Has anyone seen the video where Joey lipsyncs to 'Without You" on some South American TV show. It is such a slap at the face of Pete and Tom. He does not do their songs justice. Why doesn't he hire a Pete and Tom type person to be them onstage?
He wrote fantastic material, too, but he really seems like phony sleaze! Sorry, Joey. You can change.....
I know he has bills too, but he should hang it up. Being reduced to no name, Mickey Mouse appearances like this is downright embarrassing. Honestly, how many people are gonna run out & pay to see him on tour? Enough to pay his bills? Your voice is shot, Joey.
I hope you read this Joey.I have tried for years to look at things objectively re;Badfinger but this proves you really are a talentless grave robber.Imagine Gilbey Clarke's Guns n' Roses? Brian Robertson's Motorhead? You make Mike Love look like a saint.Oliver Reed sang better on Aspel than you did here.
It's mentioned that George Harrison had died so it has to be later than 2001. That interviewer is a nitwit. You gotta hand it to Molland, he's a survivor.
If you listen a little more closely you can hear the same raspy, bad voice that he had in 1975! He's not improved or failed; he just never could handle lead well. Most of everything I have heard or read portrays Joey as basically an asshole. And Kathie??.......geez she drives me nuts.
Ohhh come on now....dont be soo mean! Joey is great! Nobody is perfect all the time. And yeah people do age, surprise surprise. I met Joey not that long ago and hes very genuine, hes a great performer and a very good musician. Stop slamming him!!!
REALIZE the pain that Pete Ham had to go through. REALIZE why he gave up his life. REMEMBER that every dead carcass has its vulture ..... and you're looking at him right now !! Joey Molland was only in BadFinger to scrounge off the talents (& financial proceeds) of Pete Ham & Tom Evans !
Thanks for the history and memories - Rudolph was a surprise. It's Christmas and I'm baking grandma's cookies with my 10 year old - love your generosity.
Molland's scritchy voice singing what Ham was born to sing, is sacrilege but this needs to be shown so people can see for themselves what an ass he makes of himself. Gotta hand it to him for having the balls to do it though. Seeing George Harrison in this and thinking of him being with Ham and Evans gives a whole new meaning to the Righteous Brothers' song, "Rock and Roll Heaven". What a concept!
FUCK OFF with all your negative comments .He was there at the height of the band and hes keeping the music alive. So i suppose if it was you ,you would choose layin carpets over performing music that your old band used to play. DICKHEADS. I met him in Sydney and he was a REAL nice guy took us backstage and even gave me a go of his LES PAUL. TOUGH SHIT IF HE DOESNT SING LIKE HAM. HES THE ONLY ONE LEFT SO LEAVE HIM ALONE.lUCKY HIM i SAY AND THREE CHEERS TO HIM
No one can blame the lady for not knowing Pete and Tom passed away. Seriously, with molland "holding the torch" [as some have claimed, including his obnoxious wife], how can anyone remember Badfinger, let alone remember Tom and Pete? With joey keeping himself alive on the blood and guts of Pete and Tom, we can't expect much of a tribute for Badfinger - all these little TV talk shows don't give a damn, thanks to the "efforts" of graceless joey.
What a pathetic performance and individual. He joined a world-famous band and the "best" song he ever wrote was "Suitcase," which is a piece of shit. At his best, only semi-competent on guitar, and as you can hear, he never should be allowed near a vocal microphone....he would still be laying carpet somewhere had Badfinger not saved him from a certain lifelong obscurity. Go away, Joey!!! RIP the true talents of Badfinger, Pete Ham and Tom Evans.
This clip is absolute proof that Age gets us all sooner or later. And Joey's told the same stories for so long, he can spout forth like a parrot whenever camera lights are nearby.
Stupid cunt reporter.....joey is the only one still alive from badfinger..what a way to prepare for the interview. Also....joey doesn't half bad.. he actually sounds all bad. He should be laying carpet in LA. Not playing shitty guitar
@gripedwards Thank You! Grave robber indeed! I saw the Badfinger doc. I heard Tom Evan's phone interviews of the trouble joey caused, though he wasn't specific as time didn't permit. But it is clear! And joey shows his true colors by sabotaging Tom's career by stealing the Badfinger name from him and Tom was in the band before him!
laughing my arse off at some of the comments and loving the negative ones---if you can be positive about this idioticness, then there is NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING you would be against. Hearing this painful scrawl wants to make me slit my eardrums.
Stupid cunt reporter had no clue the whole was dead,.. Molland sounds horribly bad,.. His voice is pitifull. His guitar playing sounds embarrasing..to say the least......Oh..yeah dont forget he was the lead singer of "Badfinger" dumb bitch..
Stupid Cunt, did not prepare for the interview...everyone's dead except Molland. Who really has no business playing guitar nor singing. This leech should just be laying carpet, not be a musician.
'I Can Love You' off of 'Ass' is one of my favorite Joey songs. He also helped Evans write 'I Don't Mind' which I think is excellent. 'Suitcase', 'Island', 'Give It Up', "Love Time', 'Gotta Get Out Of Here'...also some of my Badfinger favorites.
Joey Molland has been done a great disservice. When are people going to wake up to his contributions to the music world and finally induct him into the deuchebag hall of fame?
@MRM1062 pete and tom could have been the next lennon & mccartney had they not killed themselves. joey decided to keep going as well as mike. too bad polley robbed them leading to the downfall.
I bet Mr. Molland has kept his spirits up because he probably doesn't care what people think about him. I certainly hope if someone I know commits suicide, I don't get blamed for it...yikes
I said Joey never wrote a SUCCESSFUL song. He never wrote A HIT. As much as you'd like it to be...that's not hate. It's simply fact. I'm sorry, but Joeys songs are considered album filler.
Joey says he and Mike Gibbins, the original drummer, aren't speaking in this interview. Have you read Mike Gibbins comments on the internet? Shame all this animosity. Search these terms together on Google - Mike Gibbins interview Sean
He drove Tom ,who was a fragile soul, to an early grave after an argument over Tom & Pete`s song royalties ( he wanted a share even through he didnt write them ) .I hate this paracite and the fact after Tom`s death a judge later gave this shite a share of royalties of songs written by Ham & Evans . Unfortunately this band`s members have died in the wrong reverse order.

No Matter What, Day After Day, Baby Blue, Without You - all Pete Ham compositions. If Joey Molland could have written JUST ONE SUCCESSFUL SONG - the Badfinger story (including Joey's) could have ended so very differently. After being given the opportunity to place songs on countless albums and CD's, Joey never came through with a hit. Sad.
Yes he sounds beyond awful here but what it comes down to is knowing when to hang it up - he used to be fab! and so was the whole band. I still think Joey Molland lives off Badfinger, which is ironic, since he didn't sing or write any of the songs that made that group famous. A strange moment happens here when the interviewer asks Joey if he talks much to the other Badfinger members, and Joey says, "2 of them have died"...A classic case of an interviewer not being prepared.
If you look at all the classic lineup albums, you will see that over 50% of all the recordings were from Joey. He was one fourth of the band and contributed significantly to their success. He's the only member living which gives him the right (as well as owning the Badfinger name) to continue to promote the band and it's songs.
