Hi my names George I'm wondering if u could do a video of similar kind but for your aver edge garden frog please get back cheerio291@gmail.com thank you george age 14
We house 21 females, 7 males in a 1mX0.7mX0.5m tank , containing a water filter, several river rocks. Water level is kept at 15 cm, and is changed after they eat.
You will need a MUCH bigger tank when they grow up. 10 gallons to each newt. I have one in a 10 gallon tank with the water about 6 ro 7 inches high and I feel that is quite small. I'd prefer a long 20 gallon, but they are hard to find for a responsible price. He is 6 inches head to tip of tail.
You probably don't want to use aquarium gravel, and maybe add some more land for them. Also, even though they are babies, don't have more than 2 newts in that tank!
@hasanarkan No light source is NEEDED, but a flourescent bulb should be used and a 12-hour intervals of light should be used to keep the newts healthy.
@soulgamer789 no species should be mixed with Fire Belly Newts, as they produce skin toxins that accumulate in a tank and can kill other species in the tank.
@turtlelover191 for a complete setup for a land newt or salamander you would need a substrate (dirt, pebbles, gravle ect) you will need declorinator , newts(obviously) decorations, and a small amount of time per week to clean out their whole tank but i would recoment them they are great starter amphibains if you have any other questions then please ask, comment, imbox, and recoment vids to friends i could do with some feedback :) thanks
@turtlelover191 (by the way you wont need dechlorinator for a land newt because their is not much water you should add just enough to keep them wet and offer them a spot to bathe/swim for an aquatic newt you will need water, dechlorinator, substrace(rocks, pebbles, gravel), decorations, perhaps plants, offer a way of them/it reaching the surface to breath, any question give me a shout and ill get back to you:) OH BY THE WAY- they eat many things including crickets(acording to size)=
@matty5105 water treatment is necessary and many firebellies tend to become fully aquatic later. cauldata culture has excellent care sheets for these and other species of newts and salamanders. Nice Video.
cool tank might want a bigger one though

do u need gravel
222bunnies 5 days ago
Do not move tank with water. First, set up an aquarium in a place where it will stay. Then fill with water, etc.

Very scientific.

1. a bit too small tank Cynops are very agil
2. do not use fertilizer becaus it can hurt the newts very sensitive skin
3. not enough hiding places in your tank, the animals cant get a break from the others

Do you think the Fire-Bellied Newts would go nicely with a Green Tree Frog and a Fire Bellied Toad? i mean in a bigger tank.
