Do me a favor and name just one "Empire" that no matter how powerful their military was at the time didn`t fall. i'd say since it was a war, the japs already sneak attacked pearl harbor (for no real reason besides to try to prove they could?) that it was worth the 2 atomic bombings to see what they could do, and that we should not use them unless something serious enough comes along, which may never happen.

the japanese lost a little over 600,000 civilians in the war, china lost nearly 16 million civilians (most due to jap atrocities) the allies lost more than 50 million civilians while the axis powers lost 11 million civilians, so whatever the US did to the "so called" innocent japanese, the japs did 10x worse to civilians of their enemies, so YES they did deserve retribution because the jap civilians were 100% behind their govt

The day the Emperor was to make his surrender radio annoucement, Japan's military leaders were planning a coup to keep the war going, even after two atomic bombs. Do you understand the emeny at all?
