Yea the Philadelphia eagles jerseys were way way better back they awesome green and silver none of that nonsense green they wear know. the reason the eagles are gay now is because the owner jeff lurie is a bitccccccccch!
@soycd666 There had been like 7 turnovers that day, and the score was tied at 17-17 in the 4th. Buddy Ryan wanted to put somebody back there who he felt had a better chance of catching the ball and getting the punt off. Plus, Randall Cunningham was a two-time All-American punter at UNLV.
im a giants fan and i actually liked cunningham, as much trouble as he caused us. but nowadays you have another scrambler who can't amount to cunningham. come on mike vick's a scumbag he hasn't turned his life around. if he was a good person he wouldn't have to turn it around in the first place
@Giantssmith You separate the personal from the professional. I despised Cunningham as a Giants fan (even cheered when he got hurt two years in a row), but you learn that ain't cool. Randall's a pretty good dude, and I felt sick to my stomach when his young daughter died a few years back in Las Vegas. In the end, it's just a game. People matter most.
Who thinks that the Eagles' jerseys from this era is much better than the shit they wear now. I'm not even a Iggles fan and im saying this. BTW, holy shit, 91 yards!
A great day...BRUTALLY cold....amazing game...one I will remember forever...after watching this and Eagles-NYG game at Meadowlands the year before...both games leaving me shaking my head...saying.."Is this as good as it gets?"
I remember watching this game. I recall all that trash being swooshed around on the field. Even the commentators had made an earlier comment about it. (not shown on this video)
Imagine if the eagles had a running game then? Keith Jackson, Fred Barnett, Keith Byars. All they needed was an Oline {although I liked Ron Heller} and a back to gain 1200 a season. They would have been tough to beat. I think for a span of 5 years, the eagles defeat the superbowl champs of that year in the regular season. {giants, cowboys, redskins ...}
@jcheyney I don' t know how old you are... but the Eagles WERE tough to beat.
In the Early 90's, before and DURING the Dallas Cowboys' three superbowls, The Eagles were the team that always had the best chance of beating the Cowboys.
You knew whenever Pat Summerall and John Madden broadcast a game, it was the marquee match up for that week. Unlike today where Troy Aikman and Joe Buck announces the majority of Cowgirls games.
This game is chronicled in the Jerry Izenberg book, "No Medals For Trying". The book is an in-depth look about the Giants (players and coaches) leading up to this game. May be out of print, but a great football book.
I remember this game, I was flipping through the channels and saw the punt. I think I just finished watching the Miami Game went to get pizza and this was the 4 o'clock game. Sick I can remember that far back what i was doing....
This was when Giants-Eagles decide the NFC East kinda like today. the funny thing was that the Eagles dominated the giants beat them what 9-10 from 88-92.
That play against Simms was all Ragie White. Simms just ran out of time as Golic finally got off his block 10 secs later. It was White barreling right over the defender that made that play. The punt was hella good though. Giant returner would have been better off to let it bounce for the touchback though.
Holy Shit, a 91 yard punt by Cunningham, he truly was an amazing player. There were so many great QB's in the league then. Elway, Kelly, Young, Montana.
When you have a chasis like Golic does, that is built for nothing but raw power and sex appeal, you don't need credit for the sack, you just flex your massive tris and pecs and move on.
I hate the Eagles!

I guess it's my bias, but I will always remember Randall Cunningham in the Purple and Gold...but this video just proves how much of a BAMF he was.

What just happened to me in Tecmo Super Bowl got me to want to see this clip again.
I used both Miami (AFC) and Philly (NFC). With Philly, I lost to the Giants in NFC title game but I had Jerome Brown knocking out Phil Simms.
So with Miami, I was able to beat the Giants. That kind of thing makes football lovely, even if it's a video game. :-)

The 91 yard punt by Randall Cunningam was aided by the wind chill factor which made the temperature feel like it was -2 degrees Fahrenheit.
