On the other hand, certain minor crimes should be forgiven after time served. And, I believe that there is a way to get some crimes expunged from your record.. And of coarse that takes money, which not everyone has .. This is a very interesting topic we could debate it day in and day out and it still not change a thing...Do you really want to make a change or discuss it on YouTube..? Just curious.. Just seeing where your head is at... :)
Crime can always be forgiven. Instant re-enforcement such as immediate consequences are much better. Serial rapist needs to be on lock down and given death penalty. We all can accept mistakes, but not habit.
As far as your comment on once you do the time, you've paid your debt to society... Eh.. Idk about that. It depends on the crime. Obviously, if you're a effing child molester your ass should never be let out of jail because you can't be reformed, I don't care if you've been in jail 5 years or 25 years, in my opinion, certain crimes can not be forgiven.
So I guess this has to be a 2 part comment... Part 1: I agree with you on some points...The US justice system needs to be reformed. As it stands now, it's disproportionately biased against minorities. And I totally agree with you, that lawyers and judges should have a psych degree as well, because as we all know, there are many variables that make up the criminal mind.. Socioeconomic issues, etc... However, not giving criminals a way out..
Right now the system is in-efficient and often just annoying. The length of time it takes most of the case to finish is between 3-6 months. Wow. Why can't this be wrapped up in 1 week or 2 weeks? People are losing jobs over these continuous appearance. I'm thinking about writing an article to mock the failing justice system.
