  • the outro on this track is one of the best I've ever heard. Tops other songs in their entirety.

  • @Italia99 When you say outro if you mean at about @ 4:40 then ..yup. That shit made them recalibrate the charts to try and contain it. Here we go, with the soul shocking ... you know the rest with the zen zen...I can''t begin to tell you how many times I listen from 4:40 til the very end. Let the poppers pop & the breakers break. 2 years ago a friend of mine, zen zen ... Masterpiece.

  • Black thought and Mos def should not be allowed to collaborate on any tracks ever as they just destroy it

  • @LCAFR It should be against the law!!! Too damn good!!!

  • @LCAFR Fuckin right!!! 5 people allergic to real hiphop!!!!!

  • This Track is SIIICK, is this a freestyle? sound like it, I won't be too surprised if it is, some of the best MCs ever

  • @bigsoso20 no. it's not a freestyle.

  • I didn't appreciate this song back when it was first release, but now it's a CLASSIC in my book!!!!

  • music muito boa brisil

  • This is one of my favorite records of all time. The whole Things Fall Apart LP I mean. Thanks

  • That's old school right there that last minute of the song. That's how they rapped when it first started. You must be too young to relate. Research Curtis Blow, Fat Boys, or the song Rapper's Delight. Then you'll get it....

  • @EnisMaximus Yes. I would also add checking out the Double Trouble scene from the classic old school movie, "Wild Style"

  • i love this song, but i cannot stand when mos ruins songs like he does for the last minute of this jam.... i don't wanna hear an mc wasting time on an album, especially a roots album.

  • @loveofClouds nigga please

  • either stand tall or sit the FUCK down

  • You can tell Mos Def was enjoying himself on this track

  • ridiculous how two of the best MCs ever get 79k views, but yet a song as terrible as yonkers has nearly 16 million....smfh

  • @isick2121 ironic since mos def is ofwgkta's biggest fan

  • @isick2121 ofwgkta actually isn't that bad.... their actually pretty ill when looking at how old they are. Don't even say I don't know good rap because you're just gunna make yourself look stupid.

  • i love dents in my tracks :)

  • DL the audio from this vid at tubepull doht cohm.

  • Sometimes when i listen to this song and other fantastic songs from The Roots, it gets so memsmerizing that i think "how is it possible that this exists". its just too incredible sometimes.

especially how the beat continues to change up into the verse..and as soon as soon Black Thought spits his verse you're like "WHOA...holy shit!".

  • @mhaze210 That I of the best thing about this Album..severals songs have at least 2 or more beats. Simply amazing.

  • How many classics songs have The Roots made?...I don't think I can count that high.

  • @xBallTVx its easier to count the albums =)

  • jus ridiculous

  • i was feeling like shit minutes ago, then i just thought this track might possibly help...well now im not sure if it either helped, or if i just wana handle business now...damn.

This song makes me think about who I really trust, and will forever be loyal to...and those who i should just turn away from.

  • "RUN IT's THE P O L I C E"

  • back when mc's got the spirit and "literally" flowed into the next album track...guaranteed there's another minute on this song...

  • @bainksta actually nah this is full version,i rmr the next track on this album having a completely different beat, but even then the intro the next track flowed well with the end of this one...I think the next track is Act Too ( Love of My Life)

  • @superdopetastic

...actually when I say there's another minute on the song, I really mean in the booth...you can tell they kept the cypher goin...

  • @superdopetastic Yeah you are right because Common is on the next track, on the CD that I have.

  • that is so true

everytime I got to the gym and start pumping, I always listen to this song and always get the impression this just goes on and on

  • ll cool j did the same thing mos did at the end

  • @suewho415

I've been who was the first person to do it.

  • although it's one of the most recognised underground hip-hop albums, i still feel this is the most underrated -- sort of "best kept secret" -- track - easily one of my favourite hip hop tunes of all time

  • @adaryanani i totally feel you right there man. this tracks exhibits lyricism at the absolute ultimate level

  • 4:20-4:30.....listen to lyrics...idk but did the album "Do you want more!" come out before or after this album?

  • @jose9150

Yes it did. This album came out in '99 and "Do You Want More?!!!??!" came out in '95.

  • @Ginga Thanx. Maybe they were trying to bring back the album idk haha. Maybe not.

  • Track 9 from Things Fall Apart... Classic collab!!!

  • man im feelin this track...sooo fresh...

  • rude tune. what the real hip hoppers listen to

  • It really sucks that people in the American society dont listen to the real hip hop and rap. Some do but many dont. only some people have the real taste in music ...others...dont and they listen to the wrong music thats horrible in many ways

  • black thought is the kid with the magnifying glass and all other rappers are the ants.

  • @1stGenRefugee cept mos

  • @1stGenRefugee Oh, come on. Mos Def is an exception, he's doing his own thing with a garden hose across the street.

  • legendary stuff right here. Two of the all-time greats in a crazy zone

  • the roots are too underrated

  • It's so sad. This album dropped in 99 and people are just now finding out about it.

  • @exactlyvague music is timeless, who cares.... I bought this album right when it dropped and its still my favorite hiphop album. Was really glad to see them win that Grammy that year.

  • I agree with you. The sad part is, there is so much bull.. music for people to push their ears through that sometimes real tracks like this get ignored for way to long.

  • What sadder is the ppl who think most of todays music is hiphop and may never find out

  • hell, those people are so blinded they have no idea!

  • Imagine if it had kweli! My favorite roots song right there, son.

  • I agree with strange71. . . true lyricism. These knuckleheads out here today could learn a gang from these two M.C.s. Notice I didn't see rappers cuz that's what we got now. Anyway, Black and Mos kilt it on dis 1. OH Ten. . . . OUT!!!!

DOOM should do a collab with The Roots.
