That's basically how television in general works. The creators claim they want viewers to know everything about the show from the outset without having to explain much, when really they're just too lazy to develop things like you might find in a good novel or anime. It's also an excuse fer networks to play a show's episodes in any order they want. Lame as this song is, I think it speaks buckets full.
