@soycd666 There had been like 7 turnovers that day, and the score was tied at 17-17 in the 4th. Buddy Ryan wanted to put somebody back there who he felt had a better chance of catching the ball and getting the punt off. Plus, Randall Cunningham was a two-time All-American punter at UNLV.

@Giantssmith You separate the personal from the professional. I despised Cunningham as a Giants fan (even cheered when he got hurt two years in a row), but you learn that ain't cool. Randall's a pretty good dude, and I felt sick to my stomach when his young daughter died a few years back in Las Vegas. In the end, it's just a game. People matter most.

Imagine if the eagles had a running game then? Keith Jackson, Fred Barnett, Keith Byars. All they needed was an Oline {although I liked Ron Heller} and a back to gain 1200 a season. They would have been tough to beat. I think for a span of 5 years, the eagles defeat the superbowl champs of that year in the regular season. {giants, cowboys, redskins ...}

In the Early 90's, before and DURING the Dallas Cowboys' three superbowls, The Eagles were the team that always had the best chance of beating the Cowboys.

What just happened to me in Tecmo Super Bowl got me to want to see this clip again.

I used both Miami (AFC) and Philly (NFC). With Philly, I lost to the Giants in NFC title game but I had Jerome Brown knocking out Phil Simms.

So with Miami, I was able to beat the Giants. That kind of thing makes football lovely, even if it's a video game.  :-)

That play against Simms was all Ragie White. Simms just ran out of time as Golic finally got off his block 10 secs later. It was White barreling right over the defender that made that play. The punt was hella good though. Giant returner would have been better off to let it bounce for the touchback though.
