 and listen to it all the time. I must admit that when hes was with Van Halen, he did great songs as well.
I don't think Van Halen ruined Sammy, or vice-versa. Van Halen changed. Eddie's playing was still phenomenal, but it wasn't as raw as the earlier records. The songs were better produced and radio friendly. It was Velveeta Van Halen. I heard a rumor that Jimmy Barnes was considered as a Roth replacement. THAT would have been interesting...
@WRINGORAINTREE cmon cellar dweller you know this is crud,i've seen you commenting on iggy and the stooges you know the "Hall of Fame" real mans rock n roll band, not this keyboardy, shit riffs fag music for pimply kids, man you gotta get out more, your mums cellar ain't doin' you no good bro and kick that meth habit
@amyntut just so u know there are kids that do enjoy this.i know a 14 year old kids and he only listens to stuff from the 80s and 90s.by the way im 24
@amyntut hell yeah but luckey for me i have all these lp's so my kids got a music schooling earley on and they love it my youngest is 17 and loves this stuff
Under what sub-genre does this type of rock falls? I really like this early 80s rock; so melodic and heavy at the same type. I liked music from the tubes, loverboy, Rick Springfield, Saga, squeeze, scandal, Billy Joel, Aldo Nova, etc...
Man, you've got to be a Canuck, or at least a closet Canadian. Cool stuff -- Saga, Aldo Nova and Loverboy -- all Canadian. Incidentally, Loverboy's Mike Reno lends his pipes to a tune off of Sammy's Three Lock Box -- Remember the Heroes.
He he he... Great comment; and you know, I sometimes dream I am in Canada; I see the snow, feel the cold, see the houses, etc, Even dreamed of buying a house there. That's all great, but too cold for me...
As for Sammy and his Three Lock Box and Reno somewhere in there, I am not surprised; Reno is great. Even the awesome Ann Wilson had a duet with Reno.
these kind of videos aren't played on vh1 they're limited now not like it was when rthey first started. anyone else sick of really fast do t co m commercials?
oh heck ya!!! there is just something about the days when MTV and VH1 were something to watch. Now VH1 Classic is turning the same direction as all the rest. sucks....i want my MTV back ughhhh!!
Well, let's give some credit here. If you like Sammy Hagar, you have to really give credit to his band Montrose which is how he got started. If you like the original S.H. stuff, give a listen to the new band Chicken Foot touring this year. Sammy H. on vocals, Joe Satriani on lead guitar, and Michael Anthony on bass (I forget the drummer's name unfortunately). Their first album is great.
Their 1st album they released is all their own stuff. When I saw them in concert they did their own stuff, a couple covers of old songs, several Sammy H. original songs from back in the day, and Joe Satriani songs as well, but no V.H. songs at all.
i agree. i though 5150 was absolutely phenomenal, but its a relief to listen to him without eddie's annoying over the top playing. i think it eddie was less flash, and played more rhythm, knew when to take it back a notch, him with halen would have been lots better. i also think VH was better with hagar, but thats just cause i think diamond dave wasnt anything on sammy. i guess chickenfoot and his solo stuff is about the best there is.
Wow ... now that's a strong statement. I would have to disagree about VH ruining Sammy. I still feel that 5150 was one to the best rock albums of the 80's. Sammy has always been a class act and his collaborations have usually spawned some great music like in HSAS, VH and now Chickenfoot.
As for Dave ... I agree that he was lost without VH. I also love the early VH material but I never much cared for Diamond Dave as a solo act.
Oh, I would certainly agree with what you said. I adored Sammy before he ever thought about being a part of Van Halen, though I wasn't a huge VH fan before that. I also think that 5150 is one of the best 80's albums. In fact, I just bought another copy of it a couple of weeks ago for my CD collection. I also agree regarding DLR. Unfortunately, I think he needed VH more than VH needed him. That's life I suppose isn't it? Thanks for posting this one! It's one of my all time favorite songs!!
@Louvers JUmp é a cara do Hagar...os unicos sucessos não-chatos da era DLR são Panama e Hot for Teacher, mas DLR cantando isso hoje soaria como piada!!! a voz do cara ja era, virou farinha!
Sammy held a higher success with Van Halen and made more money than he would of if he stayed solo. Dave's solo career was awesome but he quickly fell off once the 80s were over and most people forgot about him outside of Van Halen
@rickkstir I'm a true Halen head, Sammy only made VH better. They were good with Dave, but Sammy took them somewhere Dave wasn't. My brother is the sameway, he thinks Sammy was better with them as well.
You have got that right!!! As far as I'm concerned Sammy was the best thing that ever happened to Van Halen. And he's still rock'n. What about Van Halen?lol
This has always been one of my favorite Sammy Hagar tunes. Sammy has always rocked as far as I'm concerned. I loved his music way before he ever joined Van Halen.
