Jack and Elizabeth are meant to be. The book ( On Stranger tides) was written in 1984, when the movie didn't even exist. The woman character was named Elizabeth. The man character was Jack as we all know it. They were in love with each other. They got married in the end. The movies are inspired by the book. Jack Sparrow is named after Jack and Elizabeth Swan is named after Elizabeth.

Yes, the chemistry is undeniable and they threw it away for the Ken and Barbie sterility of Liz/Will. A shame. I'm hoping they'll find a similar chemistry for the 4th installment and make up for the stupidity. The very fact that Liz is wanting to keep the kissing going ruins the Liz/Will love story. We already knows she's hot for Jack.
