I applied ED to Brown University my senior year of high school, was deferred, then rejected....took a gap year and traveled the world, reapplied, and got in! Will now be going there in the fall. I think all students should consider a gap year of some sort - there are all kinds of possibilities out there for every budget. And it could allow for a formally closed door the chance to open again....only don't do it for the sole reason of reapplying to your "dream school."

Good advice. I think you should choose the cheapest option. Fuck the Ivy Leagues and the UCs. I don't give a fuck if they accepted me I am not giving them 9000 bucks or 15000 in Private Colleges' cases.

um. more like $58,000 for private schools. thats what i would i have to pay if i didn't get any aid....

and if i had to pay that...i'd probably not have enough money for, well, anything else.
