  • what would you suggest? i play in a worship band and do leads.. im looking to create an ambient sound and fill a song woth a great clean, full tone. something with a nice delay too. but i do need to have a distortion/overdrive option. nothing too heavy however.. im leaning toawds the nova, but im a little hesistant because from what i rad the line6 has more options? thanks for your help!!

  • @samdeo13 sorry about the typos!

  • @samdeo13 I play worship too and I was in the same dilemma, I heard some people trash Line 6 and praise Nova, that's why i got the two and compared the sounds. Sound wise I heard no difference, feature wise the Line 6 has a lot more options and effects than the Nova.

  • @mvmusicable which system did you keep? im still leaning towards the nova- idont think ill need all the line 6 effects, and nova still has a lot of options. i also think the nova sounds more clean, nice tone.

  • Nova System much better !!!!

  • based on how small both of these units are , you could have the Line 6 and , a Nova System both on your board for various sounds etc ...... Ha !!

Some might say that's over kill .....but they would be wrong !!

  • I have not heard these side by side , but ....i have a hard time believing that the Line 6 can sound as good or be in the same quality level as the TC NS , TC is top shelf stuff !!

  • @OnfloorAudio That's what I've heard too, but one time I heard a professional musician with more than five award wining records say "we have to stop listening with our eyes and start listening with our ears" that's why I decided to make this video to help out some people out there.

  • @mvmusicable

wow , very cool then for the Line 6 gang for making a very affordable pro level product !!

  • and yes! I did tweek it! and turned off the amp sims!! it just sucked :)

  • I hate Line6 stuff, I have a cool sounding rig with a mix of stomp boxes and my own handbuilt overdrive! I plugged into a Line 6 XT live and??? it just sucked! so bad!! my tone was horrible! it made my valve amp sound cheap!! no way!

  • line 6 <3 its more, mmm likeable to me ...

  • nova !

  • Hey man please respond! i need some help. i play lots of classic rock, and progressive rock, like rush, EVH, yes, led zepp, and some occasional gnr stuff. i have a strat and a marshall jcm 800 which i love the drive on. which is better if i want the use the drive on my amp and still use the effects and OD from the pedal. THANKS!

  • @reallybored32 If you want to add an arsenal of effect to your rig I will definately recomend the M9 is has more options than the nova.

  • @reallybored32 if you want to add some effects to your rig, I would recommend the M9 as it as more options for effects than the Nova.

  • Well, the M9 drives are digital, and the Nova System drives are analog. Is this that bit of "warm and organic" you are hearing.

  • the Nova it's just a little more organics...?...

  • Digital distortion sux.

  • Want distortion?

Get a Blackstar pedal & a TC Nova system - simple fix.

  • Nova>M9

  • @javiceres sorry but I woulnt be able to tell you as I haven't tried those effects yet

  • @mvmusicable Ok, thanks !!

  • Notice any difference with tone suck? I have the Nova system which is pretty transparent but thought I might add a line 6 at some point.

  • @Fbregy well the Nova has some kind of buffer when you are just using the stock patches si I did feel a little hiss noise. On the line 6 M9 I did not get that hiss, to my ears, the M9 was more transparent than the Nova.

  • hi... i'm confused... i need a fx that sounds warm..

i play heavy metal 80's like judas priest adn iron maiden.. what do you think i should get m13 or nova system? ( i use delay , reverb, chorus and phaser too)

  • @naruto15061992 I would definately recomend the M9 For your particular needs

  • @naruto15061992 I would definitely recommend the M9 For your particular needs

  • @NJCrossley Thank your for your comment. What I did was turn the Nova Drive on to its default setting with the drive at about 35% then I matched the M9 to it.

  • go to musician friend dot com then type 157007 on the search box

  • this is what i was searching for! great vid!

What is the Nova drive seting? Colud you be so kind and post Novas max drive sound, with boost also.

I dont know what to get, TC or LINE6, i dont need a lot of fx but i need a good distortion for gigs. So what do you suggest?

sorry for my bad english :-)

  • @loborneta if your main focus is distortion will definitely recommend the line 6 as it has various distortion tones while the nova simply has one. I have had both and I decided to keep the line 6 for more effects and possibilities as well as size on my pedal board. The Nova is great too but it just not made to be put on a pedal board in my opinion.

  • @mrcvaldivia Thanks for the info! :-)

    Cheers!

  • @loborneta I would definitely get the M9 as it was more distortion types than the nova

  • @jwoertz Hi man, I have a Nova and I am willing to change to a HD 500. Do you think it is worth changing it? thanks.

  • @VelhosNovos @VelhosNovos Sorry for the late response but here it goes. The Nova System does not emulate amps, with that in mind the HD500 will be better, plus the HD500 has more possibilities in regards to effects combination, and the quality of each effect is about the same as TC products.

  • @jwoertz I agree with you, there might be some sonic difference between analog and digital but it is so minimal that when mixed with other instruments, the human hear cannot tell. As for the rest of the effects, I believe both unites are about the same quality. But the M9 has way more options and more flexibility than the nova, hence the M9's popularity.
