  • I just recently bought the Canon Hf200, But I am having a hard time finding a suitable SDHC card. What SDHC card do I need to get to shoot video in the highest quality?

  • I got this camera for $458 at Brandsmart! it is amazing!

  • @Irishskater180 ripped off bud.

  • @DGKskater757x at the time the camera was new and $800 so... yeah... i would say i got a great deal. they came down like $200 from the original Brandsmart price.

  • How I convert to another format....like to place in facebook

  • only with a 30x optical zoom, now with 15 optical zoom it gives you more freedom to record, LMAO!!

  • @curtismichael14 He said 3x not 30x Dumbass

  • what kind of editing software do you use

  • I have Windows XP.. can I still use this with Windows Movie Maker? or would I have to get an HD editing program?

  • Does it also have an option to record in 720P?

  • I use SP mode to record and convert my video's before I upload them on youtube. But I get those black lines under and above the video. How come? Please help. See my latest video to see what I mean

  • i got my HF200 for $432 =] B&H

  • how?

  • @MalamuteKid refurbished, but it works like new so far

  • i hope those are NOT your shoes in the closet

  • @xrynxedgex LOL :DDD

  • 5:15 fail 90° ITS 180°

  • I have a Canon HF200 and recording it at 24mbps and without converting the raw footage if uploaded to youtube the video gets sound or video artifacts. Youtube's avchd decoding process needs to be tweaked. I record my video at 17mbps which is still 1920 x 1080 resolution but without the sound and video artifacts or one other option is to convert the video file before uploading to youtube with sony vegas pro or some other program...

  • Can anyone help ? I just got Canon HF200 today and I got myself a Sandisk Extreme SDHC card. It's class 10 and says it writes up to 30mb/s but when I put it in my HF200 and try to change video quality to FXP or MXP it says on the screen "Cannot record movies in MXP/FXP mode on this memory card" Whatta heck ?

  • @Scortech HF200 isn't compatible with class 10

  • @Scortech Strange. I have a Sandisk Extreme SDHC class 6 card and it works like a charm. Must be a mal function with the card you received.

  • hey dannyar10 i get my hf200 tomorrow can you tell me if i just can point and shoot the videos and uoload it to youtube without converting it? I know that youtube accepts 1080p videos with avchd codec since a short while so i hope you can answer me soon. Thanx in advance...

  • Hey I just bought this camera after hearing all the good reviews, it was a bit more expensive than I was planning to spend originally but it looks like it's definitely worth it for the high quality HD.

  • which do you reccomend more the HF20 or the hf200

  • they are the same besides the hf20 has built in memory. It would be cheaper to buy the same amount of memory in sdhc cards

  • Thanks....

  • i have this camera, mostly for recording family moments that id like to save and/or put up on youtube. the one problem is my i cannot drag the files to my computer. it says i dont have a app that supports it or play it. how can i play the movies from my computer and/or download onto youtube. plz help!

  • How much hard memory does the camera come with?

    Tks;

    TC

  • This one?

    zero.

  • does imovie recognise easily the file format? mts or something right?

  • does this work well with editing on macs?

  • that can be corrected with exposure settings..

  • You can get this at cosco for like $399

  • are you sure?

  • Yeah it might not be at all coscos but it is at mine..... We don't have that many video makers wear I live

  • I got some mail that said it's $50 off, and if we're gonna have it for the same $399 like you say it is, I'm getting it tomorrow. lol Sucks I gotta renew my $50 membership though :I

  • That's Great and perfect

  • I got my HF200. I am getting the following message when i shutdown the camcorder

TASK IN PROGRESS DO NOT DISCONNECT THE POWER SOURCE

Do you know what is the issue here? How can i fix this error?

  • there's no problem with that. The message isn't hard to understand either.

  • nice shoe collection

  • @MXPXHolland lmao... u goofy

  • you have no idea what sarcasm means do you? haha

  • I do and i know u wasnt serious so i laughed...something wrong with that

  • nothing wrong with that laughing is healthy!

  • Nice Dominicut, Nice review

  • Guys I thought this was a HD Camcorder :S

The zoom struggles at the top level.

I'm struggling to find a good point about this camcorder but without an SD Card to test the recording quality.. I wont say anthing right now.

If your looking to buy this camcorder, dont be fooled by the huge image size on the internet because you will be thrown back by the size. My last canon camcorder was the size of my nike jordans!

  • I finally recieved my canon hf200 but I just feel so disappointed!!!!

The camcorder is the size of my blackberry.. it's kind of a joke because the tripod is for huge professional camcorders, I wont be taken seriously now!

Another issue, there is no SD card included with the camcorder, have to buy it seperately.

Last issue, I bought a lowpro holdall thinking it's big enough, it's 100% too big!

Conclusion, waste of money for such a tiny camcorder with shit quality recording.

  • If you need a big chunk of plastic to show off, then you should have done some research before purchasing the HF200. Same goes for the SD card not being included, you're just uninformed.

And what's up with the recording quality? It's best in its class, so it seems like you really don't know what you're talking about.

  • what do you mean by that? I've done hours of research but can't come up to a conclusion on which brand to buy. What would you have bought?

  • @naweed19:

Why the disappointment? I purchased this camcorder yesterday (Canon Vixia HF200) and I'm 100% happy with it. Yes, it is small, and that's a good thing (but it's definitely larger than a Blackberry). You also have to be prepared to purchase costly SDHC memory cards (Class 2 or higher), but they're worth it for the speed. Also, camcorder size shouldn't affect how serious others take you.

Conclusion: I was debating between this and another Sony HD. In the end, the Canon hit the target.

  • nice shoe closet ;)

  • i just ordered mine from amazon..cant wait till it gets here.

  • How do you get the video files onto your mac? Just got the HF200, I have videos on my SDHC card I can playback on the camcorder, but I only see a bunch of weird file extensions on the memory card when I try to read the card on my macbook. Tried transferring through the camcorder as well it's the same thing. Tried manual and couldn't find anything. HELP PLEASE? :(

  • is there a way to choose what you focus on? if so, how?

  • Good video man

  • Comment removed

  • lol @ below.

Are you filming this video with the HF200 currently?

The filming quality looks soooooo sharp and perfect to the eye, makes it enjoyable to watch... not you but the picture lol.

The sound looks good but I'm thinking about buying a Rode Videomic, would I need to buy anything extra like a mount to fit it in place?

    I'm really excited now!

I bought mine today for £478 or $760 in London, UK. We've got early christmas sales :P

  • i dont know about any of u guys....but the guys face is ssssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute

    and squishy!!

  • this is exactly what I've been looking for I saw the test videos from other people and I couldn't believe you could get that quality for a low price.

  • where did you buy this camera from?

  • WHERES MY HELMET?!?! lol nice review.. i'm def. grabbing one soon.

  • nice pumps

  • I have the HF200 and the WP-V1 UW housing as well. the housing goes to 130 feet underwater. Takes decent "photos" from video stream or in dual shot mode.

  • Nice. I'm concerned about the quality of its still picture. Could u pls take some sample still pictures and upload to some place so that I can see it?

'Cause I intend to buy this one and sold my current camera so I just have to bring one with me on my vacation.

    Tks.

  • looks great. cant wait for more with the new camera

  • Again, NICE sound,

  • Nice, the sound is gr8, video too, works good in low light. And is it just me, but i saw no still images . . . ?

  • great review danny

  • you should do another review of it after a few months of use, maybe more flaws will arise.......

  • hey danny what is your psn. i see the ps3 back there
