  • well,this happend in 199x,at that time,we were

  • The video does not show a village destroyed by a rocket, it's just what a normal Chinese village looks like.

  • i accidentally your village, sorry bro

  • China failed in the copy of the Russian rocket, but, they succeeded in manufacture of the missile.

  • U, surprised? MADE IN CHINA ;D

  • @wuj3kdar0 except... made in usa

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! No fucking way! Why did I never hear of this? Didn't the chinese learn anything from us?

  • stupid!

  • Any survivors?

  • uhm...FAIL.

  • Why do I feel like I am playing Kerbal Space Program right now?

  • I wonder what Gary Oak has to say about this

  • This is the most devastating case of erectile dysfunction ever recorded.

  • Imagine if this happened in America. We would flip shit

  • @MrBeardedWisdom *We COULD flip shit...

  • FUCK YOU DOPHREEN TOWN, FUCK YOU WHALE CITY

  • @jhdsvcyjausdgtfy I get the South Park reference, but this isn't Japan. You know the difference, right?

  • @2029AD chinese japanese dirty knees look at these

  • I remember seeing this on the news when it happened.

  • woah, that was exactly one year before my birthday.

  • It's not hard to guess what they're saying.

  • you know there were a couple of folks in that village watching the launch. What the scene must've been like in the seconds prior...

  • you no kill china well kill ourselves

  • I bet if Nasa presented the same results to the government they will have their space program back.

  • MUTE

  • Whose space program is wining on the body count front?

  • Wow, someone forgot to carry the zero....

  • And that's why you put self destruct charges in all space-bound rockets.

  • @Macattack276 Except that it was too low for that.

  • tragedy

  • atleast china has a space program bahaha

  • Germans had this shit figured out in 1943

  • Forever arone

  • fucking langage fucking people

  • Loudspeaker translated: Ffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • I imagine they did not use a destruct line, where you would do a controlled explosion of the rocket before it reached a population center. Essentially this is extremely unlikely to happen in America.

  • R.I.P. my ears ...

  • False Alarm! Long March Rocket actually Short March Broket.

  • Lmfao @TheRoomy

  • There was no scuttle mechanics in place?

    Chinese cutting corners again

  • This is the fundamental difference in governments. Rocket fails in America, it's a national tragedy and changes everything. Rocket fails in China AND it blows up an entire village, oh well fuck you. Shouldn't have parked your village next to our rocket.

  • @TheRoomy herebombfuckyou.jpg

  • TURN YOUR SPEAKER VOLUME DOWN BEFORE THE VIDEO STARTS

  • Great to see the usual idiots making the jokes. It must feel good to be daft cunts or being arrogant enough to make puns knowing that 500 people lost their lives in what is being viewed.

  • @softwarehangout chill out man, its the internet, and although what happened it terrible most people are here for the lulz

  • @softwarehangout People die needlessly everyday, a sense of humor is one of the best coping mechanisms humans have. Develop one.

  • @pyrodude64

A sense of humor can only be limited to humor when it is applied to something that is not of this much significance. Are there not enough things in the world to laugh at?. Me not laughing at 500 people dying means I have no sense of humor?

Well done sir for your flawed logic.

You cannot laugh at everything in the world. That is the real problem.

  • Reddit.

  • And the lead and melamine fueled inferno lit up the night for hours to come. Ping pong ching said Chen, and it was good.

  • The Reagle has Randed

  • @JimmyHill6789 you raff you ruse

  • Crazy thing is, this wasn't even the village that got hit!

  • How do you fuck up that badly?

  • @dropkick45 Because rockets are still difficult to build and launch. Look for the US failures or the EAS failures, especially the first Arianne V.

I don't think there will ever be a perfect solution (Soyuz is the nearest, statistically speaking). It doesn't matter how good you are, sooner or later something goes wrong.

  • The thing about rockets, condoms, and bullets. you shouldnt buy "pre owned"

  • Made in the USA

  • @JRCrowley It's not "Made in THE USA" it is either "Made in the US" or "Made in USA"

  • To be fair, that's what China looks like anyway: burnt out buildings and fields. I've been to both China and Tibet and there are some beautiful places, but most look like this.

  • This some shit right here. It waas funny in the beginning tho

  • MY FUCKING SPEAKERZZZHHZHHHZGHGHGHZHZZZ!!!

  • This shouldnt have been as funny as it was

  • F is fire that burns down the whole town, U is for uranium... BOMBS! N is for no SURVIVORS!...

  • Why is somebody announcing this over a Wendys intercom?

  • @toshirosboo3 One orda shitty chicken?

  • Who the hell shoot rockets over a populated area...

  • @azn2k2000 It's not in the middle of a city!

Go to this location in Google Maps 102.0371E, 28.233N and check the satellite view. Move the map around a bit until you find the launch pad (NNW)Yes; there are small population centres around the launch facility but it is not "a populated area".

