Why is Anna attracted to skinny men? Now i see the attraction, this is why Anna won't leave him with all those lies. She was a double agent because her family lost thier money, Duke didn't want to be like his father so he joined the mob. She found someone that is kind of like her and won't judge her for her past descretions unlike Robert.
I think he's finally opening up and showing her a side she hadn't seen in him before. He isn't playing her. In other scenes with some of the dock workers he was also being sincere and Anna wasn't even around. He was tormented as a young kid about not being able to help his father and it shows in later episodes when he faces his own accident and believing he would not be able to walk again.
yeah that's bullshit! 'cuz Duke already had known that Angus Mckay was his real father! Nontheless I still enjoyed this scence, Duke got Anna to open up more than her feelings!! lol :<)
@robertannafan If this scene was to make us know more about Duke and make us like him.... it didn't work for me!! even if was all true. I hated the tears. I enjoy the annoying and bad Duke. I am trying to figure out why I feel this way and it has nothing to do with Robert!! LOL
@dlwoods7 Not really, because we all know his angle, so it's very difficult to believe he is sincere. I mean, he's working her to a purpose, so I personally am taking all of these feelings with a grain of salt... It's much better when they're playing off the sexual tension.
@cheetahinireland18 So you are thinking he is faking this woo is me act? That is sort how I am taking it but wasn't sure if that is what they were trying to do? The feistiness and sexual tension works better. This is the first scene where we see "The Duke Pout"
@dlwoods7 Duke does not play with a Anna's feelings, not even in the early stages...at this point he's not even thinking about his underworld life, he's not trying to fall in love with her..he's just attracted to a beautiful woman..and when he does fall for her...well.....you'll see......If nothing else Duke is sincere in his feelings toward people in general....his crookedness is about money...just my take on this scene
@romandanna So you are saying they are playing 2 different stories that is going cause conflict later on for Duke. I am laughing after I wrote that.... That really is Duke's story!

I like it and I think he's explaining to her at 5:45 - obviously without her knowing right now - why he's in the mob.
