Hi @qbking77, great job you are doing. So I thought that an import would do a full wipe. But that's not what happened for me. I got some weird hybrid. When I did the restore (from 2.3.4), my phone was still my phone, some apps were gone, but a number of them were still here. I have GO Launcher which was still loaded and the default, and some of the icons now say loading and don't launch, but it is definitely EI22. So now I'm very confused. What's the scoop? Thanks a lot!

I got gingerbread installed and rooted and also installed the latest clockwork mod. Everything is working great so far except that I have lost audible notifications for text messages. Everything else works perfectly. Any ideas?

@pom267 Hmmm... I haven't heard of that issue.... Are you sure there's a ringtone set under sound settings?

@qbking77 Yeah..checked that and volume settings first thing when I noticed the issue. All other incoming notifications work right except for texts. All I am getting is vibration on them. No sound. It also seems like something is missing under the sound settings. I remember more options before. All I see now is "Voice call ringtone" and "Notification ringtone".

@qbking77 hahaha....thanks for that. It was painfully obvious after reading that..I was going through the main settings not the messaging settings. That solved it. Thanks for all the great video's and fast responses as well. Your tutorials are some of the best I've found on here.

Got CWM 3.1.0.1 & ACSRecovery 1.0.0.5, however, the backup folder still doesn't exist in my CWM folder. Instead I have the download folder. Should I proceed as if they are the same?

I did everything u said to do, i was rooted already but it doesnt seem to boot up, i think the problem was with the gotorfs file, when i installed it it installed fairly quick n it said install complete but then under it said, failed/cache something something. please help asap

What I'd recommend is just flashing an EI22 rom straight from clockwork after wiping data cache and dalvik :)

I got it to work, thanks to 68Houston: Go through this link and install a keyboard fix of some sort and then you can install clockworkmod and then ROOT!

I was on ROM. Odin back to stock and now can't install the update. Do I have to go from EXT4 to RFS? So will have to reinstall clockwork and then work my way back?

@kingcooleyiv Must flash a custom Kernel before flashing clockwork or else it won't stick. I used mkasik's EI22 keyfix kernel. Nubernel should work fine too.

Hey qbking77 - I have tried this twice today, in ACS recovery/CWM4.0 and it locks up on the restoring system for over an hour or more both times. About how long does this process take, and how long do I wait before i pull the battery? If I have to do that, how do I get my phone back?

@mindlord70 It takes like 10 seconds usually.. don't wait more than 3 minutes. Try a different cable
