  • The repeater on 145.700 is the "Hurup-repeater" situatet on the westcoast of Denmark.

    Info:

    Call: OZ9REX

    Name: Hurup Thy

    Freq: 145.700 MHz

    QTH: JO46ES

    EchoLink: 28159

notes: CTCSS: 94.8Hz (Rx & Tx) or 1750Hz

    HAMphone: 0977

  • It isn't strange. It's a repeater from Scandinavia. Danmark or Sweden. It's very common there to use this kind of courtesy tone.

  • Sounds like a tone was sent out as an "attention getter" for any monitoring stations. I send out 2 tones before starting our net. A tone at 8:30pm announcing the net will start at 9:00pm another at 8:45 announcing the net will begin shortly and at 9:00 I begin the net. Iv noticed sending out tones to alert or catch any stations that are monitoring works better than just beginning the net the "normal" way. 73 KD8NCL