  • And these are the same guys who kick my ass in starcraft?

  • @Gnarpig Hell no, Koreans arent this dumb.

  • @TwoHeadedHawk Koreans are dumb enough to allow their country to be split apart for the last 58 years.

  • @Gnarpig That would be the Koreans.

  • AND one day this is how we destroy our Planet ! : (

  • "Sir, we have a massive amount of territory from which to choose the best, most remote place to launch our rocket"

"Here. Right next to this village. Fuck this village."

  • LMFGDAO!!!!!!

  • damn......

  • Good.

  • @twitchrdz956 you're fucked up, seriously. why would you say good to a village dying? you fucking retard

  • @RoflDustin mostly because anyone in china would say the same thing about your town being obliterated.

  • @twitchrdz956 lol, and this is why people hate americans; people like you make us look bad.

  • Did the range-safety destruct malfunction or what? Did the range-safety officer decide that it was more desirable for the rocket to exit the launch area after its launch became an obvious failure?

  • Wei renmin fuwu

    Gan xiang gan gan

    Nongye xue Dazhai

    Zao fan you li

    feung shei

  • Whoops!

  • @gqpadillac Mission accomplished.

  • They accidentally a rocket.

  • @firebanesword The whole rocket!

  • how stupid do your scientists for a fucking rocket have to be, if the fucking thing turns left and flies horizontally within 2 seconds after takeoff

  • @MrLiveWired ... and all the shuttle missions never failed spectacularly?

  • @aksling I don't recall any of them destroying villages.

  • ear rape in china

  • Idiots should have detonated it manually before it went too far.

  • Shit man, that was a biiiiigg bomb.

  • @DarkAndMartyr it wasnt a fucking bomb

  • 6 people my ass.

  • @TheAwakenedHeretic

    I lol'd

  • Comment removed

  • i think it went wrong

  • what's with the noise?

  • 6 people you can trace were killed.

  • well, it works!

  • Makes you wonder how many civilians died over there..........

Obviously, under China's evil regime the world will never know.....

  • @xXxRadicalDreamerxXx Yea it's surprising we got to see this video in the first place.

  • @xXxRadicalDreamerxXx Six people,according to wiki

  • @xXxRadicalDreamerxXx

That is a sad and frightening reality, my Chrono Trigger loving friend.

  • @FredwardAlexandru Who needs Lavos when mankind destroys itself.......

Just wait and see what's going to happen in the middle-east in the next few months......

  • LONG DONG

  • Damn, you can tell they don't know how to play kerbal space program.

  • @zezsn1p3r lmfao

  • @zezsn1p3r hahahahah i didnt know that many people play that game, lol

  • I've heard that he actual death toll may have been close to 2,000 people.

  • @altfactor Six people were killed by this. According to wiki

  • また町が一つ消えた

  • yep thats definately going to be a long march for them

  • @cheetoman23 this was more beautiful watch?v=j4JOjcDFtBE

  • How can the country that invented rockets be so terrible at launching them?

  • @deicidalRuffian Because they've only ever designed them to burn villages or light up as fireworks. This rocket worked exactly like it's predecessors.

The damn thing didn't even get off the launch pad before it started derping.

  • これは何かのギャグか?

  • OOOPS!

  • made in China

  • @bennytrue Made in Russia watch?v=Hl9u-h_btBo

    Made in USA watch?v=j4JOjcDFtBE

  • @bennytrue Actually it was made in the United States.

"Intelsat 708 was a telecommunications satellite built by the American company Kerbal Space Program"

  • @bennytrue "Intelsat 708 was a telecommunications satellite built by the American company Space Systems/Loral intended to be launched into a geostationary orbit and operated by Intelsat."

  • @aegisfate117 There were two that exploded that day by the way.

  • @bennytrue The irony is, this rocket was actually made in the US... look it up.

  • @HirokaTamashii The rocket is a Chinese design made in China. The payload aboard this launch was a US-made communications satellite.

  • @Wavicle Oh whoops, I misunderstood.

  • @bennytrue Made in China, in 1996. Since then, China has been successful in launching their spacecraft. I really shouldn't be leaving reasonable or sensible comments on here though, after all this is YouTube.

  • @bennytrue "made in China"?

But this rocket was made in America by the American company Space Systems/Loral...

  • @FriedrichAndrew

    Grow up.

  • @Task5003 Uhh, no, this rocket was made in China. Try not to spread disinformation.

  • @Task5003

    wikipedia disagress

    /wiki/Long_March_3B

  • @Task5003 Actually, the payload (a communications satellite) was designed in America. Everything else? China.

    Derp on your part.

  • In the original newscast the live broadcast was cut around 0:29 and the Chinese never released a damage report. Later they claimed that only 6 people were killed. Does anybody know when this full video was released?

