To answer those curious: Lydia and Beetlejuice are friends in the series, enemies in the film, and love interests in the minds of supporters everywhere.

Because, really, Lydia and Beetlejuice were being paired up before Bella and Edward demolished romance. They are the original necrophiliac couple and, to me personally, a MILLION times better because they have personality. And Lydia's prettier. And Beetlejuice, well, he's not an Edward. THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. XD

So really, it is sort of both...Lydia is bound to BJ through the cermony, but BJ is bound to her, since she released him.
