Whoever coordinated and rigged this stunt almost killed Richard Branson. They used a two foot overhung window washing hoist instead of an engineered truss in windy conditions. The rigging was not state of the art, it was a NASCAR style quick release harness, in case Branson wanted to freefall to his death I suppose.
Branson's staff looked for the lowest bidder on this job and it looks like they got their money's worth.