  • in the chinese vilage dont buy buy chinese

  • in the chinese vilage

  • What idiot launches a rocket above a town

  • @dreamteampwns that's why it's just a hoax made by japan

  • @dreamteampwns An idot who deosnt guv a shit about its own people?

  • MEDE IN CHINA 花火~^^

  • China has many other things to do than rocket launching.

  • so spooky

  • MING NAAAAR!

  • There was nothing left of that town! People told me but wow, I guess i had too see it.

  • 显然这是直播的嘛。再说多少年以前的事情了~USA死人的那些事咱就不提了~

  • 這是1996年的西昌,當年中央台也有直播,請不要取笑意外,小心你們也有大地震報應

  • I remember watching the live broadcast on CCTV (PRC gov't TV). As soon as the rocket exploded, they immediately switched to some other news without mentioning the incident for the rest of the evening. It's like they thought they could hide the embarrassment even though millions of people witnessed it live. The stupidity of the PRC gov't is amazing!

  • @gupsphoo I thought the launch took place at bout midnight or later... I could be wrong about that. It doesn't mean there wasn't any news on at that time but hey, just saying...

  • @Camerameister I'm pretty sure CCTV aired it live around dinner time during their regular news program. I think they specifically chose that time so the entire nation could proudly witness their "achievement".

  • I died Too

  • only 6 ppl died... but 12 people and justin biber accidently hit by rocket and dislike this vivdjd

  • @gwogwo123123 Its too bad Justin Bieber didnt explode...but there is always hope!

  • ONLY SIX PEOPLE DIEd

  • They should have learnt from the previous launch. Maybe shifting there people just in case?.

  • @jj1aa2mm3ee4ss Probably didn't have enough time to make the changes. the two were less than 1 year apart.

  • This is China quality (`´)

    China communism party is devil

  • @TheKeitasan Are you really that naive?

  • @Camerameister poor english

    awesome china

  • @TheKeitasan Yeah, okay. My apologies. The rockets are fine but the political system not so good! We agree. There are just a lot of people on this thread who seem desperate to make a link between what they perceive as poor quality and the Chinese Communist Party, which does not always give an accurate assessment. In fact, all it does is cover up a lack of awareness of the facts of the case.

  • 以宇宙开发很好地有失败。可是无视人权的开发是坏事。中国政府让国民一边挨饿一边进行宇宙开发,由于坠落杀死了村民。更加隐藏了失败的事实。

  • This is China quality. Good for nothing for the human beings.

  • @hh5944 The fact is Chinese aerospace rocket never fail again after that incident.

  • 不就是發射失敗嗎? 要招來民族罵戰嗎?

    太沒有氣量了吧。

  • Incroyable.

  • 日本人怎么能=狗呢狗可是人类忠实的朋友你这样说不是在侮辱狗么 日本人=狗屎 才是正确的

  • hahahaha!!!

    加油♪加油♪

  • 現場觀看的人大聲叫:撞了人!撞了人!!!

  • I read about this incident for the first time today. I'm glad the PRC is contributing so much to our understanding of rockets, but I don't get why they'd launch a rocket, especially one so big, nearby such a well populated area. Why?

  • @EdwardJayPumpkinhead

i think you can check the position of Chinsese space base by google earth.

    it's easy to do.

or you think you can lanuch a rokect in anywhere?

  • @LUOBOC Of course not, I'm aware that there are certain geographic limitations in that particular region. The site was placed too close to such a city....it should have been placed between Bazhong and Nanchong (at least 40mi from civilization.

  • @EdwardJayPumpkinhead

ok,may you beleived the rocket speed is so rapid and can hit the cloest city in 22 second. indeed, it just hit the building in the space base. ╮(╯▽╰)╭

however, i can realize you worry about that. i read some reports about the rocket fragment hit citizin building but fortunately no people were killed (of course, you can refuse to beleive what i said)

in addtion, this space base havs began to move its equpiment to WENCHANG in 2008 and set a new space base in there.

  • @LUOBOC Thank you for your information.

I read Intelsat 708 crashed 22 seconds after launch, too, but the sources I can find all claim the rocket crashed in a nearby village. Official Chinese reports suggest 6 died and 57 were injured, but western reports suggest 113 died and over 500 were injured.

I did not know about the movement of technology to Wenchang, thank you.

  • @EdwardJayPumpkinhead "Official Chinese reports suggest 6 died and 57 were injured, but western reports suggest 113 died and over 500 were injured."

I'm interested in this figure. The CIA estimated around 200 casualties and on that basis, yours is the only figure I've read which sounds reasonable. The size of the area and the US gov't estimate makes your figure much more likely than unverified claims of "thousands killed" which I've seen elsewhere. Have you got a source please?
