I honestly think you were being a little too harsh on this game. As far as minigame compilations go, I don't think Namco Museum Remix was that bad. I had good amounts of fun with it here and there. Also I wouldn't call that Gator Panic Remix minigame to be unplayable. Yes, the controls could be more properly tuned, but unplayable wasn't the word I had in mind.

Great review! I've always thought the Namco Museum games we're crap, even when they were releasing them on the PS1. Only Pac-Man, Dig Dug and Galaga are passable, the rest have aged like turds in a desert. I'm not paying $20 for three games I'll only play for 10 minutes each!

The Williams Arcade collection was a bit better, and that was on the SNES back in 1996! Robotron 2084 still kicks ass to this very day, and Defender I & II are good fun, too.

Namco Museum normally packs some great games, but this one had a few issues.

A. The old-skool games use the numchuck only, making them hard to control

B. They are old, but not bad games, it's the control that sucks. And the remakes aren't all that. Play pac n roll on ds. It works better, whereas on wii, it doesn't work. Just play the classics on ps1, ps2, xbox, gamecube, or 360.

What's wrong with it? I really like this version and I'm not a 10 year old wii sports loving daughter of some bloke. Although there are better ways to get a classic gaming Namco fix (plug n plays are the best or maybe older namco museums) the remixes are still fun in this title. I especially liked Pac and Roll.

@DXZDSnakeEater not all new stuff sucks, it's just that now, you can completely rip off another game and get away with it (Dante's Inferno, for example), and when one game does something different, every game following it is expected to do it too, keeping creativity low. Back then, you didn't play rip-offs. You ran from the rip-off to play the real thing. Rip-offs rarely did well, even into the mid 90's this was true. Success came and comes from extreme creativity. That is hindered now.

The arcade games included are definitely of the third string and Namco has been rehashing their Museum titles for so long it's insulting. They should just release an installment with 30-40 games and be done with it already. Especially if they're charging 40 bucks. If a company throws 5-10 old titles onto a DVD, with only 2 of them really ever being something worth remembering, it isn't ever going to get the game a good score from me. And I can appreciate classics just as much as anyone else.
