confused... is the exhaust just cut off at the end of the X? with the mufflers still hanging there? Because just installing an xpipe wont get you anywhere sound wise. It will really be no different than the stock Hpipe. @DonBuralli 100% agreed....might give you a different sound but not a louder sound... it normally quiets it up a little...really smooths out the tone, gets rid of a lot of popping noise on decceleration because it equalizes back pressure. X pipes are more a performance and equalized sound mod.

Horsepower = Torque X Engine RPM / 5,252.

No engine EVER made has been designed to run on backpressure, not even two strokes. They require an expansion chamber, not backpressure.

Engines are tuned to run full exhaust systems, which will obviously incorporate a little backpressure, they are not specifically designed for it.

Why?? because they cant produce the cars unless they meet exhaust law requirements.. Which means if you change the back pressure then it will throw the computer off resulting in loss of power..

Just to add to that.. Valves hate backpressure, backpressure causes the valves to heat up.

The real torque losses come when you have a stock manifold, along with a stock Y, X, H pipe, that will slow down the exhaust velocity by cooling exhaust gasses, backpressure is what causes them losses in power, NOT the decrease in backpressure.

It seems like you've got your ideas on the exhaust theory backwards. Engines are not designed to run with extremely hot exhaust valves, and backpressure.
