I noticed that the ground where you dug the Wheatie looked ashy. Is that from a previous forest fire or was it sand? Perhaps a campfire, heck I don't know, just curious. Thanks!

@COMMANDERJSP That's just sand mixed with organic material. Haven't seen seen much fire evidence on the army base, a few bits of slag here or there from buildings that possibly burnt, I keep an eye out for old camp fire spots...you know where people were sitting around getting plastered in the dark, neat stuff jingling out of their pockets...
