hmmmm, I guess you're right. I must've heard it wrong the first time. It does sound pretty similar to Dear old Dixie.
Except for the chords, Dear Ol Dixie has a lengthy chord progression, which, according to Earl's book, goes as follows:
(Actually recorded in G# with banjo and other instruments tuned up one fret as if in G) G-C-G-A-D-G-C-B-C-G-E(NOT Em)-A-D-G.
this is not dear old dixie, its lonesome road blues, theyre very different pieces when you get to know them, but take my word for it.
